SKYRIMLE Realistic Lighting Overhaul (by The Realistic Lighting Team)

That sounds a bit odd, with UseOriginalPostProcessing and UseOriginalObjectsProcessing both set to true I hardly lose any fps whatsoever, but it obviously differs from system to system -

The biggest issue (for me) with skipping ENB is that you miss out on the improved shadows that are miles ahead of what you can get without ENB. I like SSAO etc as well obviously, but that's the #1 thing for me. Then again it's easy to just turn everything off in ENB except for that if you don't want it to mess with colors and such. -

I'm a little confused because here you say to load before the main files, but on nexus it says to load after any main files but before any modules you want to keep the settings from. Figured I'd try out the dark dungeons module too, and loaded it before all other RLO modules. Had a look in TES5Edit and this means that 99% of its changes are overwritten by the Dungeons file, which often just resets stuff back to vanilla values. Having a look at their forums on Nexus it seems you should indeed load it after Dungeons module if you decide to keep it, but before everything else even if BOSS doesn't sort it that way You've misread the conversation. Ath3nos was asking where to load the Darker Dungeons module not the main RLO files. Thus my response to the question was correct. You load the Darker Dungeons module (it) before the main files. This allows the edits (from the main files) to remain in place and not be overwritten (the main files overwrite the optional module).Nope, I think maybe just wasn't clear enough when I said "overwritten by the Dungeons file". If the Darker Dungeons module is loaded first of all the RLO files as suggested, then Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Dungeons.esp will overwrite nearly all changes from Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Dungeon Lighting.esp (the new file), making it pointless. -

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if this fix does work then the revised BUM load order would be... Select qotsafan's IA6 invisible helmets patch.esp In the text box adjacent to "AFTER" type " ReProccer.esp " and click [save Rule]. Select qotsafan's Ars Metallica Patch.esp In the text box adjacent to "AFTER" type " qotsafan's IA6 invisible helmets patch " and click [save Rule]. Select qotsafan's WIC-CraftOnly ReProccer Patch.esp In the text box adjacent to "AFTER" type " qotsafan's Ars Metallica Patch.esp " and click [save Rule]. etc... I don't know why this would work but I'm going to try it out now. EDIT: Rearranging didn't work for me, still have invisible helmets The IA6 invisible helmets patch is a patch to make the helms invisible for people that just want the stats from them, think you might be using it for the wrong reason? Unless you just forgot a "don't" in there obviously :) -
You can just go for 1k versions of the big texture packs rather than 2k and it works more than fine on that system (mine is quite similar)

The 3.5.1 patches have some issues and causes CTDs atm, author is aware and is working on a fix. Also apparently JaySus swords will be a requirement for some of these files, as he said that JSwords.esm as a master for those files was intended. -

Does that mean notes will also be added to mods like Minty Lightning Mod and Immersive Thunder which are both incompatible with CoT? Or to Skyrim Sunglare saying CoT needs to be installed before sunglare to not overwrite the sunglare.dds? And what are 'popular' mods? Is Immersive Armors popular? I believe it is more popular then CoT so maybe a note needs to be added to Book of Silence that there is a patch for IA. Like I said I believe this to be a slippery slope. Once you start adding these sort of notes you have to be thorough, if people see a note mentioning CoT compatibility on one mod they'll likely assume other mods with CoT compatibility problems will also have a note. If you really want to have notes on STEP with popular mods think it would be much wiser to have seperate threads in the Troubleshooting section named something like STEP and CoT, STEP and Mod-X, etc. where these incompatibilities are listed and solutions can be discussed. Don't muddle the STEP guide with notes on non-STEP mods. While I agree with what you said, just figured I'd point out that Mintyäs Lightning Mod isn't incompatible with CoT as it has an official compatibility patch made by Minty at https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25675

Yep, with Dual Wield Parrying accepted this is a must have as well.

The "threaded" options have been known to cause instability

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Vond replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Ah thanks for that. Luckily I had already grabbed the files I wanted (which was especially ethereal elven overhaul, that is quite amazing) -
Those are compatibility patches for reproccer, as some mods won't be sorted out properly unless you modify some things (it's all described on the reproccer page if you wish to do it yourself instead, quite timeconsuming however)

SkyLighting is the biggest fps-killer next to SSAO, both cost about 15% extra FPS. Also SkyLighting to me personally does the least difference but might be that I just haven't played with it on enough, due to the performance cost, to tell the difference

SKYRIMLE Belt-Fastened Quivers - Skeleton Replacer
Vond replied to darthbdaman's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Just tried it out some. With closer quivers & longers there is some clipping that is removed without said mod. But when using this that feels pretty redundant anyway as mentioned before. -

Speaking of hidden mods, the dagi raht (spelling?) khajit race suggested in SR has been hidden for some time as well -
To answer the mod testing questions: 1) It does use a plugin. Zero conflicts, the esp only contains one entry for a new idle animation and one for a new "quest" (ie the menu etc) 2) The only options in MCM is to change the hotkey for it (defaults to V). Might've been one more but if so I forgot

Hm, so there are some issues with Immersive Weapons and aMidianborn's Skyforge Weapons even if you use the special reproccer patches? Might need to look into it if so Edit: Noticed that Book of Silence actually wasn't in any of the patches, and that Reproccer fails to properly load the Skyforge weapons for example @Iroha: That would be great if you could upload it somewhere. :) -

Found a (minor) issue when looking thru everything in TES5Edit: If you install after following Neovalen's SR notes to the letter, you should have a General Patch.esp that sorts into the "Extra Late" section when running BOSS. This is perfectly fine when running SR without following the guide in this thread as well, but when running SkyRe + ASIS, Skyre_EnemyAI.esp is moved to sort after ASIS.esp. This ofc also means it loads after the General Patch.esp as that will still load before the Bashed Patch. The problem with this is that it renders the file useless, as SkyRe_EnemyAI.esp includes changes that are supposed to be overwritten to the top worldspace (the entire reason the file exists at all). So maybe suggest people change the "Extra Late" section to "Non Dynamic Patches"? This will make it load dead last no matter what. @Smile44: Looking through your modlist it seems to me you might simply have too many esm/esp files in your loadorder? Pasting it into notepad++ lists 287 lines. Now I assume a bunch of those are merged into the bashed patch. Can you check in Wrye Bash how many are listed active? Edit: I realize this might've just been for your first issue and not be whats causing issues now if you removed mods -
https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited#aMidianBorn_Book_of_Silence guides you on how to make a patch (not a merged patch ala FO3 etc though) for this specific issue (and other issues for the specific set of mods included in Skyrim Revisited) Ok, I made the patch and activated it, do I deactivate the aMidianborn and GDO esp?aMidianborn still shows conflict with Dual Sheath Redux. Nevermind - I looked in the patch and it only contains the fixes so I assume I leave all 3 activated and let BOSS sort order. Yeah just let BOSS sort it, and follow the guidelines for BUM there as well so BOSS can sort the patch you made properly

Just did a search for this mod as I was gonna post about it if it wasn't mentioned already. High quality stuff, and as you mentioned he already has stuff in STEP.

Indeed, that is why I was hesitant to do it and just made new folders in MO for DDSOPTed versions to try it out. I did try to see as many different lighting combos as possible to look for artifacts etc but could not find any. I have had issues with it in the past as well (LONG ago) when I tried this, but it seems fine now. So far atleast

Any idea if the Fantasy Music Overhaul will be available once more? It has been hidden since I first went thru this guide (same for the special khajit-race Neovalen suggests in SR) -
Figured I'd post it in this thread, as I couldn't see it mentioned anywhere else. In a desperate attempt to reduce VRAM/RAM load (I'd freeze/crash instantly upon hitting Riverwood where I'd get to 3k RAM load and my poor 2gb GPU would be maxed out as well) I looked over all the folders in MO/mods.. Noticed the files for Better Makeup SKSE (including all the optionals Neovalen suggested in SR) are uncompressed files that are simply huge. I went ahead and used DDSOPT on them, sticking to 2048x2048 and loaded up the game after doing the same for Better males and the Mature Skin textures. Loaded up the game and went to the same area I had just had the same result at 4-5 times in a row, and everything worked flawlessly. RAM load kept itself around 2gb rather than 3, VRAM wasn't maxing even on my 2gb card etc. I honestly can't tell any difference on the quality ingame as they're still the same resolution, just compressed, and I didn't notice anything weird going on. This for me atleast made a MUCH bigger difference than optimizing any other mod(s).
