rootsrat Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50324/? A retexture of Standing Stones, no explanation needed here, we all know VL series :) Not sure if this will be included in the All In One VL pack, so creating separate thread. Will need compares against Vanilla and current STEP (no mod in STEP mod to covers these currently, apart from a few moss dirt piles (SRO and Re-Defined Dungeons), but no actual stones). I will be able to make them early next week, Mon or Tue.
Octopuss Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 That guy is resourceful. I really like his work. I am not sure why he didn't make it an update to Dungeons and ruins though. Of course there's no harm in releasing it separately, but... The screenshots look awesome.
DoubleYou Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Nice! I had been using a separate mod to get better birth sign textures and will have to test these out!
Noobsayer Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I usually love the vivid stuff but I prefer the smoother look over these.
Neovalen Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I love these :) Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
rootsrat Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 Yeah, I am very pleased with these textures. Awesome work, they look awesome in game. I'll move it to testing.
Smile44 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I have these in game, snapped them up and they look great in game. :)
statmonster Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Looks like this might be in the latest version if his All in One.
Octopuss Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I think so, I believe version 1.7 is being uploaded today (something already appeared under patches).
EssArrBee Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I'll volunteer to take these on today. I was going to do the farmhouses, but this looks like much less work. Will be up soon.
Neovalen Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 This one is now included in v1.7 of the all in one (confirmed by me).
rootsrat Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 I'll volunteer to take these on today. I was going to do the farmhouses, but this looks like much less work. Will be up soon. This was my plan for today + dragon claws and some other clutter, but the release at work didn't go so well and I'm still stuck in the office unfortunately :/
EssArrBee Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 In the voice of a Mexican Soccer announcer: "SHADOW STRIPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I forget how bad it can be in vanilla, but there is so much of it, and I think it has to do with the parallax textures. Anyways.... HRDLC->VL Shadow Stone near, showing off the Rift Shadow Stone far Atronach Stone near, showing off the low area with the hot springs, I forget the name Atronach Stone far Steed Stone near, showing off some snow Steed Stone far Guardian Stones near Same, but with a stone activated might be the next one over Guardian Stones near again, different stone because it is in a shadow... ooooooohhhh.... Same Guardian stone activated Guardian Stone far It can be hard to see the VL stones in vanilla lighting, they have a lot of shadow stripping and I really can't express enough in screenshots how bad it is. I'll try to play around with some stuff to improve it, but vanilla is vanilla.
Neovalen Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 You know, many times we are discounting parallax mods due to having to use vanilla only. Why is it that STEP hasn't recommended ENBoost + Shadows and Parallax Enabled only at least? It would alleviate said problems and doesn't come with a huge perf hit.
torminater Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Hmm, it really doesn't look that good on those screens... Does it look better if you disable shadows completely for testings sake?
