implemented Maintain Your System Specs On the Wiki
Aiyen replied to z929669's question in Wiki Support
Because there is a major difference between having only 4Gb and 12+ ? For STEP core is is not as vital, but it should be put down that 8Gb min is recommended. (ofc. for a 64bit system) -
As long as you do not make repeated cases of suggesting mods that already are up then I do not see any big issue. You say you did a search, and made a typo... It happens to all of us at some point! Since you are new to the forums, it is only to be expected that someone tells you the information on how to post! It is not in any way meant to be a rude statement! As you have said it is a rather big site, and situations like this happen, and when it does then the staff will make a comment about it! But it should never be meant as anything more then helpful advice for future reference! Hope that helps clear things up a bit, otherwise just let me know!

Yes HDR is adaptation. If you disable adaptation you do not have true HDR anymore. You can still load in the adaptation code, but limit the amount of the effect.... so you get a sort of semi true HDR. (It is still HDR compared to having adaptation disabled.) As for night vision, then as long as you use a preset that uses the original post processing code for nightvision then it will work.

Like I said, you are technically correct! And I know what you are talking about. But like I was trying to get into, when explaining to people who are not technically on top of the pyramid, then it becomes a bit of a semantics argument. Because to them then it is still just an install order, and when they setup their mod list, it happens from a guide and they will install the mods in that order. And while MO might be special and use priority order, then I doubt the average user is going to notice it! That it is a brilliant idea for the experienced modder is a totally different story! :)Â
-
Imo there is so much overlap between the two terms that it seems like one is just there to make MO sound special hehe ;) And in a manner of speaking it is not wrong... yes you can install them in any order, but the MO still compiles all the info in the virtual dir to "install" what you see ingame. I have called it install order since day one (Again I do not consider individual mod installs, only the end product.), since that is what people can relate too... But I am not going to go into a semantics argument here! Most because you are technically correct, but just saying that it will take time for that to sink in for many people, since they just think install order. As for the unofficial patches... they "should" be ordered in the same way as the DLC where released (But I as I recall it does not even matter, since all DLC resources have their own folder for unique stuff. And their own .esm´s which unique stuff.)... with the HDDLC one last.
-
Yes always since the update.esm contains the official patch info.
-
If I did not know what you mean there Uhuru then I would say its a hard pill to get down :P Saying that install order is irrelevant is a truth with modifications.... since you still need to decide which mod "overwrites" what when there are identical named textures, meshes etc. Would properly be more correct and easier to understand saying that no files are lost to overwrite, rather then saying it does not happen.... when in fact it kinda does.

Ah yes the project continues! Nothing like watching the Starcraft 2 WCS and making textures at the same time! Finally figured out a few ways to create realistic and artistic crystal formations! God bless all the various filters!!!! While this can produce some cool looking fungi, then sadly the rocks looks like they are all polished and shiny... The next step is to find some realistic rocks textures and use as a base, and then go layer crazy with blending in the crystals so it looks good! Then hopefully I will be able to create a rocky looking crystal so that the crystals shine though on the fungi, making them look cool, and the rocks look like a rock with crystals in them! Alternatively then I guess I could make new textures and edit every mesh to use new textures..... but that just seems so much work! Also in other news, then Rootsrat seems like a man on a mission with finding flaws in CoT that I can correct! This whole thing with getting to play the game seems further and further away every day!

If budget is not an issue go liquid cooling, and noise is not an issue.

ACCEPTED Audio Overhaul for Skyrim (by David Jegutidse)
Aiyen replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
My only issue with the mod is that I would have to make a patch for my lighting and weather mods.... I finally got this done for SOS, and it is a chore! If not for this I would have tried it already! -
SKYRIMLE Immersive Snow and Ice - Mountain and Rock Edition
Aiyen replied to exploiteddna's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Any texture is only as good as the ones next to it! :) -
A bit off topic but needs to be said....kinky O_o back on topic! No problem at all! Like I somewhat told Wolf (I take it the acronym is in order :P ) already in pm that it seems ya got plans for this part of our little corner of h... umm the STEP forums, and I am going to respect that.... Okay I am going to try! :)
-
I did not mean that mods dont EVER get updated, just that when they do the edits done here are kinda most likely going to be there even in the updated version. The only case where they might not is if the author fixes the very same issues... in which case the patch does not hurt but is just not required.
-
Most of what is in STEP core are mods that do not change drastically over time, and the areas the patches seem to cover are stuff that would most likely always be included in said version. Hence maintenance should not be that big.

Sorry if I made a mistake there! Did not know the nature of the questions, but thought this was a perfectly reasonable place to ask! :) My bad it seems!

Looks more like its a bloom issue or lighting curve problem. Which is a bit strange. Then again project ENB does require a bit of an install to function properly. Would need more info. Like if you are using any lighting overhauls etc. Even then then it would be a good idea to have another preset ready to test, too see if it an issue related to project ENB or ENB in general. If it is a general issue then it might be a driver bug.

This is meant to be a little bit of random banter, about what I am doing with this skyrim hobby that I keep spending time on! Let us begin! It is 4am in the morning, and I am a bit dismayed! As part of my ever ongoing project to fix various textures that does not fit in with my ENB settings I have recently come across blackreach! I was going there to produce some nice screenshots with my new bloom settings, since I know it has a unique atmosphere! And in general its an interesting place that I cant wait to explore properly someday! Yet I come down and my eyes are met by .... well in lack of a better word, radioactive rocks, and plants. So the first thing to do is ofc. to identify the meshes and in turn the textures that needs to be edited! This is done quickly enough but I find out the plants do not even have a texture responsible for glowing! So then I have to learn to dig into the intestines of the mesh to figure out why it glows! After a bit of trial and error... and realizing that the color in nifskope is not what you see ingame.... I succeed in making radioactive plants into red glowing branches from hell! But well at least I know how to edit the meshes now, so I can return to the glowing rocks! These rocks do have a texture applied to them! A crystal texture no less! After a few attempts at color adjustment I just realize that the texture itself is just bad... an entirely new one is required! I thought.... I just finished messing with Ice textures... the guy who made those did a good job, perhaps they would be easy to adjust the colors for! I put them in and I get..... well something that looks like someone puked up a ball of dirty ice in the middle of my fungi cave! This does not work either! So this night I have been learning how to do crystal textures from the ground up... I have tried to do them using some of the very good mountain textures as a base.... but without much luck! I then decided it was time to do something more basic and just try to do it all from the very start... an entirely clean canvas! After a few hours of finding awkward old tutorials, and doing multiple layers of weirdness and combining them again I produce something that actually does look like a crystal layer. I put it in, and it does look.... crystalline! A bit too crystallized, but something to work with.... BUT!!! Before I leave I turn about and behold the giant glowing fungi...... made of crystal! O_o I look the other way.... some other weird thing hanging down from the roof.... also made of crystal! WTF. Apparently Bethesda thought that everything in this damn cave should have an overlay of this particular crystal layer! So now not only do I have to create a decent looking crystal texture that fit on a rock.... I also have to either fix all the fungi, or remove the effect from the mesh entirely! Like a famous guy once said........ Its never easy!Â

You can alter ENB settings because they have a reset shader setting built in. This is for features like AO, Reflection etc. Most of the GUI controls (Lighting etc.) are done on a per frame basis, so every time a new frame is loaded in then the change will be done on the next. The stuff in the ini´s are stuff that define what the game loads up.... So unless there is a built in feature, or some sort of clever hack of the .exe done then I do not see it happening. (Hopefully I can get put to shame in this matter! :) )

ENB INI tweaks, really necessary?
Aiyen replied to TheCompiler's question in Post-Processing Support
Then you would also need the enbsunsprite.fx file If you want that effect. Then pick the texture as you want. I can recommend Oyama´s sunsprites etc... it should be on hot files atm in his shader suite. -
Hehe Ofc. I just mean I am not going to start every post with "Mod organizer (MO)" and every single mod help post by defining the name of the mod as an acronym... I assume that people know that this is the case. Example if people are asking for help for Skyrim Flora Overhaul, I am just going to say SFO since it should be fairly obvious from the circumstance that this is what is being talked about. But yeah I am never going to go all school girl, acronym only mode lol. But enough of this awkard offtopic thing, it can be moved to somewhere more appropriate I am sure! Also Yes Humbye this would be a good place to ask about such! Then the fine gentlemen who knows all the mojo about MO hopefully answer!Â

ENB INI tweaks, really necessary?
Aiyen replied to TheCompiler's question in Post-Processing Support
The minimal you need is d3d9.dll enbhost.exe enbseries.ini enblocal.ini If you just want to use the vanilla lighting etc. then you also need the enbeffect.fx And in the enbseries.ini you need to have UseOriginalPostProcessing=true UseOriginalObjectsProcessing=true Then you should have the above effects along with vanilla image space support etc. -
Doubt it since the game have to initialize the new changes somehow... and I do not think it is possible to do that without restarting the game.

ENB INI tweaks, really necessary?
Aiyen replied to TheCompiler's question in Post-Processing Support
bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 Must be on or you will get visual errors galore. I would also keep the shadow ones in if you intend to use it to fix shadows.. since otherwise the shadows will be disabled. If you just want the lite version then the following should be enabled. EnableDetailedShadow=true EnableSunRays=true EnableSunGlare=true EnableSoftParticles=true EnableParticleLights=true EnableSubSurfaceScattering=true EnableWater=true They are not performance heavy, and they do help with the lighting and other visuals. Guess you can say that they fix some stuff. -
Borderless Window (One Tweak) and ENBs
Aiyen replied to go2kant's question in Post-Processing Support
Playing in windowed mode will remove the gamma used by ENB in favor of the one your desktop use. Either use full screen, or compensate manually in either the control panel of via the ENB if it has said options.
