JudgmentJay Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 'Farlo said: Because he can handpick the best between multiple mods for each individual texture' date=' so I assume there's some better from SLOD and some better from R&UP&P (ugly acronym :P).[/quote'] I'm confused as to how these two are going to work together as well. SLOD only contains 1 texture/normal for potions and 2 textures/normals for poisons. These are applied to ALL potions and poisons. Radiant and Unique Potions and Poisons have a texture/mesh for every individual potion and poison. Looking through the comments in R&UP&P I found this from the author: Quote I know SLOD well as I love that mod and had it installed until I made my own. Unfortunately they are not compatible as SLOD is only one texture and one normal map that is applied to ALL bottles (based on which variant you choose). All of my meshes would have to be redone (which is well over 100) to point them back to the default SLOD texture, then I would have to make over 100 new normal maps and there's just no way I could do that in a reasonable amount of time. I wish it were easier because I love those bottles too
Cestral Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Not sure why he says they aren't compatible. I'm actually using it in combination with RUPP, and it greatly enhances the look of the bottles. I've probably checked 50 different bottles and I haven't found any issues with them save a couple of black pixel lines at the edge of SOME labels, but to be honest even that kind of looks enhanced because it gives the impression that the labels are slightly torn in the edges. I've tried both with and without SLOD ceramic and I would never in my life turn it off.
Cestral Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Aw man this stupid Soul Gems Differ. I've seriously spent like 5 hours on it today and I'm nowhere near done. After having pulled my hair to baldness after 2-3 hours I realized that gems on the ground fricken change color if you let them sit for a few seconds. No wonder nothing made sense. TPC definitely won't be out today anyway because this mod is taking way too much time to set up. Boo. :(

Not sure where he got it, but TC recommended these settings, you can use those for v1.7 and figure it out later. Â If you'd rather get it done, just let me know if you won't make it by Monday. Â I'm not sure when exactly I'll post STEP v2.2 but it should be sometime that day and I'd like to have TPC v1.7 out otherwise there will be a lot of mods missing for those who install it right out of the gate.
Cestral Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 No worries. It'll be done tomorrow. Maybe late at night, but it'll be done.

Farlo Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Quote I would if I had your email.farlo@step-project.com :D
freche Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 In prepare for STEP 2.2 and TPC 1.7 I'm thinking about DDSopting some of the textures for that TPC uses, especially the required packs. I'm wondering if there is any know issues with some files while using the recommended settings for v0.8 pre3 or if it's just to optimize?
Selway Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Some small nitpicks from my preparation for TPC 1.7: You might consider changing the wording in the "Additional Notes" section regarding the "Lush Trees Vurts Compatability Patch so that is more clear to beginners that, even though downloaded from the Trees HD page, it is installed into the Lush Trees folder. This could be confusing to some and thus might eliminate possible install errors. Also, you might consider renaming, and ordering alphabetically, the hyper link in your "Additional Notes" section for Skyrim Flora Overhall to Vurts Skyrim Flora Overhall. This would be more consistent with the alphabetical load order by matching the name of the note with the name of the actual file. Nit picky but might be useful to you. Awesome mod and thanks again for your incredible effort!
Selway Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Found one more concerning the Lush Trees Vurts Compatibility file. In the notes for SMIM, you state that Patches dont work with the TPC. I get what you were saying here but this might confuse some as the TPC uses a file from the Trees HD page that is labeled "Lush Trees Vurts Compatability PATCH." I think this is poorly labeled as perhaps it should be labeled an update instead. At any rate, this could cause confusion, as it did with me for a short time. You might consider rewording your SMIM notes to further eliminate some more possible install errors. I hope you dont mind this input. I figured that with the growth of the TPC, any elimination of possible install errors would be nice for everyone.
Cestral Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Don't mind the input? I appreciate the input. I will take a look at it. Regarding the Lush Trees patch. It should infact be extracted into the Trees HD folder because that's how the batch file priority is listed. Thanks! Oh and 1.7 is up now btw.
