  1. I've generated some before and after logs and will re-open the issue in the tracker and paste them there.
  2. @ThreeTen If you message z929669, TechAngel85, EssArrBee, or Vuud on the Nexus, we can give you a fancy Mod Author badge.
  3. Well we are making progress, of a sorts. I can now reliably replicate this error and I have no idea why it happens. I created a completely fresh profile with only the vanilla game files loaded and no matter which method I choose: launcher, game or FOSE it crashes just as "please stand by..." screen shows. As soon as I choose my 'Clear and Present Danger' profile the game starts and runs perfectly.
  4. @NomenNescio has posted an update to his situation in another thread. @KeithinHanoi, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this in the light of a new version of Audio Overhaul.
  5. Thank you. So much work going on over there it is always good to be reminded of new action.
  6. That's going to take a bit of time. I've been starting and stopping on that project for months now and never really got passed the information gathering phase. xEdit is one of those beasts that needs taming by a stout heart and a steady head. It might be easy to take either of the PDF documents for older versions and add in updated info but even that will need a lot of work. Maybe we can divide the work between a few of us so it doesn't seem too daunting.
  7. So why do you have the DLC plugins active, yet you haven't activated their BSAs in the 'Archive' tab? If you don't want MO to handle the BSAs then uncheck that and allow the game engine to load them based on the plugins. If you do want MO to handle BSAs, then you need to check each one so it loads. Going back through this thread it seems that this is what you were trying to say, but failing, when you said you could start Fallout but it fails to allow 'Play' in the menu.
  8. Wow, long-time between drinks! Can you recap for us, are you running MO with the same privileges as the Fallout executable? To put it another way, is Fallout being run with 'Admin' privileges and MO is just with your user account?
  9. Ok, with you now. This is an easy one. For whatever reason, an examination is underway into it, this style of FOMod installer isn't working properly with the code in MO at the moment. In your 'Settings -- Plugins' find "Fomod Installer" in the left-hand side and double click the text "Enabled -- true" in the right-hand side and change it to "false" with the drop-down menu. This will change MO to use a different installer than the default and this will allow you to install this mod. Keep in mind the alternate installer isn't as 'pretty' and the options are slightly messed up, but since you have already seen the original installer you should be able to determine which options to pick. As mentioned, this is currently under active examination and will hopefully be rectified shortly.
  10. Ok we have a number of things going on in this thread. Can we establish that with your full modlist and active plugins MO will at least start and run the game? Secondly we need to track down this TES5Edit error. Can it be attributed to anything unrelated to MO, such as the number of plugins and/or their dependencies? Lastly you mentioned a proccer throwing a 'missing master' message. Can this be down to an incorrect load order rather than a MO specific issue? If we can at least isolate and remove one of these, preferably the first, then we can make some progress.
  11. Welcome to STEP @dustin1 What exactly were you trying to do? The error message you provide is pointing to a *.png (a graphic file) but you mention it when you "attempted to install" that mod. Is this some sort of error in the installation screens or did you try to view that file after installation?
  12. hmm... so we're getting back to @GSDFan's question of the number of active plugins. I just now realised you've already answered that with 254. That's the limit and needs to pared back with some serious merging. Did you notice your log says your STEP Extended patch is not loaded? Also you have the HighResTexturePack plugins active and they don't need to be, just have MO handle the BSAs. More than likely then that fatal error in TES5Edit is due to exceeding the plugin limit. I'd be interested to see verified what mods need to be de-activated only in the left-hand pane that would affect TES5Edit, as that only deals with plugins, and the number of those is independent of the left-hand pane. You could be disabling mods with no plugins in the left-hand pane and that won't make a scrap of difference. Same with the proccers. I can't see why they should fail simply based on mods installed but the number of active plugins (right-hand pane) might have some bearing.
  13. Ok, let's look a little closer at this TES5Edit error. You may need to provide a screenshot of that fatal error and possibly ask in the forum for that tool. Additionally providing details of where it is installed and whether Windows has UAC active and what access rights it is started under will help. If any tool is started with higher access rights than MO, MO won't be able to see it in the process list and therefore won't be able to parse path and file details to it for use. One obvious reason for that tool not finding any INIs is because there aren't any. Have you at least started Skyrim from the desktop before doing so from within MO. The initial set of INIs won't be generated properly until that step is taken. Assuming that has been taken care of, I'd still need to see your logs from MO. The 'logs' folder under the 'ModOrganizer' folder is where they are found. You should find a mo_interface.log and at least one ModOrganizer_<timestamp>.log. The latest of those logs will help isolate what is triggering this error. ps. A minor detail, 'Thane' & 'DragonBorn' are just titles, in the same way your current title is 'Prisoner'. Not an issue, just clarifying it. And pardon my rudeness for not saying so earlier... Welcome to STEP.
  14. Can you provide details of the installation paths, UAC settings and your modorganizer.ini and any logs from these attempts? The fact TES5Edit is saying it can't find your 'documents' folder is a worry to me. It sounds like you have some odd setup with your system. Are all your games legitimate copies installed in the correct fashion? Also I note you have posted this on Reddit and said "Tannin just announced that he'd stop answering questions from the community." While he has said he will not answer questions asked in PMs and email, he most assuredly does answer questions here and on the Nexus, aside from maintaining a bug-tracking forum for MO. Perhaps you could amend that to your comment there?
  15. I agree the new ordering at first did throw me, and I let rip at them at first without examining what had actually changed, but after a close examination, and some helpful correction from the LOOT team, I can safely say there is no issue with the new way the plugins are ordered. Simply put if a plugin isn't explicitly needed to be placed immediately after or before another, it can be alphabetically listed with all the others in the same category. @Wrinklninja has implemented a "human-readable" style of sorting and after the initial shock wears off it works really well. Upshot of this is... if it isn't broken in xEdit, then it isn't broken in LOOT, or to put it another way... before we say the loadorder is wrong check it with xEdit.
  16. Welcome to STEP @Kraggy. I think you deserve some sort of commendation. First time user of both MO and DynDoLOD and after using them... NO ERRORS. Great work. Many users stumble over some of the finer details yet you have sailed through unscathed. I see many years of good modding ahead for you.
  17. There has been a Steam update in the last few weeks, usually when they occur it is best practice to initialise the games afresh by running them from their desktop shortcuts. Could you run them from there and progress at least to the ingame menus appearing and then try again from MO. You state nothing has changed from your end for a few weeks and this just 'randomly' happened. Since software doesn't just develop 'random' crashes with no outside changes perhaps the Steam update is the cause.
  18. The logs say you have moved your Skyrim install. Did you have this in the same location with previous MO installs and is there any reason why you have moved it? Sometimes after Steam updates you need to run the game from the launcher to ensure any changes are correctly addressed. Have you done so? There's also a few entries in the log that state MO is unable to find certain files. More than likely this is related to the registry settings and the actual on disk locations being different.
  19. I've filed this a bug in the Bug Genie here. If you could follow both here and in that location that would be very helpful. Any instructions provided in the Bug Genie will need to be followed through promptly so as to assist @Tannin in finding this bug.
  20. Which INI files did you remove? When you create a profile in MO it makes copies of the INI files it finds in C:\Users\<YOURNAME>\Documents\My Games\skyrim\ and places MO copies in the 'profiles' folder. If your initial set of files were corrupted then the copies MO made, and use, will also be useless. Try removing all your profiles' INI files, remove the ones in your 'My Documents' and rerun the Skyrim Launcher to generate new ones and then proceed from that set.
  21. Please provide details of your install paths for MO, Skyrim, etc., along with a copy of your ModOrganizer.ini. In your MO folder there is a folder called 'logs' with all the generated logs from each MO execution, please provide copies of these also.
  22. Your 'original' INI doesn't look right. It's missing the UI settings for what mods and plugins you have installed. Are you providing the INI from when you can load MO and start a game or just from after installing MO? Have you moved your Skyrim from its initial installation location? Have you also ensured it runs correctly from outside MO? This is very confusing, it looks like a problem with Skyrim not found in the registry but you state each new install of MO finds and runs it. Only when MO is run a subsequent time does the message show. Very weird. OK, let's take a different tack. You have SKSE as the first selected program, so I am assuming you are running the game from MO using SKSE. Try selecting just the vanilla game and run it from MO. Does it still error out with that message? If not then the issue is with your SKSE installation.
  23. Interesting. It's always good to have an insight into the mind of the developer on these matters. So where I see the 'Sort' as an end result, you see it merely as a stepping stone to greater abilities further down the line. Makes perfect sense when you see it that way. Maybe we can have more insights into the MO 'roadmap'?
  24. @Tannin Now that I see a few fomod installer issues are getting attention, can I assume you are taking another look at working on this aspect of MO and not leaving it for outside help?
  25. Wow, there's a site for voice actors?! Another one of those things that continues to amaze me when I find out about it. Thanks @Teabag86. Looks like a couple of candidates in that list for this job already. ps. looking forward to see that mod you alluded to being released shortly when all permissions come through.
