Has anyone heard from Cestral?

He's either still 'offline' (no Internet) or just busy with RL.

 

He posted this last month:

 

It will be a while before the next major update. I'm in the middle of moving preparations and will be without internet for a while once I arrive at my new home. I have very little time to spend on this right now and will only maintain it with support for mod updates until I've settled in at the new location.

Starac posted a new update for Skyrim Realistic Overhaul that includes updates to some previous SRO textures as well as some new textures.

I have just recently tested out the new Skyrim Realistic Overhaul 1.6, and was quite surprised by many of the changes that make the textures even more gorgeous than before.

 

His new textures, which also include updated old textures, look alot more detailed and clean compared to his previous versions.

 

Consequently though, it seems TPC does not recognize the new textures and does not add them to the game.

 

 

And now to my question.

 

Does anyone know of an estimated date in which TPC will be updated to incorporate this amazing update?

 

and if not,

 

Are there any alternatives to use SRO 1.6 that will work well with the current version of TPC?

 

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You could take the list of updated/new textures and edit the TPC batch file to incorporate the new textures. The syntax of the TPC batch file is quite straightforward. There is one line for each texture that is used. You only need to add a line for each of the new textures; updated textures will automatically be included.

 

Alternatively, if you make a folder with a copy of just the new textures you could take the resulting folder and load it after the TPC textures.

This has already been covered on the SRO thread, just install the full SRO update over TPC until a new TPC comes out that includes it. The textures are just too good not to use.

This mod looks like it could be a good addition to TPC. There around 30 textures/normals in this package not covered by TPC (or any other STEP mod for that matter), and judging from the images it's good quality.

Hello everyone and sorry for my disappearance. I am going through a very difficult time right now and am unable to work on this right now. If anyone from STEP wants to maintain updates for i.e. SRO and anything else that may have been updated, you can go ahead and do so either by a separate batch file that adds whatever is missing, or you can email me the additional batch lines necessary and I will add them into a new version of the TPC.

 

Rest assured that I will continue working on the TPC when I am able.

No worries, Cestral. You were undoubtedly burned out by TPC (A lot of work was put into it). So, take the time you need to work on things in RL. I don't have any doubts that someone will pick up on the updates and thus, continue on until you're able to. Anyways, good luck. We'll be waiting with patience;). Looks like Cestral's back, v1.72 was just posted:

- Added support for SRO v1.6.
- Renamed all folders to better reflect the actual mod names.
- Removed support for Soul Gems Differ due to "hidden" errors with the mod. Current save games using the TPC will receive a "missing content" note when you load them.
- Fixed a pathing error for Detailed Chests.
