Syrophir Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Thanks for all the good work so far, this mod really saves hours of pain from many, myself included. ^^ Also want to give thanks to the community for all the support given to the author. Sad to hear some authors feel the way they do about this, people can have great pride for their work, but why release anything in the 1st place if not want to share it. Besides, as said, this one doesn't really steal anything, just helpful for the end users who doesn't have the time or skills to browse through all the content in these mods and combine them into something they might like even more.
Neovalen Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Have a good break Cestral and thanks for the hard work, it is highly appreciated by most of us! Sorry to hear about Starac though, but your right, your not using his assets simply providing a way for users to use his assets. ;)
I2edShift Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Yup, the TPC is free and clear as far as the non-use of SRO. Starac's attitude in general is very... "Disappointing" shall we say? Also very narrow-minded, given the rules of the internet, the Nexus site in particular, and how people actually use mods in a realistic manner. Either way, enjoy your break, you've more than earned it.
MilesTeg Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Congrats for version 1.7 I still have to try it ingame :) I'm currently working on another little batch script that will automate the package extraction and sorting/preparation (installation part 2) for Cestrals script. Although you still have to download all mods, you just throw them all in one folder and run the script that will do all this tedious work etc. for you. Currently it's in alpha and works at least for me. Cestral might work on something more sophisticated, but this will be just a quick and dirty solution ;)
Kelmych Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 As others have already mentioned, thanks Cestral for the incredible amount of work you did getting a reviewed set of textures and meshes for Skyrim. Your review and then inclusion of SRO textures add more total SRO textures to STEP 2.2 than were in STEP 2.1.1b. I would have thought that the SRO author might have been pleased that after your critical review the SRO effort was appreciated in that so many of the textures being used in TPC and STEP are from SRO. As Cestral mentioned, if we load the full SRO before TPC and don't add the SRO mod to TPC's optional files folder the resulting set of textures used by Skyrim would actually be the same.
torminater Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Hey Cestral, thanks for this great stuff! I've got a little issue. I put all the optionals and required mods in there but somehow there are still files reported to have gone amiss: """ Datei riftenstonewall011.dds nicht gefunden Datei wrcitywall01_nnm.dds nicht gefunden Datei wrcitywall011.dds nicht gefunden Datei sgrass01_n.dds nicht gefunden Datei roaddetails01_nn.dds nicht gefunden Datei skyrimgalaxy.dds nicht gefunden """ German equivalent to "file XYZ not found" I'm using the Light version of TPC 1.7 with the STEP beta recommendations.
Neovalen Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Just as a note, I used all optionals and got 0 errors using full. Not sure the difference in light but wanted to post this informationally.
mattfromoz Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I just had 3 file not found. The galaxy one I understand as I did not use it. Not sure about the other one. The paths matched etc. Think it was from SRO but no problem really considering so many textures invloved. File not found - woodwalkway01.dds File not found - woodwalkway01_n.dds File not found - skyrimgalaxy.dds It looks amazing now and even with everything on max with enb I get an average of 25fps with a 1.25g card. Running off ssd so that is bound to help.
Kelmych Posted August 28, 2012 Author Posted August 28, 2012 Except for the last file, all those textures are from SRO. Perhaps they are somehow not in the Required Files/SRO folder. I get an error on skyrimgalaxy.dds because TPC loads it from both Enhanced Night Skyrim and HQ Milky Way Galaxy. I use the medium stars version of Enhanced Night Skyrim which doesn't have this file so the log shows an error; it is however loaded from HQ Milky Way Galaxy later in the batch script.
torminater Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Weird I was also using the 1024k version of SRO. Maybe some textures are just missing?
Farlo Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 We need an update for Ruins Clutter Improvement v2.3 >.
rpsgc Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Quote We need an update for Ruins Clutter Improvement v2.3 >.Can't we just drop the updated mod files into its corresponding folder and run TPC again?
Cestral Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Quote Quote We need an update for Ruins Clutter Improvement v2.3 >.Can't we just drop the updated mod files into its corresponding folder and run TPC again? No, you can't do that because the new files aren't included in the batch file. I have to add them, which I now have done with v1.71, as well as improved the logging function to include full file paths.
rpsgc Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 So, assuming a mod update doesn't include new files, one could just update it, right? Oh, and congratulations on the new logging function, it's brilliant.
