ACCEPTED aMidianBorn Book of Silence (by CaBaL)

Glass? What glass stuff is added in this update? or is it just a place holder? -
Have you tried using the Race Menu plugin that lets you increase/decrease the size of the arms? You might have to do it every time you start a character, but it's better than nothing.

It's not Fallout 4, it's not TES VI either. It's...
EssArrBee replied to rootsrat's topic in General Game Discussion
I bet Fallout 4 has been in development since they finish working on Fallout 3 DLC and that they are probably big enough to develop two games concurrently. I'm guessing that it will just be a DX10/11 gamebryo engine that they say is built from the ground up. -
New nVidia tech - Position Based Fluids
EssArrBee replied to rootsrat's topic in General Game Discussion
The face rendering stuff they did at their last conference was pretty sweet too. I just hope AMD is around long enough to pushing nVidia to actually develop new tech for gamers. -
Less Intrusive HUD II by Crashnburn Pretty gives any user the ability to move, resize, rotate and/or align any icon or text. Works with iHUD and SkyUI. If you played FNV then you'll remember oHUD gave the ability to move HUD items around, this is basically the same thing. The controls are a little wonky, but after a couple minutes playing around with it the controls are easy. I had problems using the MCM menu so this mod probably needs a few bugs worked out, but definitely allows a degree of control that anyone modding Skyrim would enjoy.

I'm new to this. Are my specs good enough to run these mods?
EssArrBee replied to AnomalousBull's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Not at all. STEP is as old as Skyrim and has been tested the entire time using Steam. If you notice that your laptop is starting to get pushed to it's limit you can just as easily remove or downgrade a few mods until it runs at a less demanding level, which will reduce wear and tear. -
Mod Suggestions for SR - Post in STEP Mods Forum
EssArrBee replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Add in harvest overhaul and tweak a few things in the Uncapper and alchemy only gets worse. Since ApachiiSkyHair is already a part of SR a hair retexture might be considered for it, looks pretty good a bit more natural. LINK -

EssArrBee replied to AnomalousBull's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I'd suggest choosing a less demanding option for the optimized DLC which is the first mod listed under Conflicting Graphics. The current recommendation is to for go that mod if you have 2 GB of VRAM, but you could go with 1.5 GB option which still looks great and will demand a bit less from your laptop. There are a few other mods with lower resolution options too that will help smooth out performance, just look for the LQ on the guide. You might also consider using nvidia inspector to cap your FPS, I put mine at 45 since it's an RPG and I don't need 60 FPS like some twitch shooter. -
Realistic Mushrooms was updated with a Dragonborn file for the mushrooms on the Tel Mithryn side of Solsthiem, might be added to the notes. It is also included in Telvanni Reborn, which covers more stuff and should be looked at for inclusion at least until there is a major Solsthiem replacer.

Is it even wolf fur? Do werewolves kill wolves? I'd say it's cat hair, probably grey khajit. -
Do the changelogs have a direct link to the guide? Maybe I over looked it, but if not then shouldn't that be a thing?

Discussion thread: Telvanni Reborn by Mystery Modder Wiki Link This a retexture of the Telvanni area of Solsthiem for all the mushrooms and the interiors. Mystery Modder is also the author of Realistic Mushroom which is in STEP already, so I guess he really loves mushrooms. Looks like a good candidate for testing since Dragonborn needs to some retextures. I believe these are 2048 textures so they might be to high for baseline STEP, but that shouldn't be an automatic disqualification if there isn't anything else out there. I don't have the time to load it myself, but I didn't want it to get overlooked. see postAccepted for 2.2.8 Core

I've had no problems using it with new game, but loading it with old saves made some of the opening sequences reset like the beheading in Solitude and stabbing in Markarth. I was surprised at how little it affected my framerate while in the cities.

Fallout New Vegas - any STEP-like modding guides out there?
EssArrBee replied to rootsrat's topic in General Game Discussion
Actually if you doing the big install of stuff then try this order: 1. Fixes 2. Restored Content - New Vegas Uncut - If using Open Strip and Open Freeside the 4gb patch and stutter remover are essential. Even with those you will have some stutter and maybe a couple freezes. 3.Darnified UI or MTUI, Misc Item Icons 4. Fellout, Interior Lighting Overhaul or NV Interiors Project, maybe Nevada Skies or a some good weather mod 5. Major Texture Replacers - Vurts, WRP, NMC, Book of Water 6. Additional Replaces & Equipment - Millenia has a bunch of good weapons, and also check out ADAM or Gopher's Armors. ADAM is being taken over by someone that posts unofficial updates in the comments. 7. Enhanced Blood Textures - same as STEP 8. Misc Stuff - Yams Pinup Parade, a small issue with Open Strip (floating poster where wall used to be), Laurens Bathroom Poetry, CONELRAD (Radio Station) 9. Gameplay A. EVE or NVEC ( I only use NVEC Bugfixes + NVCE) B. Project Nevada (PN) -> PN Patches (seperate nexus page) -> PN - Extra Option C. WMX -> WMX DLC plugins -> WMX Modern Weapons -> WMX WRP compatibility D. If using body replacers the get Spice of Life & spice of life PN patch E. Extra Patches: PN-WMX -> PN-EVE -> WMX-EVE (if using EVE, probably a NVEC patch can replace it), PN-ADAM patch(go to ADAM comment for patch and unofficial update) F. More Perks -> More Perks for Companions -> More Traits 10. HUD mods A. MCM B. Extra stuff for HUD that isn't made by Gopher C. OneHUD D. Unified HUD Project E. Weapon Mod Menu (this mod will tell you if you need to reinstall it upon loading a save.) 11. Followers: I recommend Willow and Niner (requires Honest Hearts) 12. Content mods: Beyond Boulder Dome, New Vegas Bounties I & II, The Inheritance, there's plenty more. I've think I followed that pretty much followed that and it worked out that only get freezes or crashes on longer session, around 2 hours, or in Freeside and the Strip if using Open Freeside/Strip. -
Fallout New Vegas - any STEP-like modding guides out there?
EssArrBee replied to rootsrat's topic in General Game Discussion
With FNV it's about getting a setup that you can play for about 90 minutes to 2 hours before a freeze or crash. Modding FNV just pushed the limits of Gamebryo engine. NV stutter remover and 4gd patch are essential. I never used any of gopher's guides except the HUD video. It's pretty simple install order: 1. Uninstall all HUD/Interface mods 2. Install Darnified UI or MTUI 3. (OPTIONAL) Project Nevada 4 (OPTIONAL) Project Nevada - extra options NOTE: Project Nevada has an optionals folder that you need to get into. Extract the files in the Darnified or MTUI folder. 5. Install Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) 6. Install all other HUD altering mods (see above list). 7. Install One HUD 8. Install Unified HUD -
I'd say that LucasArts got stagnant there the last 5-6 years. I'm still skeptical about Disney taking over everything on the gaming side of things, but they did a great job with most of the Marvel movies, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt there. I remember when the fist few Dark Forces games came out, man I loved Kyle Katarn. Speaking of which, it's to bad the Dark Forces Mod was ended after about 6 levels.

Fallout New Vegas - any STEP-like modding guides out there?
EssArrBee replied to rootsrat's topic in General Game Discussion
A lot of texture artists that are recommended for STEP have stuff for FNV, Millenia, Cabal, Vurt... I'd start with the NVEC, but only the bugfixes version first. Or the Mission Mojave mod for fixes. Then onto those artists I mentions along with the NMC retexture pack, medium is good for me, the large version is 7 gigs! Fellout to remove the stupid orange tint. There are a series of restored content mods from moburma80 that are good, just remember 1,3, and 7 are included in the Open Freeside mod. Plus, another modder made a Open Strip mod. That isn't a guide and I don't know of one. As far a GEMS is concerned I would go with the NVEC Complete + NVCE, since it combines tons of gameplay tweaks and fixes so they are compatible and housed under many less plugins. If you have every DLC then get the latest version and 2.9 if not. The Interface mods are really good for FNV, but the install order is dependent on the mods you are using. I've messed around with most of them enough, so let me know if you have trouble. I know that FNV hasn't had quite the support for textures and bugfixes that Skyrim has, but the content mods are so good. -
How do you activate multiple mods at once? or can you select all? I just have never been able to figure out how to do that.

I think that you admin guys should be focused more on a larger STEP update, like 2.3, while some other members can do the grunt work of minor updates, ala 2.2.5, 2.2.6, .... These can be worked out and then given to the main STEP person (people?) for approval before release. That would free up some time spent micro managing the project that goes into the small updates, and then focus can be put into larger updates which I'm assuming would be the STEP packs and STEP lighting recommendations. They will never get done if their isn't a team of people working on them without being bogged down by the smaller updates. STEP is always WIP, so there will never be a perfect time to move on to bigger releases without a group that's soul purpose is to get those bigger releases out.

Not compatible with Clanking Armor, but is probably compatible with all the other mods in STEP. The author is still working out a balance of the sounds that were adjusted, so this one to watch at the moment.

ACCEPTED Skyrim Project Optimization (by rgabriel15)
EssArrBee replied to Besidilo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Candlehearth Hall in Windhelm was the only tavern or castle that I got any jump in FPS between 6-13 FPS, and Jorvaskr Basement seemed to be a better at the entrance. If you have 60 FPS indoors already then it might not help, but if any place drops under 50 FPS, you will see a nice gain. Other than Fixes it could be in Animations & Effects, since it adds the culling effect. The outdoor culling effect may already be as good as it can get, and even many of the indoor places are as good as they can get. -
Skyrim -Community- Uncapper may be hacked
EssArrBee replied to lanbladez's question in Forum Support
The nexus uses lots of servers, so the infected file might not have made it's way through all the download locations. I choose Dallas mostly because I'm in Texas and it safe, so maybe it is a different server that is the source. -
ACCEPTED Skyrim Project Optimization (by rgabriel15)
EssArrBee replied to Besidilo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
It helps the most with the populated interiors like taverns especially at night. Try it at the Bannered Mare and get about 5-10 FPS depending on time of day. If you already are at 60 FPS in most interiors like castles it will not help a ton. From what I understand about Skyrim is that it already uses Occlusion Culling, but the author, rgabriel took it a bit further than Beth did. He did leave a list a of places that are optimized and a list of places that cannot be optimized here. His list is pretty extensive so testing all the interiors is going to take a while, but if we start with castles and taverns (night and day) it would probably give us a good idea about the performance impact. Looks like spreadsheet would work for this vs a ton of screenshots. -
Skyrim Beta 1.9!!!

That sounds like one of those bugs you would leave in the game for while, just for fun.
