HD Enhanced Terrain & Enhanced Distant Terrain
EssArrBee replied to blinghound's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Moved to support and troubleshooting. -
Maybe I posted this before, but I forget. All the mods that I think are mergeable and the author's mod will not be necessary to download for the STEP compilation style patch. I do like tech's idea of two patches that do not have all the mods, but in the case of say Disease Descriptions, we shouldn't give a choice since that is just renaming some descriptions and not an intrusive thing. Users wouldn't only ever see it in the Magic menu descriptions for the effects. If we do what kryp has said earlier and start merging the plugins that are only textures or meshes, so users will still need the original mod and just not use the mod's esp, then I say lets have two plugins for that scenario. EDIT: Oh and right now Skyrim LE is 20 bucks or the DLC are $10, but I'd wait till they are part of a flash sale.

You can pretty much chop those babies up any way you want. There really is no credit to give, just "The STEP Team". Any pack author is really just part of that team, so have at it. I would just say no need for STEP Patch because this patch inherits the changes.
-
It was left out because I went with USKP which I feel supersedes just about everything else. That isn't going to break the game though. It might change the way the water looks in that cell, but it is really shallow in that part of Whiterun so maybe it is best not to mess with it.
-
Okay Kelmych, I get what you are saying. There looked to me like 7 places that should be forwarded in all. I don't see another mod making changes to that section, but some might leave off that location record. I just uploaded the changed patches. I'm still not going to start merging mods into the patch quite yet. I will add that into a 2.2.8 directory and start there.
-
Since Unique Region Names is no longer in STEP there is only a conflict with Birds and Flocks which is already patched. There are no Core mods that overwrite HF location names, and only a couple in Extended, but they are forwarded. People that add extra mods to their load order on top of STEP can't be helped because it is impossible to patch for every individual. We can always point people to using our patches and then adding to it for their own purposes, which is what I did with my personal setup.
-
@kryp That's a great idea, I didn't even think of that. It is kinda like using USKP and not needing the SMIM plugin. I look at just how much I can jam into a single patch. Maybe we can get Extended around to the 100 plugin mark.

The FNVEdit training manual is the best thing for getting into patching. https://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/38413//? There is no bigger source of info available for using TES4Edit, FNVEdit, FO3Edit, or TESVEdit. They all basically do the same the thing.

Can you give me the IDs of those three records and I will double check?

ACCEPTED Weapon and Armor Fixes (by kryptopyr)
EssArrBee replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Those are new and haven't been evaluated yet. I doubt we will add them in. Pretty much stick to what we suggest. -
I didn't like Dawnguard my initial playthrough, but the second time through I quite liked it. The Hidden Vale is really nice, and the secondary quest you get from a book is pretty good too. With a couple of werewolf and vampire mods it gets much better too.

ACCEPTED aMidianBorn Book of Silence (by CaBaL)
EssArrBee replied to EisDrache's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
IDK I don't actually remember having to mess with that yesterday when I opened it up in TES5Edit. That probably means it is okay. EDIT: I just looked at them and all is good. Upadte to WAF 4.0. -

WAF was updated yesterday so get the new version. -
There are no patches still needed, I added any patch that was only patching two mods. The readme lists all of them in the installation instructions pretty clearly. It also covers all five patches, but do not upload the three extra patches on the nexus. It will only confuse people, so I will amend that part of the readme. We can always stick the pdf in the archive with the patches or just make the readme more for using STEP to direct people to us. Thanks Will, I think for a compilation process we should maybe do that as part of 2.2.8. It would be better than updating the site to add in a couple changes every time we get permission to add a new mod.
-
Yes they are ready for release, the readme is updated, and some have already started using them and asking questions. The guide will have to be updated to reflect that we have merged a few patches into this to save plugin slots. Also, to only use one patch at a time either Core or Extended. As we discussed earlier about merging even more mods into this patch to make it a mod compilation or sorts, that would be the next phase I guess. That would consist of asking permission to merge certain mods into our compilation patch, like Dragon Voice with Shout, Blessings, Disease Descriptions.... Others will just get added as we see fit like Moon Size Tweaks, I can just make a version of it manually without having to ask permission, just a simple edit. We can just keep a list of the mods that are used in the compilation and encourage people to give an endorsement or something.

Okay updated to be up to date with WAF 4.0. Not many changes needed to be made. Redownload here. Only use one patch at a time, read the readme to see what other mods are not needed with STEP Patches, , blah blah blah.

I actually forgot to mention one of the all-time greatest games, one of those that are so good you might never play anything else ever again. Yeah, System Shock 2 was that game. Cyber-punk and madness at it's best. I should mention Deus Ex too, but I never got into that like System Shock. I'm actually kind of ashamed that I forgot about it considering how much time I played it. Still can't believe that was 14 years ago. Good thing guys like Vurt share my love of SS2 and have given it a proper facelift. One of my gaming confessions is that I've never actually played anything from Blizzard and haven't played any Final Fantasy game. The blizzard one I do feel bad about, but my feelings on some JRPGs is that the only things that should have 14 sequels is porn.

I don't think so, I will update them a little later today. Probably forgo updating WAF until then.

Probably have to go with the Metroid Prime series. Link to the Past was awesome. Probably the best game on SNES except for Super Metroid. As a kid the Metroid series was one of my favorite and even today I play the Prime trilogy on Dolphin. Nintendo is easily the most influential company in video games, and I don't even think there is a close second. N64 era was so much fun, from Mario to Zelda to anything from Rare. Mostly Nintendo published games, but they were still great. Gamecube was just carrying the torch with Prime and Windwaker and RE4. I think if you look back that RE4 is actually the last really great title Capcom has released. Maybe Dead Rising or Street Fighter 5, but those were good games not quite GOTY material like RE4. Gotta like the KOTOR games. Bioware just knows how to write fun RPG stories. Balder's Gate->KOTOR->Mass Effect->DA:O. All really fun games with fun mechanics. Hopefully they don't mess up DA:Inquisition. I also have to give a shout out to the heyday of twitch shooters. Quake, Unreal, CS all sucked away part of my life. They were much more fun with bad graphics IMO due to the fast paced nature that was part of it. The focus was on fun and not reflections, shadows, realism....

Well he is using Intel Graphics 3000, which means that he did not set up something properly and his discreet card is not being used or he doesn't have a discreet gpu and the game crashes before the cpu explodes. If you have ENB or some other injector installed then you need the Optimus fix use them properly, search for it on the nexus.

step 2.2.7 and Interesting NPCs
EssArrBee replied to stepwanw's question in General Skyrim LE Support
1) No valid game data means that you didn't have anything in there that mattered. It was just probably text files and stuff that isn't going to be used by the game. Usually if you make a Bashed Patch or some SkyProc patches it will put those in Overwirte and then you can make the mod and it will look like all the rest. 2,3&4) There is no conflict, the files you moved were copies of the cleaned plugins incase you want to revert back to them, but they are not technically game data, that would be plugins, textures, meshes,... You don't really need the backup plugins unless you are super anal about that stuff, but I doubt you will ever want to revert to the old Dawnguard.esm with dirty edits. 5&6) Again you do not need to worry about those files. I was mentioning the process to remove things from the Overwrite directory because many users use Wrye Bash through MO to generate a Bashed Patch, and also, STEP Extended uses a SkyProc patch for Dual Sheath Redux. Both of those plugins end up in the Overwrite directory, but if you want to make a new profile then you will need a Bashed Patch and SkyProc patch for that profile. The Overwrite directory carries over from profile to profile, so it is best to clear it out before switch profiles. If you only have a few backup plugins which you will probably never use or some text files then ignore the procedure. What you are trying to do with the Overwrite directory is remove game assets like plugins, textures, meshes, animations if you run FNIS -
SKYRIMLE Better Xbox360 Controller - 8 hotkeys quicksave -load and more
EssArrBee replied to Ubeogesh's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I didn't know that it had an MCM menu, I'll have to look the mod over again. I don't use quicksave either, and after I bought a chatpad for $6 on ebay, I had all the buttons I'd ever need. Right now my dual wield block is left bumper, sprint is right bumper, and shout is left analog. I reassigned change perspective to the chatpad with all my hotkeys and the menus. My Dpad is now four loadouts, I don't like using the in between parts because it is too touchy. Saving is something I get so used to with the inherent problems you will eventually run into modding any Beth game, so just get used to doing it every couple of load doors. -

SKYRIMLE Better Xbox360 Controller - 8 hotkeys quicksave -load and more
EssArrBee replied to Ubeogesh's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
You can edit the controlmap.txt to allow the gamepad and keyboard to be used at the same time without having to do some weird Xpadder config. Before I had a 360 chatpad I used to keep the keyboard next to me and just hit a few keys that I needed, like X to toggle compass. I like that so many games have XNA support for PC so controllers are plug and play. Makes the HTPC thing much easier, hopefully Valve's weirdo controller has a similar system. Would be really nice to get a couple extra buttons on the controllers though, just two more, then again the nintendo has two button and that seemed like enough.
