  1. Thats openoffice native format, I'lll repost with comments shortly.
  2. Good call, I had intended to include that somewhere but I had similar issues with where to put it and then it went out of mind... I suppose I'll just break down and make a whole backup and restore section, I'm also not happy with the Mods section at all and will include a much more robust manual installation advice, and probably the clean save procedure as well. I tried to open the step pdf from dropbox and openoffice just mutilated it so I can't really help with the editing, I don't suppose theres a save or export to opendoc format?
  3. That's caused by a known memory leak in the engine of unknown cause, tabbing out or minimizing refreshes the memory and fixes it (temporarily).
  4. You will have to turn it on in the bios though, it is always off by default.
  5. you should be able to find an old 20GB ssd for around $30 online, same caveat with AHCI though. Otherwise use the slower drive for your pagefile and temp files.
  6. 3GB or 6GB is not that big a deal, what you want to check you motherboard for is Native AHCI, if your motherboard doesn't have it your ssd's will be running in simulated IDE mode.
  7. I see, for your particular situation I would keep windows system and game files on the fast drive and offload everything else to the slower drive.
  8. I wrote about this a while back in these forums I believe, best harddrive setup is 3 ssd's, 1: windows system, 2: boot files, temp files, and pagefiles, 3:games and intensive applications Then have a couple 2TB hds for all the rest. Totally eliminates the fragmentation issues (and thus maintenance), and isolates the 3 systems that use hd the most so you don't have performance drops from competing demands. The same idea would apply to any 3 hd's, if you only have 2 you'll have to make some hard choices.
  9. I played diablo once for 15 min at a friends, no interst in 2 or 3. Starcraft and warcraft for me. ( I actually rather like shogun 2 as well).
  10. should be no problems then just drop the dll and the ini in your skyrim directory and start it up, does skyrim start up fine if you delete the d3dxx.dll?
  11. I've seen autoupdate capability in the latter 200 series drivers, but I don't know if it works. I never install that feature. This is new software that is gonna use a new nvidia cloud database to store all game info and all hardware info and autoconfigure your game profiles and drivers to get max quality from each game you have installed on your specific system according to your full hardware specs. Still pie in the sky, but at least they are trying something new.
  12. Do you have an ATI card? You need to set up dummy card to make it work if you do. Check the documentation.
  13. What do you think of that?I MOVED Skyrim on to my SSD (SteamMover) which has windows on it, but my steam client is still on my HDD. So if I install Steam onto my SSD and move all the other games onto my HDD, this would probably have the same effect as the guy described in his post, wouldn't it? This advice has been in the Skyrim Installation Guide since day one and the intent to do videos and graphics was written into the description.
  14. Yeah the new autoconfigure game profiles and autoupdate drivers features could be really nice if they do it right.
  15. yeah but that gonna be $1k, I think thats just silly. Well the 670 4GB won't be available for a few months anyway so we'll see what else is available.
  16. With that kind of definition yes, but I'm not on that constant upgrade treadmill, I build a computer and keep it for 6-8 years putting in about $200 a year to keep it current. I've just hit the 8 year mark and am looking to build a new comp, what would you recommend that will last longer than the 670 4GB? I won't upgrade again until 4k monitors and Cards are available.
  17. Hm, where else was that reported? o_O Been searching pretty much everywhere on the net all day and tried every single seting that I possibly could before changing it randomly because I was gonna play Morrowind for a few minutes (and that requires it off with the mods I use). Anyway updated the discussion page under Troubleshooting, simply added to the text about disabling Steam Overlay that this can also fix these issues. :) found one reference in these forums I'm pretty sure there was another more specific reference elsewhere though.
  18. Someone else reported that earlier, it seems like a good topic for the troubleshooting section. Feel free to add it.
  19. It is completely compatible as it is using just the new shadows to create the parallax effect.
  20. Discussion thread: Project Parallax-Whiterun by Osmodius Wiki Link Absolutely gorgeous implementation of parallax using ENB and meshes/textures, current version is not compatible with SMIM but the next version will be. It is already compatible with SkyHD2k and SRO.
  21. I plan to do something similar in a couple months after the guide has been revised and refined to a work of art. First though graphics will start appearing here and there.
  22. unless directx12 comes out early next year I am quite confident in my prediction, even then it takes 2-3 years for the industry to adapt so meh , in any case paying $450 for a 4GB 670 is an insanely better value than $600 for a 4GB 680
  23. Basically the injector is for if your using to more than 2 files so say ENB and SMAA and RCRN at once, otherwise if just one or 2 use the wrapper.
  24. Yep the 670 series is always the best value, if you can find one with 4gb VRAM you'll have a card that keeps your games running maxed out for as long as 4 years.
  25. Sounds like you have 1GB or less VRAM and installed all the high res graphics.
