Already have made a patch that alters every single weather that your patches does not touch! ;) Also fixes the odd number of issues with several weathers that just have wrong color values... cases where his copy paste have gone a bit too fast. Also fixed many cases of wrong cloud layer values etc. There is an entire range of weathers that have the golden horizon clouds you only see during dusk, stuck during the entire day... there is also a weather where the middle component is just pure black... no amount of ENB stuff is going to help with that. Also disabling it or not does not change the fact that the main difference between cloudy and clear weathers are that the cloudy weathers have a much darker base blue color then clear weathers. As I recall the then clear has 150ish in the blue RGB component, and the cloudy/overcast have 100. That sort of color difference is always going to be really noticeable.

Freeze crossing bridge into Windhelm
Aiyen replied to Quahogs's question in General Skyrim LE Support
If its a mod issue its "easy" to verify.. you do not need your saves... since you say that you cannot coc into the worldspace then you just have to setup a new mod list and then from the main menu use the console to go try it out. Or like you wrote coc into the hall and go out the door... For testing purposes, then move the official textures down to the bottom of your priority list in MO... that way you make sure its not related to memory since the game should be able to run with vanilla textures.. memory wise. -
Need Help Fixing Texture Seams Near Dawnstar Sanctuary
Aiyen replied to gmahadhika's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Properly a mesh issue so you would have to open the CK and nifskope to alter it. Not something I have tried to do so do not have a simple guide at hand on how to fix it yourself.... also I would have to go there and see it. If you can provide excact coordinates it would help quite a bit. You can use the mod STATUS by mannyGT to get them using the MCM menu. (I prefer it over a vague description about where it is.... makes it a lot easier.) -
Freeze crossing bridge into Windhelm
Aiyen replied to Quahogs's question in General Skyrim LE Support
If you cannot load a given cell then yeah.. some mod is altering something in that cell (Worldspace technically since each city is its own world). You could go through tes5edit and see what alters stuff in the windhelm worldspace... but might be quite the ordeal with that mod list. -
Okay did an extensive set of tests of versions. 119 168 233 234 Setting useeffect to false has my FPS stuck at 45,3 near riverwood as it should be. (I play at 1440p) This is the only setting you need to enable or disable to get the overhead, which is minimal. One thing you need to remember when testing v119 is that AF is not enabled by default and is only set to 8x not 16x. This difference is about 5-10 on my machine at my resolution.

Will my computer be able to support SR?
Aiyen replied to iggybug's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Guess I should start a rant about this.... but just woke up so I will do it lightly. There is not really any VRAM limit in the manner that is said above... The only VRAM limit is the one imposed by DirectX itself. For STEP 1k textures is fine on a 1Gb card. Also you cannot really compare the memory use on a 1Gb card with the one from a 2Gb one, since just the fact that you have more memory alters how much is reserved, and hence marked as in use by the monitoring utilities. This is the bane that Monty has been on about oh so many times now. Also most of what is put into the memory is not what is used by the active cell you are rendering atm. Most of it is all the stuff needed to load other cells faster. Some rough theoretical numbers. 1000Mb / 1.3Mb = 769 That would be the absolute total amount of 1k textures at DXT5 compression that could be loaded. This number is a bit lower since you also need the memory to store the rendered frames on card. This is why the more VRAM you have, the higher resolution you can play at without horrible FPS drops. But to the OP´s question. 1Gb VRAM is stretching it for SR. Even if you run at 1k resolutions, then it adds so much extra stuff that you will most likely have a really unstable gameplay. I would always recommend at least a 2Gb card for SR. Going higher is only if you want to do screen archery stuff etc. Since then you start to get into the DirectX limits mentioned above. -
Humidity is never good for hardware... But yeah BSOD is normally related to something not being okay on the hardware front. Remember to let memtest run for at least an entire night!.... unless it starts spewing out errors after a few minutes. As a further stress test you can also run any number of benchmark software.. since they all more or less do the same thing. That way you stress the computer as a whole as well.

Freeze crossing bridge into Windhelm
Aiyen replied to Quahogs's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yeah.... with a list like that then it is quite impressive that you even managed to get that far! :) Using two overhaul mods at the same time.... that just aint a good idea. You also have a rather large amount of extra gameplay adding content on top of the two overhauls... Gotta love how creative people are! :D But as to the issue... then it could be any number of things. If you cannot even use the console to get there then something is broken with the mod list and you most likely just have to drop ever visiting there or start over. It would require that someone has a list almost equal to that which works in order to start troubleshooting it sadly :( -
Now I know that "balancing CoT" is a subjective point, but with the sky fix on or off does not really matter. Since ultimately then the sky colors are just too diverse. You cannot balance 5 different sets of base colors, with just one set of settings and then have all 5 look super epic! You either make separate settings, or reduce the amount of base colors you have to work from. As for the ToD settings then yeah you got it right. As for the dawn/dusk duration's. This defines how long the sunset and sunrise settings are used for. They are there to help make the transition from night to day go a lot smoother, and allows for unique clouds during the phase, and unique color schemes etc. You can think of it as dawn starts at a set hour, then for the duration those settings apply, peaking in intensity in the middle of the duration.

It is really hard to create a specular texture, and place it next to a non specular one and have it look really good... My main issue with this type of textures is that the cutoff is too strong between the specular and non specular textures... Sadly it would be a bit too much work to go and change all surrounding textures so that the transition was more smooth.

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Aiyen replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The first value you should try is always what you have in total VRAM. If those values work out great for ya then keep them at that. If you still get instability or stuttering etc. then try to increase or lower the values depending on how much system RAM you have. In general it is not a good idea to go high unless you have the system memory to back it up. And you ofc. also need higher values of VRAM. -
Any one decal only has to be loaded into memory once.. so memory wise its not a problem. The problem is if it has to render them on and off all the time, like fire impacts from spells etc. Since then it has to access the memory every time it needs to place it... for static objects then they are just loaded once upon a cell load so it should not be as bad.

Someone should try to just fill up their inventory with stuff via console and then see if you can provoke a CTD. Would not be surprised if it had to do with the amount of extra weapons and items etc. one has in the modlist, and when the game has to load enough of it then it just fails. Hmmm guess I should do that test on my own game actually. And no I still do not use safety load since I do not have any ILS on my list.

I would watch that.... if there was some sort of crazy theme, you HAD to follow, and not just playing it safe all the time! :)

Identifying errors on the Papyrus logs, constant CTDs
Aiyen replied to phryxolydian's question in General Skyrim LE Support
No I have never used HAB, so I cannot help with it at all. Also I never did much in terms of savegame corruption, since if I ever wanted to restore something from an old savegame, then I would start a new game and use the console to restore my progress. (You can go to any point in the game using the console, and equip any gear etc.) It is a bit of a hassle if you where really far to find all the correct codes etc. but it beats getting frustrated over corrupted saves and what not. -
I use v186 basic with GoS enabled. I know it is not 100% compatible, but it is compatible enough for my tastes. It still affect the grass that are used the most, and with the same ini settings, then the few that vurt has added do not stand out like a bad thing. So in general I am happy with what I have. In general I really like the new flora, they added a diversity I was missing. There where still a few textures I replaced with my own, but overall vurt has done a great job on his latest work!

I personally love lets play series! But only if people are playing hardcore modes etc. I had a great deal of fun watching one of XCOM Enemy unknown, where the most difficult mode is... well impossible essentially (When you add in a few second wave options anyways). The guy had a great way of making sure to only show the action, and had a generally fun way of doing it. Sadly it took quite a lot of time to do all the editing etc, so he switched over to a mode where he showed everything he did.. but that quickly got really boring since... 45 mins of pressing end turn is not really fun to watch.

Identifying errors on the Papyrus logs, constant CTDs
Aiyen replied to phryxolydian's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Sorry to hear it is so frustrating! But yeah, you should make sure your game works before you start playing since it is almost impossible to salvage a save once you have started. Best suggestion is to stick with the STEP: Core suggestions as a base since these have been proven to work stable on quite a few machines. What you learn from doing that should allow you to add in the few extras you want to play with. Sadly modding is not just plug and play yet! You have to spend a few weeks learning how to do it in order to enjoy the more detailed mod lists. Also you are always welcome to come back with further questions etc. and we will try to help as well as possible. -
Cannot reproduce the issue you describe... I have no FPS hits that depend on the parallax alone. I get more performance if I disable most of the stuff, up until the point where there is only the overhead of having ENB enabled, which on my machine is hardly noticeable.

Selective CTD, possibly regarding Avanchnzel/Dwaven Ruins
Aiyen replied to Swi1ch's question in General Skyrim LE Support
It is a known fact that IC will cause CTD´s if you have its extra spawns functions enabled. This is just due to Skyrim hating to add more spawns... but again this also depends on what other mods you have installed at the time. -

Aiyen replied to phryxolydian's question in General Skyrim LE Support
HAB and ENB does not work together most of the time. And Boris will smite anybody who come and ask about doing any sort of compatibility. You should only use ENBoost if you have a 64bit system... if you have a 32bit one then do not bother, it is not optimized for that at all. And since you only have 4Gb of RAM then once more.. that is most likely the cause of all your issues. -
Odd I only noticed a performance drop if I have water parallax enabled in the latest version. And that only if there is water nearby.

STEP does not advocate that you use 2k textures! For the following very good reason. The engine itself cannot handle pure 2k without the help of these extra utilities. But then we are going into more advanced modding. But again how would you propose we set up a test that shows we have properly tested it? The way I see it then the mod lists we all use (or try to anyways) that would require it are different. Like some use SkyRE some do not. My own build currently does use ENBoost, to make sure I can use 2k textures most of the time.... but I do not have any ILS or Freeze. Hence I do not need this installed. The best thing we can do is to suggest that people try to use these utilities if they run into problems! And then remember to tell that that other issues might arise! I hope that all makes sense hehe! :)
