FML this CTD on save :(

Thanks for testing installation procedures; we'll get the issues in the wiki ironed out.  I have some time this weekend to check over the DBM changes and I'll see about digging u that old Book of UUNP patch I did.

OH MY ******* GOD. I'VE SOLVED IT.

Or at least, I've identified the problem. I think the problem has to do with what Reqtificator does with CRPatch.esp.

There's something in there causing all of this CTD problem.

So the solution? DISABLE the Conflict Resolution Patch mod when running Reqtificator.

I did that, and now I can save whenever I damn well please, even during the Skyrim Unbound opening without doing the player.kill thing.

Since I merely narrowed things down for you JD, and Seshon already took all the first-borns, I'll take second-borns as payment.

EDIT: Yeap, re-ran Reqtificator with the CR patch again, and lo and behold, the CTD on save returns.

Ellilea mentioned that a long time ago.  Thing is... I can do the whole finish line with CRPatch enabled no problems... and doing it without CR patch essentially nullifies all of the npc item and list fixes/modifications.

I'm still stumped on this unfortunately.

Yeah, Ellilea and me have both been there, we even seperated the CRPatch into two ore more files and reqtified only partially. Both got it to not crash if only the LeveledItem section was excluded. Thing is you don't want to loose those changes from the CRPatch and JD has no problems, Diana has not and I got rid of it as well and can now reqtify the full patch without CTD on save.

But there's something else that caught my eye, when someone asked it on the Requiem Patch Central, about adding <<REQ:"TT"; REQ:Temper; REQ:Unroll>> to the mod description if merging thetrader's patches. I noticed that his Immersive Armors and Weapons patches and so on all have a {{BASH:Delev,Relev}} entry in the mod description. Maybe the CRPatch would need this entry as well, though I don't understand this enough to be sure. Do you know more about this, JD?

JD, because I'm a masochist, I went into the CRPatch and started deleting **** left and right.

Eventually narrowed down the problem to three items in the Leveled Item category. Their EditorIDs are:

DX_Imperial_Gear
DX_Imperial_GearNoTorch
DX_Imperial_Missile_Bow

These items don't appear anywhere else in the load order (so no idea what conflict they're supposed to resolve), and removing them from CRPatch.esp, followed by Reqtificator, allows me to save again.

Hope this ends the CTD on Save issue.

EDIT: Double-checked. Yup. I can save to my heart's content.

I'd had those removed after checking the CRpatch for errors with xEdit and they were reported. CTD on save wasn't resolved by this for me.

Did you re-run Reqtificator after that?

Any additional mods on top of this guide?

The only other thing I can think of is if you did not install the optional stuff (ECTV, PCE, etc.), and therefore there are other records in the CRPatch that doesn't really resolve any conflicts.

EDIT: Please try the attached CRPatch.esp

Just to avoid any potential issues with versions, since mine is modified from very latest file posted a few pages back.

I already wrote how I got rid of the CTD on save for me yesterday, and other stuff I tried and so on a few pages back. As for your suspicion, I rolled back to the unmodified CRpatch from JD's dropbox that still contains the 3 DX entries. Rereqtified (including JD's restore script), started a new game and CTD on save, then I deleted the content of the Requiem Output folder and rereqtified again (including JD's restore script), new game and I could save without CTD. So no CTD on save with the CRPatch still containing those 3 entries, which by the way don't appear in the Requiem for the Indifferent.esp anyway.

Seeing how poor JD is tormented by this damn CTD on save error, I tried to delve a bit deeper into the entries of the Leveled Items. I have divided it into 4 categories,

"White" (not appearing elsewhere),

"Leveled Item" (starting with Litem),

"Death" (starting with DeathItem),

"Other" (well, the rest).

Seems that the culprit sits somewhere in the Litem category. Which is it? I don't know, there's too many of them to check and it seems that every install has its own problems so idk :D Maybe it will help you see some entry different than others that could be potentially troublesome or whatnot. I don't know.

If some strike you as odd/possibly troublesome let me know and I'll try to Reqtify it without that specific entry/entries.

Looking things over in xEdit, I wonder two things:

1. If I manually move the missing CR patch entries in RftID will it be okay?

2. Why are there so many conflicts between RftID and CAR/IW/stuff like that? Are these entries not transferred and overwritten by blanks on purpose or should I move them too? I mean the ones that CR patch would overwrite with blanks as well, so I guess that's how it should be? But why then?

But johnnywatts test video reminded me of something else. If the LECM merge is done with copy assets then the Noble Skyrim SMIM patch gets overwritten again with the SMIM textures as you can see on the too bright wood pillars. So the LECM Merge should either be done merging only esps (what I did since it's fairly wide spread in the left pane) or some stuff like the Noble SMIM Patch need to be moved below the LECM merge.

If other people can test the modified CRPatch.esp I posted above, it'll be great. Then we can at least figure out if thenewkid's issue is something else, or if it indeed is the CRPatch.

I've gone through the lot in Leveled Item (that's how I ended up on the above 3 DX entries, process of elimination). Deleting all the other entries doesn't seem to resolve the CTD issue.

I agree it should be moved. Looking in MO's conflict list, the entire SMIM patch one has 1 file that isn't overwritten by the LECM merge.

Unless that's the intention from the beginning.

Good catch... This isn't an issue with the SMC version.

I've finally finished the install process. Next step is to help Diana with the testing.

Here are the remaining issues that I found:

22. [Minor] CLARALUX merge instructions directs user to place merged folder under CLARALUX - Blowing in the Wind. Integration page says it should be CLARALUX - Official Patches.

23. [Minor] Insufficient instructions for Phinix Natural ENB. User is not told which folder to install within 2-ToDataFolder.

24. [Major] ISC Patches Merge instructions include "ISCompendium AOS Patch.esp" from ISC - AOS Patch folder. This folder was not created anywhere in the guide.

25. [Minor] Instructions for importing Phinix Natural ENB in ENB Organizer does not describe any actual button available in the Organizer. e.g., there is no "Search for Folder" button.

26. [Typo] Missing a "(" in WLSO - Fantasy Sountrack Project (non-replacer).

27. [Major] No such archive in CORE PACK named "WLSO - Requiem Realistic Darkness Patches".

28. [Minor] FOMOD instructions for Frostfall does not reflect actual choices given by the mod.

29. [Major] No such archive in OPTIONAL PACK named "TK Dodge - Requiem Destiny".

30. [Minor] User is directed to perform ECTV merges again after installing CFTO.

31. [Minor] Link for Settlements merge directs user to ECTV merges instead.

32. [Minor] Instructions for Settlements Expanded with Inns merge includes "Settlements Expanded - NSUTR Patch.esp". Might be better if it says "Settlements Expanded - No Snow Under the Roof Patch.esp" instead, since that is the actual file name.

33. [Major] Link for Extensible Follower Framework Compatibility Collection goes to Optimized Vanilla Textures, instead of the correct Nexus page.

34. [Major] Link for FISS - FileAccess Interface for Skyrim Script goes to Optimized Vanilla Textures, instead of the correct Nexus page.

35. [Major] Link for Immersive Armors Dwarven Mage glove mesh fix goes to Optimized Vanilla Textures, instead of the correct Nexus page.

36. [Major] Link for Modern Brawl Bug Fix goes to Optimized Vanilla Textures, instead of the correct Nexus page.

37. [Major] Link for PapyrusUtil - Modders Scripting Utility Functions goes to Optimized Vanilla Textures, instead of the correct Nexus page.

38. [Minor] WLSO merge instructions include "requiem-realistic-darkness__usleep.esp", which cannot be found anywhere in the guide.

39. [Minor] User is directed to Merge page BEFORE installing CR Patch ECTV. This results in user being unable to successfully merge WLSO, since it wlso__ectv.esp is missing its master crpatch__ectv.esp.

40. [Major] crpatch__ectv.esp is missing its master Settlements Expanded.esp. That plugin was merged earlier into Settlements Expanded with Inns Merged.esp.

41. [Major] Survival Mods (Frostfall, Campfire) were not included in the load order.

42. [Minor] Reqtificator instructions directs user to "check all three options as in the image below". There is no image.

43. [Minor] sLanguage=English is not defined for some reason after following the guide. This results in Reqtificator unable to complete.

I will try to address all of these this weekend. I spent all day yesterday troubleshooting why I can't install Windows 7 on my new PC. It seems all of my USB ports are 3.0 or 3.1 and I have to slipstream some drivers into my installation software. It's been a headache trying to make this newer technology backwards compatible with everything that isn't up to date, including my printer, which I use all the time. Anyway, I'll catch up with reading all the info from this forum later today. Thank you again for all the help.
