I appreciate all the work thats involved. I have been using the full STEP guide from the off and have not changed my mods apart from I was using the Backported ESL Support mod which I have now removed as per the updated instructions. I also went from L&W to L&W + PP. I have always been using the latest runtime 1.6.1170. Thanks I will see if I get anymore issues after disabling Backported ESL Support, if I do I will definitely try that fix. Maybe the Backported ESL Support mod could have been causing my SKSE issues? I will see if it happens again. I will look into Root Builder as I have not heard of that. One more thing, candles really tank the FPS. I’m assuming this is an ENB effect? If there is a way to gain some FPS back that would be appreciated. Typical scenario is to go to halls of the dead in Whiterun and look at the candles up close. I lose maybe 20 fps. Backported ESL is only a redundancy, but it's a possibility it could interfere in some way as such. Root Builder is a convenience and will only add another variable to manage/troubleshoot, IMO. Candles have particle lights, so setting particles too high via BethINI will tank performance. Try 5000-6000 if 7500 is what you are using.

Try 5000-6000 if 7500 is what you are using. I get 37.5fps at the candles at 2000 particles & 7500 particles so it's not that. Fires can also reduce fps but candles are the most extreme example of this.
DoubleYou Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Particle lights can unfortunately be extremely expensive for performance. You can toggle the enb setting for it off and see how badly it impacts.

Yeah, that's the conundrum. Next time I play Skyrim, I want to try out Community Shaders and see how well it looks for the performance.

You can try editing these two values to be '2' in enbseries.ini of the game directory. [COMPLEXPARTICLELIGHTS] NormalMappingShadowsQuality=1 ShadowQuality=0

[COMPLEXPARTICLELIGHTS] NormalMappingShadowsQuality=1 ShadowQuality=0 Oddly that actually reduced my FPS to 30! NormalMappingShadowsQuality was originally set to 1. ShadowQuality was originally set to 2. Edited April 10, 2024 by MightyCrow

MightyCrow Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 (edited) When using the bookshelf in the Apothecary in Breezehome, I am able to duplicate books if I: 1. Add a book to the bookshelf. 2. Read the book. 3. On the read book screen, take the book. 4. The bookshelf resets with the book back on there. 5. I am able to repeat this to get unlimited copes of the book. Very likely an error in our patch or a loophole one of the mods we're using.
iforironman Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 (edited) If you’re doing both “Lightning and Weather” and “Post-Processing”, the required update file for “Cathedral Weathers and Seasons” has been moved to its own, separate page on Nexus: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/116019 You need to install this as it’s a required dependency for one of the STEP patches. If someone who has permissions to edit the guide could update it accordingly, that would be awesome-sauce ☺️ Edited May 4, 2024 by iforironman

MightyCrow Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 Another bug, although it could just be a Skyrim bug. I use wireless headphones. If the headphones turn off/disconnect for any reason or i turn them off, when turning them back on there is no Skyrim game audio. There's not even any audio coming from my laptops speakers. I have to completely restart the game. If I load up the game without turning on my headphones, when I turn them on, the sound does not come out my headphones. I have checked my audio settings and headphones were definitely on and Skyrim was set to output to said headphones.

Sounds like it's inherent to the game, Steam, or your OS sound config. For many years, I've used a nifty little app, Audio Switcher, which resolves a lot of the audio config issues inherent to Windows.
