  1. I personally like the system as it stands. As Z points out, from your profile you can easily see which recent posts have added/subtracted your rep, but you can also see a users rep by hovering your mouse over their name right here in the thread. I think it encourages people to behave in a certain way, without requiring mod intervention. There was a case in the last few weeks of a new member making some suggestions, then receiving constructive feedback, who then started calling those that gave feedback idiots etc. A mod warned him, to which he started arguing, and I believe it was the mass of negative rep on his flame posts that made him decide to leave. If he had wanted to become a trusted member of the community, he would fairly easily have been able to overcome the negative feedback, as others have done, and can come back and do so at any time, unless he has been banned with no public mention of this happening. I feel that this is better than being warned or banned by mods only, as the warning didn't seem to work, and a ban is very final. Just my 2 cents, and as Z mentioned already, I'm biased as I do have a positive rep, which encourages me to be helpful, while trying not to be sarcastic or rude to the many new users who don't bother to read. tl;dr I like the system as it is. Maybe make things a little clearer ie bigger or more prominent buttons to encourage more users to participate.
  2. My bad. I posted that after reading the front page, THEN went to the comments, and saw you helping lol.
  3. Not sure if anybody noticed the following message on the mod page:
  4. Have you restarted your pc and tried again? My wife had several similar issues, using Windows 8, and a reboot seemed to do the trick in most cases.
  5. Butcher is correct. Make sure you read the entire guide, and you should have minimal issues.
  6. Haha, that's what I figured, and is why I was hoping to get a response from Scarla. Adding a new mesh or 2 to her mod would be far easier, since the hardest part is already done. I may try my hand at making a mesh, then approach her with it and see if I get a better response. Thanks very much for the advice though, all very useful points!
  7. I figured it would be a good project to start my modding career, and tried asking Scarla for permission to either work together, or use part of her mod, but haven't received a response. One day I'll settle down with a big pot of coffee, and a few spare days, and learn how to mesh.
  8. The instructions given by EssArrBee ARE on the guide page you linked:
  9. You are correct. Obviously you can't install options that require DLCs you don't have. STEP now only fully supports Skyrim Legendary, ie all DLCs. You can still use the guide, but you'll obviously need to be careful when installing some mods. If you notice any that mention downloading a certain version of a mod if you have all DLC, or a different version if you don't, please feel free to post links etc here, as it will help clean up and remove those type of instructions to make things more consistent. Thanks.
  10. First troubleshooting step should almost always be turn it off and back on. Also Thane is a forum title. Incidentally, exactly the same as your title.
  11. It only seems to do that to me occasionally, especially after activating a new mod through the MCM. I wasn't able to pin down the problem, and it's incredibly easy to work around so I didn't bother looking too much. IMHO it's most likely an issue with skse or skyui.
  12. It's great to hear about someone getting through the guide with minimal problems, congratulations!
  13. LOOT version? Any chance of a screenshot of what you see while you're trying to drag n drop?
  14. Have you tried restarting your PC then changing the path etc? My wife was having issues with being unable to delete and change things while modding, and a restart fixed most of THOSE issues.
  15. Yes, but it may not have been there the first time. It was only added a week ago, due to this question continually coming up. From https://wiki.step-project.com/Mod_Organizer#Recommendations In the settings menu of MO:
  16. If you're following the STEP install order, you can ignore that warning. The MO installation recommendations has been updated to show you how to do that.
  17. MO might be getting confused and automatically placing the files in an existing mod, as it does when creating a bashed patch after the first time. Maybe try checking the Information tab of your bashed batch etc?
  18. Thanks. It was more of a suggestion to dreadflopp to include links in the forum topics of his packs. I also have no idea how I managed to double post. Normally the forum doesn't allow that. I even got the standard error message about posting too fast. Sorry.
  19. Nope. Replacing that file with the non performance version, or just using the entire non performance version does not have that rancid look.
  20. Gildergreen Regrown is currently in STEP, so you should already have it, and Enchantment Reload Fix will be in the next version.
  21. That would be annoying, to say the least, if downloading the SRO torrent which is over a gig. Also it seems to be limited to normal browsing, at least here, so you may not even be able to do it.
  22. I need to go through and redo my STEP Profiles so I can test properly, and I'll have it done within the next day or 2. I'd be happy to help out however I can.
  23. They do, but I think we are limited here in Australia. I can't recall if it's 20 MB or 20 minutes, but I'm fairly sure there is some kind of limit. EDIT: Seems to be 50 MB, but then you just need to disconnect and reconnect.
  24. If you read some of the threads on SRO, it's strictly forbidden to share outside the torrent links provided. Sadly, you'll need to find some way to use torrents. Maybe try a proxy, or ask your landlord?
