May I recommend Fast Travel Double Face Fix by troybayliss to be added to the collection of fixes.  The major difference between this Double Face Fix and the one that comes in the Unofficial Patches is that this one uses a script that requires OBSE that automatically fixes the faces on fast travel, verses casting a spell which sometimes does not work if your followers are scripted to leave you after you complete a part of a quest.  A good example would on the main quest fast traveling with Martin and the Priest from Weynon Priory directly to Cloud Ruler Temple.  The spell from the Unofficial Patch will not work on them giving you a message that they are not a follower, unless you can get them to come off of there horses before you reach the temple.  Trybayless's Mod addresses this issue and fixes them automatically after fast traveling.  The only bug that the author addressed in a post on his mods nexus page is that if the Player Character has a Detect Life ability, the shader is lost on the followers after the Script is applied.  Truly a small price to pay for to fix a terrible bug in the game.  The author also stopped modding Oblivion so any future updates to OBSE could potentially end this fix.  However, it still works so, why not include it in your guide?

So, I updated/reverted the guide to hopefully improve the quality and maintenance.

I only update a small section of the guide when I have the energy.

I want to encourage people to change the wording of the whether that be omitting, editing, adding parts to improve the clarity or efficiency.

I'll look at it every now and then but go ahead, its a wiki and I'm terrible at these things.

Things should be using LOOT and Wrye, still no support for MO. I like MO but the obse plugins is a major issue which defeats the whole purpose of the program. I like everything to be accounted for like WB can.

Awesome Hishtup any many thanks friend!!!

I have to ask though, why LOOT and no more BOSS? it still seems a lot of mod authors are encouraging boss over loot, so just wondering your reasoning, has LOOT been updated?

I used opini and now none of my ini settings will save.  everytime I launch my game I have to re put in my graphic settings.  I also deleted ini to uninstall opini but it seems it's still staying.  Any ideas how to fix?

Run opini with raised permissions, I'll get a similar issue.

It could also be that the ini file is falged as read only which may present the issue

It was because of oblivion reloaded.  Every time I installed OR it wouldn't save any of my graphic settings.  Not sure why OR was causing but I just reformatted again so hopefully everything nasty has been cleared out.

Hi! I recently decided to replay Oblivion after something like 10 years... hoping it will not be so messed up to mod like skyrim is at the moment. Though I have to admit that the timing is bad since this guide is under reconstruction.

Anyway, I do not want to mod this game too much (I have no experience on modding oblivion, I used to play it on the xbox360), so I would like to play an almost vanilla game. Keyord here: "Almost"

Since at the moment the guide has only fixes, I searched on the web for other guides or tips for what other mods should I install, and I found a recent reddit post that suggested this mods:

• Unofficial Oblivion Patches
• Better Vegetation (150% option)
• Better Water
• QTP3 Redimized Texture Pack
• Bomret's Shivering Isles Texture Pack
• Animated Window Lighting System
• Realistic Leveling
• Oblivion Character Overhaul
• Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul

I would like to know what you guys think of this list and if there are any other mods that I should add to it, like UI mods, or other fixes that are not present in the guide at the moment.

All of those seem good, Not to srue what realistic levling does besides changing the leveling system lol.

I'd like to suggest this mod to the guide: EngineBugFixes

It's recent, and includes into an OBSE plugin several fixes, including the floating weapon fix (so that you can remove "Elz - No Floating Weapon" and free an esp slot).

I was going to look into that I just dont want another NVAC thing.

I found out about the "OblivionReloadedEsp.ini" which may contain some unwanted features and duplicate keybinds from what I want to recommend.

Anyone have any opinions?

Here is a dump of the default ones

  Reveal hidden contents

EDIT: Also does anyone notice how laggy the water is when OR's

[Shaders]
EnableWater = 1

It's pretty bad to the point where I can see where it loops. I've been seeing it for a long while but thought it was because my vsync wasn't working.

I have set ORLoaderQuest.StayOnTarget to 0 (I really hate that lock on feature) and set ORLoaderQuest.DualWielding to 0 (Although it shouldn't matter, since Equipment Mode has already been set to 0 into the other ini file).

I would agree with the first one, I'll add it later.

Thank you for updating this guide. The timing is off because I'm just starting to setup Oblivion for my son and everything here has been removed. I'm glad I saved a copy of an older version so I have the links and instructions for all the texture packs but I'm glad you have updated the guide to include OBGE 4.

I took was a little taken back by the use of LOOT vs. BOSS. Most people suggest BOSS for Oblivion, some even emphatically say stay away from LOOT. Of course I'll still give it a shot.

Can you include Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul in your guide? I started to use it instead of everything FCOM and I like it. It is very popular and frequently updated.

P.S. Can you include a link to the old guide? Just mark it 'unsupported' or equivalent.
