99% sure you'll need to run as admin to change file permissions under any UAC controlled directory like program files. List of files looks good though.

the readme is incorrectly titled if you rename it modname.txt it will install correctly to the docs directory. As for the rest your directory structure looks fine, except the base level 2-glass_armor_weapons_pack etc.. is not gonna fly in a bain package, the base should be 00 blue armor, 01 green armor, 02 violet armor, etc...

I think what you are referring to is a complex BAIN package and you are right they are not for everyone, but a simple BAIN package is just an easy commonsense step. Both are covered fully in the tutorial, it might be helpful if you could point out where we went wrong with the differentiation so we could clarify it.

Download the new version of BOSS it works now, it will fix that loadorder right up, its pretty wacky right now. It could also be your running out of vram, when you run out anything not already loaded is just black/purple mess. It could also be a mod conflict with 1.5 changes. Most likely a busted mod though, that is pretty unusual behavior.

From a noobs perspective I don't think its very obvious that I need to click the spoiler to make it do something, maybe a good spot for that arrow, or change the text to show spoiler and then hide spoiler when open.

Unfortunately Raistlin even with your specs, we would be hard pressed to do a much better job than step has already done. The problem is that everyone notices different things, and is either impressed or annoyed by them, its like if you asked us to pick out a nice pair of clothes for you, it just wouldn't be you. What we are apparently very good at, is creating "do it yourself" guides. Over the next few months you can expect our wiki to address these kinds of issues and to explain your options in plain english.

You have many good posts, we are just trying to keep standards high and prevent too many redundancies. Frankly I could have been a bit more polite and the site could have been a little more informative on posting criteria. I actually really like the format that you came up with, it just needs a bit of refinement and more personal experience.

Almost every single fix mod is now redundant since they are all included in the Unofficial Skyrim Patch

This has not been updated since the DLC, this version has already been rejected

It will no doubt be added back to STEP, it was removed due to the HD DLC.

I would get all the big system hits balanced before moving on to the more subtle fine tuning tweaks. The known heavy hitters are Ugrids, AA, SSAO, ENB, Skyrim HD, and HD textures DLC.

this is really the least you should do when uninstalling any mod. I have my eye out for a mod that gives an in game spell/power that does all the tedious stuff for you.
