It's just a village with nothing to do so it's just filling space. I think Helarchen Creek is the same; it's just generic content that fills space. No real reason to go there. Thank you. This is exactly why i've been omitting Oakwood, Helarchen Creek and also Oblivion Gates from my STEP install. (With all the additions from AE there is already this feeling of 'Overcrowdedness' in Skyrim) Maybe STEP would consider communicating these mods as optional?

It does add a bit of exploration value, albeit not much at all. Nice to visit a town that was in TES:Arena though.

I don't use Arthmoor's Oakwood and Helarchen for this reason. It is nothing but filler. So I would support dropping them both. I have tried Schlitzohr's Oakwood and it looks and works better than Artmoor's version, in my opinion. But that is personal preference I guess.

Optional would be good as I'd prefer to keep it. Arthmoor's Oakwood is currently required by the CR patch so for me to even consider the other Oakwood may cause issues.
Mercury71 Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Mod updated on AFK v1.0.10 Added the investor perk for the shop to the formlist used by USSEP to clean up perk resets when reading Black Book: Waking Dreams.
Crimson13 Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 No one would happen to have a pre-anniversary version around would they? I forgot that Arthmoor doesn't archive any older versions and I accidentally replaced the old one I had when I forgot to change the name. Wouldn't be that much of an issue if the SE Step Patch I have didn't need Oakwood but the latest Oakwood wants everything AE.
Greg Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 The latest guide version requires Skyrim Special Edition 1.6.640 with the free creation club content and the Anniversary Edition bundle of creation club content as well.
Crimson13 Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I'm aware, not a fan buying the game for the third time so I haven't. Guess I'll have to get rid of the old STEP patch then.

Crimson13 Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Problem is with changing the master is that I have the old STEP patch and that I need the old Oakwood so xEdit can load them up. The updated Oakwood I replaced wants the new AE CC content which I don't have.
MightyCrow Posted May 6, 2024 Posted May 6, 2024 I have a bug with this mod. The shop, Rorlimir's Finest Sundries is permanently locked. I have reported the issue to Arthmoor but he insists this was fixed in a prior version. Can anyone else verify this? During the day it should be open. I have tried to probe xEdit but I am not sure how to check the door schedule. I've found the lock data but not sure this is the right place to look.

MightyCrow Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 Hmm, then I'm not sure why it's not working for me. Are you using the full Step guide with up to date mods?

I have the same issue (running 1.6.1130 + full STEP 2.2.0 + Oakwood 1.0.11) with a few of the mods updated to restore compatibility). It never bothered me significantly, so I haven't attempted to troubleshoot the issue further. But figured I'd let you know that you aren't alone. Edited May 19, 2024 by PsychoYoshi 1
