Project Parallax Remastered

Parallax Mapping is an effect applied to textures in the game to give the illusion of full 3D depth, the best way to see this effect is to examine it first hand in game

-------------------

This mod is absolutely essential if you love great visuals, personally I've been using the SRO version. ENB is required, however.

It surely looks great!

Have you noticed any performance hits Neo?

Since in SR guide Skyrim HD then SRO is used and in addition I am using cabal's all landscape/city mods; do u think that i can still use the SRO version of this mod?

I did notice extra VRAM but of course it's cause there is a 3rd texture added. Cabal provides parallax with his mods so make sure they overwrite this one.

As for Skyrim HD... there is a Skyrim HD version on the site which may or may not be needed (since I use only towns and misc) but it'll be pretty easy to download both then tailor it to what we do use. Honestly haven't dug this far in yet since I only have SRO installed atm since I'm testing some new mods.

I use HD2 and then this. Followed up by Cabals (except his whiterun as I do not think it blends very well.) to overwrite. It works nicely enough.

As for performance then you need ENB enabled.. but you can use an extremely minimal version that has very little performance impact on most machines. Only low end laptops would properly be in the danger zone.

Hi Aiyen,

I am actually using all of SR textures optimized (HD2, SRO, etc..) + All of cabal's ones for caves/exteriors/whiterun.

If I understand correctly, cabal's textures have already parallax mapping implemented; therefore, have to load last as to override the others.

What I am not currently very sure about is which parallax version should I use...the SRO one or the Skyrim HD one?

I guess that I will have to go step-by-step in determining that unless u have a better idea...

P.S.: I am also using E-ENB with v.0.206 enbseries

Depends on your mod order.

Mine looks like this

SRO

Serious HD

HD 2k

Cabal

Everything else

If you want to use Cabals textures you have to make sure they are lower in your mod list then the other since then they will overwrite. Also Cabal have made the parallax texture for his own textures, hence you should ofc. use those or face weird distortions.

As for which version to use then that depends on which texture pack you have "the most of". With the above mod order then HD2 will be the most dominant pack and hence you should use that. If you have SRO last (but before Cabals) then you need to use that.

Any ENB version above v.119 is fine for parallax... but the higher versions are better in terms of the parallax code afaik.

Hope that helps.

So do I... the issue is how you place them relative to each other. If you place SRO after HD2 (Skyrim HD 2k) then you will mainly be using SRO textures.

If you have actually spent the time going over alot of the textures deciding which you like the best etc. then you will also have to go put in the parallax texture individually.

Hope that helps.. otherwise I did not understand the question.

I think that helps. I have it in the following order:

1.) Skyrim HD

2.) SeriousHD

3.) SRO

You are saying that I should use the SRO file. Right?

Also, where in the install order should I install this? Can I install it last?

In that case then yes SRO would contribute the majority of your textures, and hence you should use the SRO/vanilla version.

As for its placement. If you are using Cabals textures then place it before those. The parallax texture is its own file so it should not overwrite anything other then other parallax textures. (like normal maps have _n in their name parallax maps have _p)

I'm not sure what Cabal's textures are. Are those things like this?

Must have mod for me, adds so much to the game everywhere its not funny.

I use SRO, SeriousHD AND Skyrim2k just like that in Skyrim Revisited Legendary edition (except I decrease the texture sizes for small objects more aggressively, as I've had crashes on a UBER machine, with their standard recommendation.)

I use the SRO version of PP Remastered and place it at the bottom. Because SR-Legendary is based more around SRO than Skyrim 2K, so I get more benefit from PP Remastered.
