The most ridiculous mods
EssArrBee replied to Octopuss's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I don't mind mods that are intentionally silly. Joke mods are welcome sometimes when you get tired of serious RPG playthroughs and just want to go crazy. Case in point, Master Shake Armor. There is a really great comedy mod for Half Life 2 called Dayhard. Always good to have silliness with ragdoll physics. EDIT: just had to add this one. -
DROPPED Unofficial Skyrim Patch (by Unofficial Patch Project Team)
EssArrBee replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Does this also mean that egocarib could just make his own fix and give it to us? *wink* *wink* -
As far as the way these are loaded, the problem may be that we have to many places to create INI edits. You can do it manually, have one included with a mod, make an edit in the info pop up of a mod in MO, and included an INI tweaks folder. That may just be to many and there is no hierarchy that will really be the best option. A mod with specific INI edits should probably be used since the author is putting them their for a good reason. Knowing that though, STEP should not overwrite any of those INI edits (the plugins with the paper clip icon) for any reason.Â

Dude, watch your back. Those Bronies are like the mafia., shouldn't be making fun of them. They will find you… sleep with one eye open. ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
New STEP CORE install CTD at New
EssArrBee replied to Barvis's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well, you can manually move the mods around in the plugin tab on the right pane. It should look like this: Skyrim.esmUpdate.esmUnofficial Skyrim patch.espDawnguard.esmUnofficial Dawnguard Patch.espHearthfires.esmUnofficial Hearthfires Patch.espDragonborn.esmUnofficial Dragonborn Patch.espTry that as a starting point. -
Okay, I moved them to WB support forum. I always wondered why no one just picked up the WB mantle and ported CBash to work as a standalone project. Wrye opensourced the whole the thing for anyone to use. Lev seemed like he was a Java guy, so maybe that is why he avoided the C++ stuff from CBash. I actually know a decent amount of Java so maybe I should look into SkyBash. Just a casual glance at some of the files, and I can see that SkyProc has functions for pretty much every type of record a FormID can hold. Hmm... if I get into this now, I probably won't sleep till Thurday.

New STEP CORE install CTD at New

Look at the directions that BOSS gives for the Unofficial Patches so they are sorted correctly. There should be a link somewhere on your BOSS report that will tell you what to do to sort those correctly. -
STEP type guide for Fallout New Vegas
EssArrBee replied to Synixtrix's topic in General Fallout 3 Discussion & Support
I added a spoiler tag to make things smaller, but it looks like a decent setup. Thank you for your feedback. I noticed that you are using MMUE and YUP, but I think you should check if they are compatible. Both are trying to patch many things and there may be some overlap that could conflict. I really want to get back into FNV soon, hopefully with a couple of people returning to help out with STEP, I can focus on this. I would love to write a plugin for installing Unified HUD that works for MO. That would really make my life easier since I would want to use MO just because it is kind of the STEP mod manager. No offense to Wrye Flash NV, but it seems that development has stopped on it at the moment. -
[Solved] Close to having 2.2.8 installed NO ADS.esp
EssArrBee replied to Barvis's question in General Skyrim LE Support
When you install mods that aren't in the correct format you need to select a data directory. In the case of Consistent Older People that means when you double click the file in the right pane and the pop up shows you  the mod files, that you need to right click the correct folder that will act as the data directory. In the case of this mod you choose Data. -

Do not install both files, just the loose assets version. You can reinstall just that mod and hit replace. Merge is for a different situation. -
Thank you for the feedback on this issue Mr. Logan. I will leave some input in Tannin's thread about the way INIs are handled. I agree as well that we hold off on including these in the STEP Patches we distribute to users until the bugs are worked out. I do like the approach to INI tweaks from MO more than the WB approach and that it will be something STEP can use to further streamline installation in the future. Every time I start up WB, it feels old to me, like it has outgrown it's usefulness. It is an opensource project so maybe someone will port the Bashed Patch to a MO plugin, but that is just dreaming.

EssArrBee replied to Barvis's question in General Skyrim LE Support
The STEP Core Patch, Diverse Priests, and Consistent older people do not need BYOD if you use the correct versions. I just rechecked everything and you may have the wrong version of some mods. Not clear on the Consistent older people problem... the optional file is fine. -
You could download Glary Utilities, get it at Ninite.com. Install it and go to the advanced tab and under file management there is a file undelete function. If to much time hasn't passed the file will still be on the drive since your computer does not delete things, it just sets them to be overwritten.

Mod Organizer can only install into the Skyrim/data folder, but SKSE .dll and .exe needs to be in the Skyrim folder. SKSE also has folders that go in the Skyrim/data folder so they need to be repacked to be installed with MO. This isn't necessary, but we recommend it.Â

Here is a list of the INI tweaks that STEP recommends: We need to make sure that these edits work with the MO feature that lets users make tweaks without editing the original INIs. It is easy to test if you have a profile with all default settings and use the file I uploaded below. The file is just the step patches and a folder with called INI tweaks. Install the file then right click->information in the left pain of MO. In the info pane that pops up under the INI-files tab tick both Skryim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini to activate the INI tweaks. Test everything I haven't already verified above. Verified stuff is in Orange, discard anything in RED unless you want to verify it. STEP Patches.7z

How do you see it they get merged on startup? Is there a console command to spit out specific setting specs? I'm sure there is but I just did eyeball tests with AA/AF and the Beth intro. Going from 0 to 8x AA and 16x AF is easy to see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

DROPPED Dragonborn Mages Robes Retexture Pack (by Rafuel)

The author was working on the regular robes and then just disappeared. To bad to because hey are really great. Been using these for a long time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Top of animations is okay I don't think it overwrites/underwrties anything. Good to finally have another tester back.

NVSE never really made it out of beta and hasn't been developed in years so don't expect anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, the problem is on their end not yours. The nexus has been making lots of changes lately and they tend to go offline quite a bit, so just wait it out a bit.
-
Well there are no other levels of the mod. It is really just an esp and a text file. I just copied the INI tweaks folder into it to make the test archive. Also, MO does not place Readme.txt in the data tab, it just lists it under textfiles when you bring up the mod info. It is a nice little feature. The mods that do not name their readmes, readme.txt, are the ones cluttering up your data tab.
-
Okay so I just tried out this INI tweaks folder and it is pretty trick. Basically, you install the any mod that has an INI tweaks folder and it will add the included INIs to the information pop up in the INI-Files tab. Just tick the check boxes. Now we just need to test the settings to make sure they get merged on start up. I'll upload a file with the settings in the STEP Patches archive, so anyone can test. STEP Patches.7z

Not sure about that but we could move it to the end of step 3 and just say that it is installed with the step patches. We have to have those settings somewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
