Setting a custom path for a screenshot directory via BethINI Pie is sadly not recognized by this mod, specificially by the default enabled fix 'Validate Screenshot Location' (while looking for a specific setting in Skyrim INI) which then resets the path to the Skyrim root directory. Setting 'Validate Screenshot Location' to 'false' enables the initially and individually set custom path again. This is also mentioned on the Nexus forums a few times.

I've never noticed this, because I use FRAPS for screens/video. Maybe @DoubleYou is aware of this, but it sounds like we may want to add this to this mod's installation recommendations.

Thanks for this! I have verified and added instructions for this to the mod page.

In my opinion this mod should be moved to base fixes of the game in the same level as SSE Engine fixes.

Its even more important than display tweaks.

I assume you are referring to the Step SSE guide? It's in 09-Fixes, because it has a lot of optional gameplay fixes that depend on play style rather than just engine-level or display-level fixes.

Mod updated today to version 1.12.0:

Fixes: Add MagicItemFindKeywordFunctor crash fix
Fixes [Screenshot Validation]: Fixed issue where validator would treat screenshot prefix as a directory
Tweaks [Faction Stealing]: Now checks if ALL (unique or persistent) actors are friendly with the player, instead of just the actors currently present in the area.

The Screenshot directory validation fix is now working, so there is no more need to modify the mod's INI when using BethINI Pie for setting a screenshot directory path. (See posts from August)

Seems to work okay for me.  My screenshots go into F:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Screenshots which I set using BethINI Pie.  I confirmed that sScreenshotBaseName in Skyrim.ini is set to this path.  And the powerofthree's Tweaks INI setting 'Validate Screenshot Location' is set to true.  Maybe this "bug" occurs if the sScreenshotBaseName setting is also in SkyrimCustom.ini and it's overwriting the value set in Skyrim.ini?

EDIT: Or is ..\Skyrim Special Edition\Screenshots the default path?  I thought the default location where screenshots are stored was the base game folder where the game's executable is.

Yes, it is fixed now and working with the latest version.

I think the initial bug is best explained on the first page down of the mod's bug reports, titled ""Validate Screenshot Location" does not account for filename prefix" on
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/51073?tab=bugs
