DoubleYou Posted August 8, 2016 Author Posted August 8, 2016 Thanks for the kind words everyone! I might be a little sparse, as I'm trying to focus more on real life at the moment. There's some important stuff I need to make sure I handle appropriately. Found 1 bug so far that was a stupid minor error that will be fixed next release:-Bugfix: Particles could have duplicate preset numbers after the GUI was refreshed after certain actions.@TechYes, this is now in a state where I can recommend it to replace the INI section of the official STEP Guide.@Tyler799This is a correct observation and correct behavior at this point. I may add a check to remember this at some point, that was a lot of code, and I'm still developing it, so I figured I would wait.@NebIt checks to see if Skyrim Flora Overhaul.esp is in your load order. Now that I think about it, I think there are multiple esp versions , so I probably need to gather a list of them to make sure this is always detected.
Gernash Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 I've been using this for Fallout 4 and I thaught I might share some observations. Was linked to it from fINIp on nexus. TAB 2Resolution does not have 16:10 formats (1920x1200;1680x1050;1440x900) if you want to use scaling.I was unable to get scaling to work if I selected a lower resolution and ticked Windowed mode,Borderless and Maximize WindowTAB 6no Wetness , rain occlusion, anbient occlusion, motion Blur, water reflection, vsyncGeneral IssuesNo pitboy related settings Disable FX (for colored map/pitboymenu) set color settings etcBe nice to have an advanced tab with all the settings exposed for tinkering/breaking the ini filesNo camera tabOther than that nice and stable Hope this feedback helps.
DoubleYou Posted August 8, 2016 Author Posted August 8, 2016 Yes, I need to add more features to the Fallout 4 version. And the resolution thing could be improved. It's designed so that it should detect your native resolution, however, and put that on the list, so I have pretty much left that on the back burner. Vsync is there. You must have missed it. Pipboy color is much easier to modify within the in-game settings, and you can see them instantly in-game, so I probably won't be adding that. As for the advanced tab with all the settings exposed, I don't think I'll be doing that. That is like a lot of work for very little actual functionality. Your favorite text editor is perfect for that kind of thing.

Avastgard Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Make sure to check your GPU's temperature often, then. I didn't even use ENB (only ENBoost) and my GPU got toasted (though I am not sure that was the reason).

DocDoBig Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) Hey I was redirected by a user on /r/skyrimmods to check out this mod, I just wanted to ask if I am able to accomplish the following with tweaking the ini correctly: My idea was to to screenshot the map multiple times and stitch the screenshots together for a higher resolution map. Unfortunately the worldmap camera angle hinders me from that, I tested it with two screenshots here, as you can see the map markers are widely shifted from each other which is really a bummer I wanted to compile a large worldmap with all new World Spaces and new lands mods like Wyrmstooth Falskaar Beyond Reach and such, which I'd gladly share once it's finished So I'd like to know if I can adjust the ini to either screenshot the whole map or to modify the camera angle for having a nice straight top down view? DoubleYou Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 Tick the "Fix Map Menu Navigation" checkbox. You should hover over it and read it. Basically you probably are going to need a straight down view, which you can get. I'm not sure that it will work, because of the dynamic nature of the map, unfortunately, but it might. Relevant INI settings are discussed here: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Skyrim_INI/MapMenu
DocDoBig Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) Ah sweet thanks for the answer! I was checking this thread everyday for a reply EDIT: Great!! fMapWorldMinPitch sounds like exactly what I needed Edited August 15, 2016 by DocDoBig
DocDoBig Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Nope unfortunately it still has the same effect (curse you Bethesda Worldmap designers!) BUT, your mod did the incredible for me, normally I would CTD when opening any indoor cell map of the Tamriel worldspace, I tried everything, people suggested me it's a broken ENB, other users suggested me I have too many mods, I tried everything possible under the sun to fix that but nothing worked Then I ran BethINI just to see if I can realize my project, it didn't but luckily it had the fortunate side effect that it improves my map, so I went to a cell, opened my map and voila no CTD anymore. I cant thank you enough for (unknowingly) fixing my problem! Your ini optimizer rocks!
hishutup Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 So I was taking a look at using this in my guide but there are several INI tweaks that I want people to use and I was wondering would it be possible to add a feature?Basically, what I think would be ideal is a package of ini files that can be added to bethini, so that they can tick each tweak that would be applied last. The closest thing I can think of is how MO handles mod ini tweaks. I cannot just use MO due to OBSE and Steam.
Kelmych Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 I have a similar question for using BethINI with the Fallout 3 guide. There are a few INI settings that would be useful to add for all users, and it would be useful to detect whether "Flora Overhaul" is present and if so add one setting.
DoubleYou Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 Any tweaks recommended for all users I would want to know so I can add them to the Recommended Tweaks checkbox. @hishutup It sounds like you are wanting the Wrye Bash INI tweaks kinda thing. I think you can make those with text files. Or you might see if a plugin INI would work, although I don't know if they exist for Oblivion. @KelmychProvide the name of the ESP and I can make a rule for it. Realize that such rules would only apply after the mod is installed, so you might need to have users run the program twice.
DoubleYou Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 @DocDoBigThanks for the feedback. The only other thing you might try is increasing your fov (use the console fov command) and see if you can't get a view of the entire map. There are a number of ways your map could have been bugged to cause it to CTD. I have a number of checks in the program to fix many such errors, so it is very possible it was one of those.
