  1. You understand right, but a few post processors support proxy's as well so you could daisy chain them and have more (Just to add to the confusion and fun :D). Note that this has not been tested, just going on documentation.
  2. HiAlgoBoost I am wondering what algorithm you are using to decide when to change game settings? I'm guessing something like: If FPS < 30 then set resolution lower, set game settings lowerPerhaps your using multiple data points like VRAM use and CPU and GPU percent utilized Anyway an explanation of what is going on could help us understand if this is something we could adapt to be useful for us. P.S. don't be afraid to get to geeky here, if you copy and paste some code here just make sure to select all the code and click the code brackets in the editor. You could also manually add the spoiler bracket in same format if its very long.
  3. A nice list of console commands useful for testing. Skyrim Commands / Functions
  4. Discussion thread: Shadow Striping Fix by forum42087 Wiki Link Back online on the Nexus and currently recommended instead of More Dynamic Shadows and Striping Fixed until it is cleaned or remade.
  5. sleep for 31 days and he will be fixed, alternately since your familiar with console despawn him and then respawn him and then save.
  6. Still using inline? I found moderation options to be much more powerful and reliable.
  7. We will eventually have a page for every mod and a few dozen guides. Its up to you to help out with an existing guide or choose a new topic and start a new page (which will not be listed on the front page until it is vetted by the STEP team for readability and usefulness and accuracy).
  8. better beast races was in STEP a few releases back, it got cut in the move to 2.0 and I'm not sure why. You link goes to more snow btw, here is the actual link Better Beast Races v2, coverkhajiits is a stretch for vanilla.
  9. That is basically bypassing every useful feature of the program...
  10. There is no performance version but there did use to be an uber version thats probably where the tag came from, and again this is a VRAM issue nothing to do with performance.
  11. What is SMM? edit: fixed title
  12. Yes there is a mod that does this, its designed for very low power computers and dynamically alters the ini settings in order to keep your fps 32+ it has a huge quality cost though, your better off tuning your system manually and removing mods that slow your fps.
  13. your lucky to be getting 5% time in, I haven't actually played the game for a month or more, just launch now and again to test settings or mods :P
  14. follow the direction's in STEP Chapter 5 Section B Hint 1 (page 20)
  15. DDSopt is by far the most customizeable and you can edit your own exclusion list to avoid creating bad textures (DDSopt is a subset of NIFopt and BSAopt is a subset of DDSopt, the full NIFopt has not been ported to skyrim yet). SMCO is quite new still but looks promising, be aware that it is known to create bad meshes on occasion and a bad mesh will cause a ctd, where a bad texture just turns purple.
  16. I'll just leave this here for nvidia users
  17. so disable vsync and set driver to 30 fps and live with the tearing, pretty easy with nvidia inspector I don't know how easy with ati.
  18. You should be using your nvidia or ati driver software for best results.
  19. the 101bugs dont include the full mipmapping, thats why the size is changed.
  20. Well almost, IPS at that res goes for $900+ but then you have to buy a new graphics card or probably 2. This model would do.
  21. I was considering this one for 3D it looks pretty slick Samsung 27'
  22. I already have all that info except the bain version of the ini tweaks included in the SIG. It could probably use a little more detail and clarity though ( as usual :P).
  23. Lots of nice monitors available for rather cheap these days, check this .
  24. Oh thats nice and mathy , he doesn't have a formula to compute VRAM use at different resolutions does he?
  25. ivacttheseeker you can't really see the difference in static photos, try walking around and watching the shadows move (particularly on characters), if your not gonna notice that kind of thing while playing just don't worry about it, some of us are just crazy that way.
