Spell impacts bug? White squares appearing
EssArrBee replied to DICEROLL's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Reinstall Deadly Spell Impacts or Burn Freeze Shock Effects or any other spell casting mod you have. -
Adding mods to my mod organizer should I unpack BSAs?
EssArrBee replied to Dweedle's question in Mod Organizer Support
I've talked about whether BSAs or loose files actually have a performance difference. This is something left over from the Oblivion days when the engine was single core driven. Now that the game supports two cores the performance difference is so small that it doesn't matter. You are talking about maybe a .0000001 sec difference in performance for decompressing from a BSA, much smaller than any human can notice. The benefit comes from conflict resolution, and allows customization that you wouldn't have with BSAs. Otherwise there is no reason for unpacking them. -
I'm not supposed to install SKSE through MO?
EssArrBee replied to DICEROLL's question in Mod Organizer Support
Marked as solved. -
I'm not supposed to install SKSE through MO?
EssArrBee replied to DICEROLL's question in Mod Organizer Support
No skse is installed into the Skyrim root directory. MO only installs into the data directory. Instead of trying to install part with MO just ignore that and download the SKSE archive and then extract it into the Skyrim root directory. Way easier. -
Missing Burn Textures and a random CTD when going to Whiterun
EssArrBee replied to Business's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well the mod Deadly Spell Impacts might be installed incorrectly or you might have optimized the files from that mod and now things are messed up. Also, if the burned effects on bodies are off that is Burn Freeze Shock Effects. Try reinstalling the mod/s and then see if it is still purple. -
ACCEPTED Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM (by Brumbek)
EssArrBee replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I hate when he doesn't do an update file. It is so easy to use that and download the big file every so often. -
Stressed out trying to understand system specs and STEP mods
EssArrBee replied to Dweedle's question in General Skyrim LE Support
The Bethesda HRDLC is a mix of 2048 and 1024 textures, but with the HRDLC Optimized you can get a full 1024 version and forgo using the HRDLC. It is better than trying to reduce all the textures yourself. -
Script Latency should be between 50 and 100, so you have way to many scripts running. I'm surprised that your game even starts.

Following STEP guide, SMIM info is outdated..?
EssArrBee replied to DICEROLL's question in General Skyrim LE Support
You should install SMIM 1-56 then choose the option in MO that is just like the ones listed in the Recommendation for the mod. I haven't done the installer in a bit so I forget, but I think you choose Vanilla style barrels with animation and not sure about about second option. After install, leave the SMIM ESP unchecked since the USKP ESP will take care of the meshes that are included in the mod. -
Stressed out trying to understand system specs and STEP mods
EssArrBee replied to Dweedle's question in General Skyrim LE Support
The Core i5/GT 650M setup is a descent enough for STEP with all the lowest options you can get. Don't use the HRDLC from Bethesda and just use the full 1024 version of the Optimized HRDLC mod that is listed in the conflicting graphics section. Also, you might leave out mods like Burn Freeze Shock Effects and Deadly Spell Impacts. They can cause crashes during combat if you don't have the power to handle it with Skyrim's touchy engine. -
Yeah and it is the enbseries.ini that you change. Most of the info is in the ENB guide, but use it while in game like Aiyen said. I think there are only two sections in the enbseries.ini that I didn't do yet.

Always start the SKSE with MO, otherwise you are starting the game without the virtual directory. Somehow you have a broken save, not sure how many saves you have tried. I would also go ask if this something that has happened to others on the MO nexus thread. Wolverine and Vuud (DoubleYou on STEP) are pretty good with support and know most issues.

BOSS: New Import Stats Tags since today's Masterlist update?
EssArrBee replied to Nearox's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Just read the Wrye Bash Readme doc and look at the Stats tag for more info of what is going on. Also, it might not be fully implemented in the current Wrye Bash version and they updated the BOSS masterlist to test new WB features. Maybe someone is finally going in and porting all the CBash stuff. -
Quick Tip. Mod Organizer feature explained, Manage Categories in MO.
EssArrBee replied to GSDFan's topic in Mod Organizer
A lot of this info is really good GDSFan, but we also have a wiki and you should add it in there. You can make it a personal page or add it to the MO guide. Probably in the troubleshoot section or create a new tab for it. -
I've also tried using Sir Garnon's ( the Skyrim Performance Monitor dude) new Archive Invalidation program, which generates the entire ArchiveInvalidation.txt instead of the BSA. I've always had a few issues with red exclamations and using the esp-less version of WFO. The program will not see the VFS and only generates a list from the actual data folder. I tried submitting a ticket for it and I couldn't get the site to work, so not sure how to get it to work, but I like the idea of using a txt file generator so nothing is missed.

I've tried this a bunch of times, but FOMM crashes the second I click anything if started through MO. If the nexus would just allow 32-bit NMM to be installed it wouldn't be such a pain.
-
MO has local save games, so maybe that is what the issue is. The scripts that are in the data directory are the same no matter what, but what scripts are running in your save game is what matters. Somehow those got messed up and reset to the beginning.
-
This is probably pretty common if you use existing saves with a fresh install of a major mod guide. It is alwasy recommended to use a new game when using something like SR.
-
I think that is one of the strengths of the Diversity plugin. Now everything blends together instead of the harvestables sticking out.
-
Did you also let Brumbek know on the SMIM page so he could fix it?
-
At least they were creative enough to use foreign language.

Wrye Bash is still really good at what it does, but development for it kinda slowed as no one wanted to go in and convert CBash over from Oblivion to Skyrim for the bashed patch to get better. MO is pretty active in development and switching over is annoying, no way around that. Between those two I wouldn't say there is a wrong mod manager. The biggest difference is that you can set up profiles for different mod lists in MO since it uses a virtual directory instead of putting mods in the DATA directory. A lot people who mod constantly (AKA the STEP Team) uses MO and WB together. As for the wizards I think you need to look for the little wand in the corner of the box. Usually it is for white boxes and you'll see the little wand, right-click and select wizard.

SKYRIMLE A Matter of Time - A HUD clock widget (by SkyAmigo)
EssArrBee replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
As long as it has a hotkey to turn it on and off, I'm going to use this forever. I'm so tired of hitting wait or menu to see the time. -
The top file (grey one) is the original file and you can hide it or delete it if you want, since it is small. The bottom file with the white box means it is now in complex BAIN format and you can just pick which ever box you want for the moon size tweak. We recommend x.5, but it is mainly a preference issue.
