  1. Well I'll be damned! Although I didn't have the same issue as the OP I decided to examine my XML files and I made the suggested changes and finally my 'grenade icon' disappears along with the rest of my UI. clearly we need to have a close look at what is in each of these files and ensure they are in fact being added into the UIO config. Nice catch @Kelmych.
  2. The FalloutMO.exe shouldn't be there, if FNV4Gb is installed correctly, running it from MO should patch the exe and it will be found in the 'exes' folder. Can you post your ModOrganizer.ini, as that shows the settings to all your executables?
  3. So it would appear the problem was due to a change from adding/removing/moving a mod around in an established game and those weapon edits were 'baked into' the save. A good reminder to try and avoid making mod changes to a working playthrough. Very glad you were able to get your game back and running.
  4. If you make changes via the Skyrim Launcher those will be saved in the default INI files in your 'My Games' folder. The active profile in MO will have used the default INI files as its base from BEFORE those changes. Any changes to your INIs will need to done to the set of files used in the current profile, either by MO's INI editor, Configurator or by hand with a text editor.
  5. Thank you for your observations, they are always welcome as a 'new set of eyes' can often reveal things not immediately evident. However in these instances I feel the wiki reflects the correct import of the matter for these reasons: The sentence about launching the game at least once is correct in that location as it is regarding the 'Initial Setup'. The warning to 'neophytes' is likewise the fifth listed method of upgrading and should be taken by users that didn't get a working install/upgrade by any of the previous methods. We are though open to all input into modifying the wiki and perhaps others concur with you on those matters, and a change may take place. Whatever the situation, the wiki is there for all to use and modify where needed.
  6. I would check your keyboard assignments in the MCM. You may possibly have inadvertently assigned the ESC key to another function, such as 'Bullet Time' and that may be what you are seeing.
  7. Sounds like issues with your Windows login account then.
  8. Yes. Anywhere away from anything likely to have control issues. Even creating a new folder called C:\Games\FNV\ModOrganizer\ is fine. MO does not need to be in any folder close to either the game or Steam to work, for that matter it can be on a completely different drive.
  9. Just watched a Gopher video about a fix for stutters that he was having and the fix for it. Amazingly Gopher was having stutters and the cause was the... New Vegas Stutter Remover. More precisely the specific setting called: bHookLightCriticalSections = 1Changing that to 0, or off, fixed his stutters. Now on my lower end system, and with my rather non-critical eye for detail, I can't say whether I've noticed any issues with this setting being on, but I have just now changed it to off and am about to play a session to see if even I can see any change.
  10. You state you fixed the problem but when asked to provide details on what you did, you don't offer them and then say you give up! Surely you must see the difficulty involved in trying to provide support to users that don't provide very much feedback? This guide has been followed by hundreds, if not thousands, of users that have no issues like those you describe. The guide it self is just that, a guide. You say you didn't follow it to the letter but don't give much back in a way to diagnose what might be wrong. I'm very sorry for your frustration but the guide, when followed, does work and is far from a waste of time. I was going to ask you to post your mod and plugin lists but since you have said you've deleted everything!
  11. Which MO version and which OS are you running? Additionally I would suggest moving your MO install out of the Steam sub-folder structure, place it in a folder of it's own away from anything related to Steam, Program Files or any other Windows controlled folder. You can just move the whole folder, there are no registry or hidden settings anywhere that will be broken by moving it.
  12. Where was MO installed and where did you move it too? Was the first folder under Windows UAC, with restrictions set on it that you forgot about?
  13. You haven't stated which version of MO you are using or whether you have just updated it. To head off any issues immediately, may I suggest you look at this thread first and see if the issues here apply to you.
  14. The instructions in the MO wiki seem to be very clear, what exactly are you finding too difficult? The text from the linked page says this: The workflow is as follows: Delete the following in your current ModOrganizer directory: All files EXCEPT ModOrganizer.ini, nxmhandlers.ini, and categories.dat All directories EXCEPT downloads, mods, overwrite, and profiles Now download the latest archive(s) (There may be important optionals you need to install, so read the instructions.) Copy the contents of the latest archive(s) into your ModOrganizer folder, overwriting all. MO is a portable executable, ie. it makes no changes to the registry or stores any settings outside of its own directory. All settings used by it are simple text files and folders, that are listed above, and already backed up by you, according to your post. All the settings to your various tools are in the MO ini and if they are located outside of the MO directory structure there will be no issue with your updating the MO folder structure. Changing MO does not need any special resetting of the Skyrim launcher, as Skyrim has no knowledge of MO and makes no explicit calls to it.
  15. Check the 'Archives' tab in the right-hand pane and ensure ALL the BSAs are ticked IF you have MO managing your archives. This is also set on the 'Archives' tab. I have noted a couple of examples in my different profiles where, for whatever reason during testing, one or more BSAs were unticked and this will cause a CTD.
  16. @Tannin has it on the Sourceforge network here.
  17. The list of servers is stored in your INI as a string so copying across an old one should have provided that new install with the old list. At any rate, I too have seen oddities with the server list for over a year, but the actual downloads work just fine. My initial MO install had a list of about a dozen servers whereas all my other installs only showed one. No matter what I did I could never get that list to update and was confused by it. Now I'm slightly less confused but not concerned.
  18. Mods are comprised of two distinct parts: plugins which are sorted by tools such as LOOT, and assets (meshes, textures, sounds, scripts, etc.) which are not touched by those tools and need to placed in an order that provides the correct 'conflict resolution'. ie. When you install Mod A with textures first then install Mod B that also has textures, those from Mod B will be used in game, they win the conflict resolution. You can of course change the order of these installed mods in the left-hand pane of MO but the order of installation in the guide is there to avoid this step. This is why MO's left-hand pane has that column with the flags that show conflict and also why the 'Conflicts' tab in the 'Information' window exists. Because MO is vastly different to ALL other mod managers, in that nothing is overwritten upon installation, the order of these mods is only provided to assist with this 'conflict resolution'. To test it try moving some mods around and then look at the 'Data' tab in the right-hand pane and see which mods are providing their assets.
  19. Welcome to STEP. Your question isn't really a MO related one, although you state you want to use xEdit with MO. This thread is for issues or questions directly related to MO's use, and in particular, how to use it with the Fallout series of games. I've moved it to a more fitting location.
  20. This message is shown in the forum side of Nexus as of 5.00pm Australian Eastern Standard time. Nexus Mods is down for scheduled maintenanceThe main Nexus Mods site has been taken down for scheduled maintenance to our Cloud software while we install security and performance updates. The forums will remain up during this time (as they are not on the Cloud). The expected downtime is 1 - 2 hours. Perhaps due to the issues noted here in this thread?
  21. From what I can see everything is working fine. They show you ran the 'Sort' function, and when you called the SKSE run command from MO it correctly loaded and then called TESV.exe, (Skyrim) and everything was provided for your game. They do also show you have RaceMenu files in your 'Overwrite' folder. You should decide whether you need to make a mod from them or delete them entirely. Keeping files in the 'Overwrite' folder isn't the best practice as they will always win in a conflict and that may not be what is wanted.
  22. Now I've got you. Yes, the installer names the folder differently to what is used in the archive. Simply open the folder in the archive and extract the contents into the Mod Organizer folder so that each folder and file is overwriting the previous version. Actually a safer way to do this is to delete everything except your, 'profiles', 'downloads' & 'mods' folders and the ModOrganizer.ini, and possibly categories.dat if you have one, and extract the archive into the now cleaned out folder. This ensures no previous version file exists and you are guaranteed an updated install.
  23. All the files in the 'Profiles' folders are just text files that are read by MO to generate the correct mods and plugins to use for each profile. There isn't anything special about them that needs MO to 'claim' them as its own. I just meant that if another program 'at the moment' had them open that might cause issues with MO reading/writing to them. Try creating a new profile and call it something basic like: Test, and enable only a few mods in this profile and see what happens. We really need to see your logs thought to check what is actually happening. If you are having issues posting them here try using a hosting service like PasteBin and post the links instead. The logs folder is directly under the main MO install. Clear it out first and then enable this basic profile, run it and then provide the logs.
  24. Have you checked the other threads here in STEP, especially this one on ILS, CTDs & other freezes?
