JUNKdeLUXE Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I've been doing the Clear and Present Danger install during the last 2 weeks, and they (and wiki pages it link to) have been progressively had more and more load time. The forums on the other hand still seem fine. Not sure what the problem is.
0 stoppingby4now Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 We had a 4X increase in normal traffic, and had a configuration issue that was rectified. Should be performing a lot better since yesterday early evening.
0 TechAngel85 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I've been working some on the wiki today and it does seem a bit sluggish.
0 z929669 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Yes, sluggish in past 30 min for me too. I am guessing that the backup was/is in progress and that it will be back up to normal speeds shortly. I had thought s4n changed the time/freq of that process, but not sure.
0 TechAngel85 Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 No matter the time of day I've visited the wiki, it's been slow. The rest of the internet is zippy zip.
0 JUNKdeLUXE Posted June 12, 2016 Author Posted June 12, 2016 I'm having the problem again now... a simple page like these: https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Kelmych/Fallout3_INIs has taken me 10 minutes to load. I'm still waiting for: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Skyrim_Launcher to open.
0 GrantSP Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 I don't know whether it's because I may be accessing another server than the rest of you in the northern hemisphere, but lately the wiki has been rather "snappy" for me. Those links in the last post open instantly for me.
0 Greg Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I tried those same links around 12:45 today and they were slow. The first link took about a minute to open and maybe 20 or 30 seconds to open the second link. Just tried again and those links are snappy now.
0 Kelmych Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I'm trying to fix an error in the Changelog for the FO3 guide and it's hopeless. I keep getting 504 errors.
0 z929669 Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Some pages load fast, and others load very slow ... behavior is inconsistent, because a page that loaded fast a minute ago can load very slow at present, and vice versa. I texted s4n about it.
0 Nebulous112 Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I had been noticing some slowdowns, but just now I tried to reach a few different pages on the wiki and they will not load. It was right around the turn of the hour, and is still occurring for me. Perhaps this is the scheduled backup time? In case not, I thought I would mention it.
0 JUNKdeLUXE Posted June 13, 2016 Author Posted June 13, 2016 Ye.. I'm getting 504's now as well (Gateway Time-out)
0 paul666root Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 What is wierd that the forums work fast everytime.... only the wiki pages are slow. Sometimes don't load at all. Aren't they on the same server ?
0 TechAngel85 Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Yes, but they're different software so they use different amounts of resources for different tasks. My guess is that the wiki backup somehow got reverted back to before S4N's fix or just the fix was reverted. Surprisingly our servers are stressed from time to time and we're getting close to needing to upgrade again. Not to mention the wiki software is really getting dated so simply updating it might relieve some of the issue. All things we have planned whenever we can find the time.
