I did the test with TPC and it works
I already have 

bUseCombinedObjects=0

bUsePreCulledObjects=0

in Fallout4Custom.ini

I added the same lines in Fallout4.ini

still the same

Somehow it looks like bUsePreCulledObjects=0 in not read properly by engine, because If I type TPC, console says "PreCulling is now disabled"

When I use bUseCombinedObjects=0 and bUsePreCulledObjects=0 and start a new game the vault gate and platform disappear. Setting them back to 1 the gate and platform come back.

Just popped back in after not doing much with the game for two weeks and notice that the table of contents in the wiki is always open and in the middle of the screen. :/

So Unique NPCs has been added ... great! I see that Varied Diamond City Guards is still in the guide but that is included in Unique NPCs.

Sim Settlements is more like an additional thing you can have as some people still with to build their own settlements and have vender stalls etc.

Unique NPC is added but I've not completed the updates etc. (I've had IRL things to contend with)

Oh hey by the way all that business with Everyones Best Friend and Start Me Up... may have been just a weird glitch?  Everything with the Codsworth convo went as expected on a new game.

 

That being said, I hadn't realized it edits the HC_manager script (packed in BA2), and I'm using a mod for Sleep Healing Removal which edits that script.  

So I ditched it for Unlimited Companion Framework.  I'd imagine you're aware, but thought I'd throw it out there - pretty sure Horizon edits that script as well, though I don't know if you're still working on that Survival/Hardcore addon?

EFF was always my favourite follower mod for Skyrim, and Expired is just plain an amazing, trusted author that has been making seminal mods for a long time now.  So far have recruited Dogmeat and Codsworth and everything is peachy.

 

I've finally completely nailed down my survival overhaul and am actually playing and really enjoying it.

I was absolutely wrong about food healing in Survival mode btw.  It's critical that all healing is completely removed from food if you ask me.  Otherwise it doesn't really feel like 'Survival'.

Unsure of a mod that did that, and not really wanting to get rid of Wastelanders Cookbook, I actually went through and hand-edited every vanilla food item as well as everything added by WCB to provide a small buff to health rather than healing.

Agreed. Not a problem. I'm actually restarting because I've been gleaning things done. unfortunately for every mod I remove I end up adding a Sim Settlement addon. :/

 

Is it safe to play as is (with Unique NPCs)?

Just for kicks, I'm posting the mods I add/don't use with this guide. I'd love any suggestions concerning them.

I was using Northlanddigger Crafting (superseded by Sim Settlements) and Don't Call Me Settler (was going to keep for Animal Paradise but decided against it).

 

Mods I use that aren't in the guide. Most are texture replacers that I prefer.

What is this in your load order: NoSharedDogmeatTemplate.esp?

 

Should we have Better Settlers Clean Faces and nolollygagging in our load order? From the unique NPCs file?

This is from Better Companions mod optional files. it isolates Dogmeat from Raider dogs. Description:"Dogmeat changes from ANY mod will not affect raider dogs".
