Trexasle Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 My Stats CPU i5 2500k RAM 12gb AMD Radeon 6950 2GB 1TB 7200 RPM HDD (Skyrim) (Literally the same as yours.) Yeah I was confused too. But Again, it seemed that Disabling Compression did the trick. I'm used to losing FPS outdoors, but I find Indoor FPS loss to be sort of ridiculous.Â
redirishlord Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Maybe mod build and ini edits are a factor, I'm not a great resource in those areas. I know just enough to get myself in trouble, and survive, so far anyway.
z929669 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 My Riften dark issues were probably due to Dawn of Riften being installed in my load order. I had not thought to remove it after testing. I do continue to get morningfogs.ini in Riften though, even after leaving/revisiting. It seems to be the predoninant weather there, so not sure what is causing that.
Mangaclub Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 Well, it was always a mystery how Skyrim chooses its weathers :D i know weathers can be attached to certain locations though. Maybe CoT attached some of them there
Aiyen Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 It is quite simple.. there is a region defined by the region boundaries, and then there is a percentage chance for a given weather to be applied in that region. Then when it gets a bit technical is if you have quests, or effects which override the current weather by assigning a new one, like clear skies shout. But it will always revert to the default region after that. Each location is linked to a specific region, you can ofc. make unique regions and then put in your own weathers that way if you wish. As for riften.. it is almost always foggy by design there.
z929669 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I was just wondering why I am not getting any of the Riften weathers or the other fog weathers. Maybe I need the vividian extended weathers ... not sure if I have that active or not.
Mangaclub Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 Hm no the extended weatherd do not change things like that, do you have other weather mods running like EDWS ?
z929669 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Hm no the extended weatherd do not change things like that' date=' do you have other weather mods running like EDWS ?[/quote']Nope, I don't mix weather mods unless they are patched specifically for that (I am not too savvy with patching myself).
benhat Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Do you have any Soundmod installed? Audiooverhaul of Skyrim or Sounds of Skyrim?
benhat Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 there are compatibility patches for COT for those mods. maybe they help, restoring the region parameters, if you dont already have them installed.
phazer11 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I've told you before Zed you need to install a patch for CoT for AOS.Go here and look in the optionals.
z929669 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I've told you before Zed you need to install a patch for CoT for AOS.Go here and look in the optionals.Of course ... I was the one that added that to the guide, and it has nothing to do with the Riften weathers/lighting ;)
benhat Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 hehe, ok. sorry, now i see why it was funny :) i think it is just because of the chances, i am getting riftenweathers in that region, although often it is morningfogs because it just has the most fog weather IDs added to it. i am currently working on a little patch that will in essence do what EDWS does, more rain, more snow, more fog also maybe. going to change those fog weathers more to the nice COT Weather Patch Fogs maybe.
