  1. Woot, you da man! Your contributions have been noted.
  2. The philosophy behind this is right up my alley, personally I think it should go a bit further for the rarer and more powerful recipes requiring a quest to be completed. But its a very good start and that kind of thing can be added later.
  3. If you completely disable shadows and particles what you have left will be your gpu baseline (there's a few dozen ini settings necessary to accomplish this iirc). You can test at several resolutions and check your fps. Then do the same with your standard ini's and you'll have the difference between cpu and gpu relevance to your fps. I would guess its also likely to include a VRAM problem, you can test that by disabling all the graphics mods and the DLC and checking your fps.
  4. Your best bet is on the SKSE thread on Bethesda forums, they are exposing parts of the game engine itself, and they may be able to do this for you but they have a very long backlog of requests so be patient.
  5. Beald posted last page. I think we have a solid consensus on SVN until the nexus gets updated.
  6. did you try skyrimprefscustom.ini?
  7. I knew that one, additionally each mod can have its own ini associated with it, so if the mymod.esp is active than the mymod.ini overrides the skyrim.ini A bit strange that not one mod I have seen uses this. I wonder how the ini conflict resolution process works, knowing bethesda its alphabetical by ini name :P
  8. Wow very ambitious project, the philosophy seems pretty respectable and the modular design is mandatory for our purposes, worth a look.
  9. The standalone version is not compatible with the SVN (or even the game definition update on the nexus), put another way only the python version can be updated. The python version is only more complex in the sense that it requires 3 supplemental installations, but that is handled by the meta installer so its not really an issue imo.
  10. Nice, I haven't gotten to that yet in my read through of the CK wiki. This will be really helpful.
  11. Thanks Elven, love the third one. I like the engraving look, how about an ivory background with beige engraved text? Actually whatever you think would look like a real ivory engraving. Going out, I'll check back tomorrow thanks :D
  12. The psd for the logo in your post 64 if you would :D Also if your up for it check out the logo in top corner of the wiki, I'd like you to make a 150x150 version with vidir font Skyrim Total Enhancement Project Community All centered maybe with a thin border, whatever you like. I meant the 20 layer comment to be a compliment, very professional, gives many options.
  13. So use the green version, thats what I do :D
  14. Yeah I rather suspected those answers its a tough call, I suppose we can support both options and fully explain the caveats of each. As it stands I require the use of BUM/BOSS over using bash for any plugin management regardless of bash version.
  15. Probably best to avoid optimizing meshes done by Brumbeck, Opticshooter, and Kivan. They really know what they are doing, other authors not so much.
  16. On the topic of shadows Boris has implemented a new shadow drawing mechanism in ENB to replace the current crappy system in the base engine. There are problems of course but it looks insanely better, and its just a first try :D
  17. If Z aggrees than I will, I had it that way initially and changed it to be more compatible with his guide. 295.5 is a lot more stable but you lose out on a lot of compatibility, some users may prefer the stability.
  18. I rewrote the Wrye Bash section. @Z let me know if you have any disagreements or additions, I'd like the guides to not conflict especially on basic dogma like this.
  19. Have a quick readthrough of Skyrim Installation Guide theres many possible causes of your problems, make sure your setup conforms to the ideals before trying to troubleshoot bash itself. Pay particular attention to the Steam and Wrye Bash sections.
  20. hmm a normal map, your have to renormalize them to have any hope of a visual inspection. Tutorial .
  21. umm yeah my bad, poor use of pronouns on my part >.
  22. Different Mipmaps?, open them up in compresonator and have a gander. That will tell you if the res or formats have changed as well.
  23. Only if you change the file resolution or format, the other parameters just make a more game optimized texture. Most files are already in those formats so no useful data is lost on those at all. But in many cases where the resolution or format changes there is a noticeable degradation. At that point you'll need to decide if the performance increase outweighs the detail loss.
  24. Yeah but he had all the layers set up way pro, 20 layers for a logo, nice.
  25. I'd make the background transparent like the current logo with a textured light gray text. Not sure if we have the psd for that one.
