  1. This is because the "Skyrim" flag isn't properly set when you first install bash. This causes the bashed patch to be created in oblivion format which doesn't allow you to merge esp's created with the official CK. Fix this by deleting all oblivion files and manually copying the Bashed Patch, Skyrim.esp to the data directory and renaming it bashed patch.esp
  2. The specific functionality of TESxEdit has not been replicated, last I heard Elminster was waiting for fully decoded record types before porting to Skyrim, that was in early march. Source . Unfortunately Skyedit, TESVsnip , and the CK just don't have a conflict checker. You could manually dump all the edits into a spreadsheet and compare the two sheets for overlaps, but thats inefficient to say the least.
  3. The author is very active and has not been informed of the ctd's you mentioned, I'm sure he will take care of it if he can reproduce them.
  4. Yeah all of the skyproc mods require a new fresh game to work properly, old saves just don't cut it. At least until we have a save cleaning utility.
  5. Here's a simple sort of automation, batch file. You could probably make something a bit more complex if ddsopt supports command line switches. Skyrim Installation
  6. Feel free to do it yourself Bealdwine, the wiki editing guide is linked in the citizenship guide and do a search for highslide in the wiki to see some examples of how to use graphics.
  7. Discussion thread: Ars Metallica-Smithing by Arthmoor Wiki Link Ars Metallica - Smithing Enhancement I like the philosophy of this one and its by a trusted author. Extremely balanced and immersion driven update of the crafting system. Works well with Community Uncapper.
  8. Oh I see, I had assumed that the 102 files were scattered all over the directory structure, if its just 2 directories should be simple enough to copy with explorer and add those directions to the wiki. On the ini edits, it certainly makes sense, but I doubt that it actually results in a performance increase. If it does please do let us know.
  9. Use ddsopt to copy those 102 files for you, not explorer. BTW how are you selecting these files is it a list of known files with ddsopt problems?
  10. Better to copy those 102 files before you run the optimization. Then you don't have to manually uncheck them, they will be skipped automatically by default. Passthrough only works for file types, not individual filenames.
  11. This removes the need to rely on fences in order to sell stolen goods, definitely immersion breaking. May be appropriate for a hack N slash mod pack for players that want to avoid all the thievery elements in game.
  12. I don't have a computer good enough to run it but I would guess that dof post processing would virtually eliminate z fighting based on the wiki article information.
  13. I'll start out with several free online education sites. MIT open courseware the first to open source all their education materials, thanks for starting the online education revolution guys Khan Academy I learned economics and financial analyses here, there's 3100 classes from basic arithmetic to art history Udacity Google university, just programming at the moment but you simply can't find better programming classes anywhere for any price How about some awe inspiring art and science that may change the world (and definitely brighten your day) TED Talks - Ideas worth spreading, this will blow your mind and open your heart Gapminder - How to use data to get real answers Metaefficient - Info on the smartest uses of technology z929669--> adding to Fri's great resources: CS50 OpenCourseWare (Harvard class - into to computer science. 14. The current state of Wrye Bash first 3 posts give a snapshot.
  15. The great thing about this mod is that it just plain works, has few conflicts, and is supremely customizable. Hallmarks of the STEP mod, highly recommended.
  16. Yep got it downloaded and ready to install for my next playthrough.
  17. I love Dwemer stuff and I love mass transit. Woooo Wooooo. I don't have a blackreach save to check this out so I leave it here for further testing. Blackreach Railroad
  18. Yeah this was mentioned in another thread a while back, it definitely deserves its own thread though and a bump.
  19. thanks blacksol thats going right into my spreadsheet
  20. I agree well done and pretty but the palette is just too far from vanilla.
  21. You didn't really follow either guide (there are many ways to skin a cat) but it sounds like you did everything correctly to come out with an optimized mega texture pack. Have fun!
  22. This is strictly a replacer for vanilla textures and is being worked on veeerrry slowly, he still hasn't finished iron weapons yet (after 4 months) so it doesn't change much, but the quality is high. It was removed from STEP after the Hires texpak came out because it only had 1024k res and texpak was 2048. Also this thread is redundant.
  23. Indeed, I have bigger fish to fry at the moment though.
  24. The esp's are what load the original bsa's, you don't need them if you are using your newly created custom texture mod instead. It will still work fine if you keep them active but it might become confusing as to which textures are actually getting loaded.
  25. It shouldn't be much longer than an hour per GB processed. I assume that you mean you are processing the entire textures directory, right click on your textures directory, select properties and check the size.
