Kelmych Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 EZ2C Dialogue Menu - configurable - better navigation and control provides improved control of dialog boxes, similar to that provided by Better Dialog Controls. The EZ2C mod provides configurability of some of the control and display including fonts, text color, etc. Currently this is done with a config file (dialoguemenu.cfg) but the author said they are looking at changing this to use the Mod Configuration Menu, similar to the approach used by SkyUI 3.0 and some other interface mods.
Spiffyman Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I believe theCompiler is a fan of this mod as well. I'll probably take a look at it once the mcm version is out (as well as the official SkyUI version, rather than a beta). It seems to have far more configuration than I'd need, but there is one thing I'm curious about. It says you can change the font (11 to choose from), so I wonder if these are better than the font mod included in STEP. If so, this could replace it.
phazer11 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Anyone looked at this? It keeps getting brushed under the rug/radar for some reason.
Allsunday Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I'm done trying to draw attention to some mods. Same happened to me with Ultimate Combat here and it's simply amazing. Gonna give it a try, seems like a good replacement to Better Dialogue Controls.
DoubleYou Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I've had this on my tracking list for a while, but never get around to it, mostly because I'm scared of the config file ;)
EssArrBee Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Is it compatible with EFF? EFF incorporates the Better Dialogue stuff.
SSL Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I don't see reason why it could conflict. It would simply overwrite EFF's .swf with different one. EFF should still work.
Neovalen Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 EFF swf has code required for the menu system. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
Skadi Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I've had this on my tracking list for a while' date=' but never get around to it, mostly because I'm scared of the config file ;)[/quote']The config file is laid out to be extremely helpful and easy to use. It has a series of commented examples and settings that you can copy/paste. Personally, this mod saves me a bunch of eyestrain playing on my TV.Â
EssArrBee Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 The page says compatible with better message box but not better dialog controls. That would make me consider this. Though many things about moving stuff is in less intrusive HUD 2 or minimal HUD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gonna give it a try, seems like a good replacement to Better Dialogue Controls.I think this is mainly because combat mods are a matter of personal taste. They dont fix bugs, they mainly change the gameplay. There is a reason why almost all mods in STEP are either bugfixes, textures, meshes, interface changes, animations or sounds etc. Afaik there isnt even a Lighting Mod/Weather overhaul recommend, since its personal taste and the community is splitted. If used this mod (EZ2C) for a long time, but i changed to better dialoge and message boxes just for simplicity. I like it when mods do something and stop there. No need for further configuration. I have not felt any difference, but to be honest i dont spend much attention to it either, als long as it works.

I wonder how can someone use the vanilla combat system tho, but I guess this is off topic.
statmonster Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Maybe I'm wrong here, but while it would be out of scope for Core STEP or the like, combat mods could definitely be used as part of a "pack" and thus would be worth discussing. 1
