Particle Patch (by mindflux)

Version 1.2.6 re-introduces the esp, which still only contains modifications to the Fire FX Shaders and still can be hidden or deleted when using loose files.

"Version 1.2.6

Fixed (and improved) light mist effect custom texture.
The plugin is now always installed (it's needed to load the BSA)."

Will need to look at what the plugin even does. It should be useless.

The esp modifies six (Fire) 'Effect Shader' files and in all cases sets a 'Particle Shader - Dest Blend Mode' to 'One' (?). Only one of these files, 'FireFXShader', is already being a bit more extensively modified by 'Embers XD' and would be the only minor conflict.

It would likely be a good foundation to cover anything that isn't already covered up the pipeline (ie Embers XD).

The mod is renamed to jsut "Particle Patch"

I think we can just let that go, since it's specific to post processing only. I'd rather retain its old name, since it's not fundamentally different, IMO.

Agree. But good to have our comments about it here since Step Guide users might ask about it. I think it has always been a strange name since so many people use the mod without using ENB.

Well, I changed my mind about renaming the mod and went ahead with this change. This is because our original title (Skyrim SE particle patch for ENB) was wrong or based upon some really old version of the file.

With the updated instructions, should the esp now be used? Thanks.

Correct. It's fixing a few effect shaders now rather than making cell edits. We missed that in a past version:

Version 1.2.5

  • The plugin now only contains fixes to Fire FX shaders.

1.3.1 is the latest version.

Mindflux uploaded an update file...Magic Light Update.  D1Z4STR asked what changed and Mindflux provided this...

I fixed a sorting problem causing the floating orb to flicker, balanced the brightness of the different elements, improved the radiating particles a bit plus added particle lights.

I am considering not using Battle Ready Candlelight Fixes in place of Mindflux's - Magic Light update (mesh) from his update files. I am not bothered about the position of the candlelight personally and care more about its luminescence and attached particle. I have to test both. Plus, the Magic Light update includes a few more meshes that are not used in STEP.

Interesting update. I also already deactivated 'Battle Ready Candlelight Fixes' hoping for the meshes from'Partlcle Patch' to be more consistent with both the spells Candlelight and Magelight and other light effects 'Particle Patch' handles.
