z929669 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 We need to contact the authorLooks like this is available on Tes Alliance (which has a ridiculously difficult reg process, but it is doable). I have messaged the author on that forum and will get back when I have a response.
Mossyfunk Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 The link in the S.T.E.P wiki took me to the Tes Alliance page, but it's unclear if it is the RW version, just says 1.0 and nothing in the changelog.
TechAngel85 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Yeah, it's only available there now. If you want it, you'll just have to use what the author uploaded there. This might be up for being dropped if the author will not reupload elsewhere because we can't be asking own members to sign up on another site just to download one mod. PM and I'll send you the RW version if that is what you need. Else, just use what the author uploaded.
torminater Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Or we get the permission to reupload his mod in his name ourselves!
TechAngel85 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Or we get the permission to reupload his mod in his name ourselves! From his page:Usage Rights/Permissions: Do not upload this mod to another site. ==================Modder's Will:================== Please leave my Projects where they are currently hosted, do NOT re host them. If the Projects are no longer available if/when I return I will re-upload them myself.
z929669 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I think the Tes Alliance version is the RW version. I vaguely remember checking that out. It is fine to point our users to TA. It is a good site, and users don't have to download the mod if they don't want to. The point is that it is a legit source for the mod.
torminater Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Well, asking doesn't hurt anybody, but I get what you mean.
PlanetExp Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Haven't tried this but Viking homes didn't have chimneys but rather a hole in the middle of the roof where the light came down during the day and the smoke out during the night. Used to work in a Swedish outdoor folk museum (or how the hell you call it).. I think chimneys are a rather late invention but don't take my word for it :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
rootsrat Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Only thing is, Nords are not Vikings. Sure, there is an obvious inspiration, but it's different in many many ways, possibly including chimneys :D
TehKaoZ Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Well this mod simply adds consistency between interior and exterior. The fireplaces exist in vanilla Skyrim already, but there was never any corresponding chimneys outside.
LxRxN Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I've checked the mod (the one available from TES Alliance) in TES5Edit, and it looks very crude - i think it contains wild edits. It deletes some objects (furniture, wine bottles, etc), moves other objects (also does add chimneys, obviously). Also changes some location names to something Cyrillic.
