PS: Took your advice techangel and also included the step version also Once I know I am properly doing this right, ill upload the rest of the furniture comparison shots that I have completed. Update 1: uploaded table version Update 2: uploaded chest version (will also include clutter version either tonight or tomorrow)
  2. Well, since I got some free time, Ill try the clutter & furniture pack and do some screenshots to the best of my ability. Will most likely only do vanilla & Langley first and maybe incorporate some of steps mods in the future. PS: Before I start, how would I figure out what some of the NIF files means. For example: rug01, rug02, rug03 How would I know where these nif are in the game. Is there a way to find out where rug01 is located and so on? or do i just blindly look for every rug and take a screenshots?
  3. Dear Step Community, How is the progress on the comparison shots for this mod. Is the team still in the process of making this happen or have we decided to postpone this decision
  4. If Grid, who was formerly the most expensive collectors edition with the steep price of $125,000, has not been sold since its release. It is very unlikely that anyone would shell out a million dollars for these so called benefits that they couldn't purchase themselves. The only way I can actually see someone purchasing anything above the $100,000 for a collectors edition, would be the only franchise that actually has the namebrand to make it happen, which is the Grand Theft Auto Series.
  5. I have to strongly disagree with the choice that AOF is far superior than SLF Rough in my opinion. By looking at the shots alone, one can clearly see the difference in quality between these two mods. AOF personally looks like it changes the texture from the original vanilla concept to make it look better, while SLF Rough actually enhances the vanilla hair to high res instead of changing the original concept. I just want Step members to actually do a vanilla to AOF look and vanilla to SLF Rough look and see that AOF is not a smooth transition while SLF Rough still uses the original concept but makes it look high res.
  6. I am curious what the step team thinks of this mod. From the screenshots alone, this mod looks like it has alot of potential
  7. So out of curiosity, Is this mod still in the process of replacing Snow and Rock HD? From the recent comments and screenshots, it seems many agree that Hectrol is better than Snow and Rocks. What is the STEP Teams decision on this matter?
  8. So I have been reading the previous comments and it seems alot of the post recommends the elimination of better rocks/mountains because no stretching takes care of the issue. So my question is, why is the current step recommending better rocks/mountain?
  9. One of the biggest eye sores in skyrim history has finally been fixed. I believe that many of us would agree that this should be added to the next step update right away. Great Job Sparrow and keep the small immersive mod fixes coming.
  10. Just curious what you guys think about this mod vs this mod Link below https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1878 For some reason, I think the link that I provided looks alot better and more detailed. Let me know your thoughts
  11. @torminater Thanks for the quick and efficient reply. =)
  12. First of all, I want to clear up the confusion regarding his version of the Unofficial Patch vs the original. Considering the original unofficial patch is in a bsa format, the loose files that he uses in his mod would not be compatible. As a result, all he did was extract the files from the bsa file to a loose format to make it compatible with his mod so that you can overwrite the files from the unofficial patch over his. Now to my question at hand. Do I need the Dragonborn DLC for the updated HD pack to work properly? I know this might sound pretty obvious but I just want to make sure whether or not their would be any issues with the dragonborn portion of the HD pack if I dont have the dragonborn dlc installed. Anyone who can enlighten me on this simple question would be much appreciated.
  13. Just wanted to update that the author stated that he didnt know how to merge the esp into one and if anyone could aid him, he is willing to merge them for the community.
  14. I am actually curious what the step team thinks about this mod. In less than a week or 2, this mod has gained a tremendous following that many in the community have stated to be the best lighting overhaul in nexus. It also gained 1000 plus endorsements in less than a week and also was complimented by the nexus creator himself darkone. I have been reading in the comment section and personally pmed the author and have gotten some positive reactions to this mod. Many have stated, that this mod surpasses the current RCRN and is a successor to Realistic Lighting with Customization that is compatible with Climates of Tameril. So basically you get the amazing weather system of climates, but also get the best of the interior/exterior lighting with no post processing. It also states that there is little to no fps loss compared to rcrn which has a noticeable fps hit. Just by these little tidbits about this mod, for me personally I cant see how this mod doesnt replace RCRN as the main lighting system. I understand that you guys are going to recommend many post processing options, but this one seems like a no brainer. Anyway, just want to see the thoughts of hte step team and the community regarding their thoughts on this mod.
  15. VERSION .139 Has Been Released For SkyRealism Go Check It Out
  16. Thanks for the info, During the time I have posted this, I have tested this method out on my game and found out that the vsync off with fps limiter does indeed give me the performance boost with the elimination of the mouse input lag and also negates the physics issue that many have stated to see with it off. I can confidently say that using this method that I have asked does indeed improve the smoothness of my game and will continue to use this method from now on for my skyrim game.
  17. Dear Step Community, Like many of you, I have been trying to get the best performance out of my current setup by tweaking and testing different types of mods, while still enhancing the game visually. But as of yesterday night, I was stumped on one specific tweak regarding the vsync and fps limiter. Throughout the night, I have been looking at my good old friend google to find the answer regarding this issue but have always come with mixed answers. Some stated you should never turn off vsync as it causes physic issues in the game, while others stated that turning off vsync improved performance and eliminated mouse lag. By analyzing these comments regarding this issue, would it be viable to turn off v sync to get the improved performance/elimination of mouse lag and use the fps limiter to eliminate the physic issue in the same process? Or does this tweak that i am considering not going to actually improve performance and I should just stay with the default vsync on? Any help will be greatly appreciated PS: Most likely going to limit the fps to 58
  18. Already done, Male version is here https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28879
  19. Thanks again for answering all my questions. It seems SSAO does exactly what i described it did. Whether or not it is worth the 5-8 fps drop that i get from it is still debatable on my end. I have also tested out the brighter metal version and found out that everything in skyrim is a bit more orange compared to the original cinematic version. Hopefully the author of Skyrealism will update his mod to the latest enb which has been stated to increase performance by a good margin.
  20. Thanks for the quick reply. A few more questions if you dont mind. 1. What exactly does volumetric fog actually do? I am looking at the screenshots in RCRN but cant see much of a difference? Also which one do you use? Subtle or Heavy? 2. Are you using Cinematic original or with brighter metals? 3. Have you tried SSAO? If so, can you give me a brief explanation as to what this setting actually changes? I have been doing comparison shots with SSAO on and SSAO off and so far have seen only these differences a. Makes shadows alot darker b. Makes the environments such as grass, landscape, structures. etc alot more darker in color (examples grasses are much more darker compared to SSAO off) I have been told consistently that SSAO makes the biggest quality improvements but cant justify it if all it does is make the landscape darker. If you or anyone from step can explain this to me, I will be very grateful
  21. Just wanted to update on this topic. By now, I am pretty sure that many of you guys know that the new version of the enb .121212 was recently released. After doing some extensive testing throughout different environments in Skyrim, I can now verify that there is indeed a performance boost on the new version. The SSAO effect has also been redone and has shown a noticeable increase on performance wise. Another great feature that is included in this new update is that this is one of the most stable releases in a long time. I have not found a single bug that I have seen in previous versions (such as the shadow bug) and the shadows actually look a little better. In another note, I have talked to the author of SKyrealism and he is currently working on a new release for enb .121212 and has also noted that if anyone wants to try the new version, just change these parts in the enbseries.ini (however the ssao will not work as intended as it was redone, as a result people using SSAO with this tweak will not see the current version of the author SSAO tweak in enb .121212) [FIX] IgnoreLoadingScreen=true [EFFECT] EnableReflection=false [sSAO_SSIL] AOMixingType=2 AOIntensity=1.0 AOType=0 [REFLECTION] Quality=1 FilterQuality=2 FilterBluriness=0.1 SizeScale=0.75 SourceTexturesScale=0.35 Amount=1.0 Power=1.0 Hope this information has helped you guys
  22. @ technagel85 Thanks your for the reply and even more so on the screenshots. When I first read your reply, while observing your screenshots, I was completely dumbfounded on why my screenshots for my game did not look as similar compared to yours. In my game, using the combination of Skyrealism and RCRN together caused major lighting issues such as blinding snow texture, NPC/character having a shiny forehead, and color issues that made my game look bleak. However, after reading your comment the 2nd time, I realized that the version of Skyrealism that you were using was completely different from mine. The version that you were using was the Cinematic version while I was using the recommended Compiler version which was the Vibrant Edition. When I changed the Skyrealism version to cinematic, the problems such as the blinding snow textures and shiny forehead on NPC seemed to be removed. Now my last question to you is, can u give me some of the location of your screenshots so that I can make similar screenshots to compare if I am getting the similar quality as yours? Thanks PS: Did you install any major mods that would make your screenshots look alot better? (not talking about texture mods but any extra lighting mods that could effect the picture)
  23. Dear Step Community, Like many of you, I have been testing out different post processing specs to see which combination of mods would make my game look incredible. However, after reading through some comments on the forums of SkyRealisim, RCRN, and Step forums, I am currently in doubt whether or not a combination of mods such as a ENB and RCRN would be compatible or even viable. On the Skyrealism forum, One of the authors named MTichenor, replied this to Darthrevan316 regarding the compatibility with RCRN and SkyRealism "@DarthRevan316 Do NOT use ENB with RCRN. Pick one or the other. To give you an analogy, using two different post-processing systems (such as ENB and RCRN) is like wear two pairs of prescription glasses. Wearing one or the other will make things look better, but if you wear both at the same time, you can't see s***. If you want some help figuring out which one to use... Here's the rundown on RCRN: They have a fancy web page filled with awesome graphics and lots of buzz-words, and a custom installer. They use the Creation Kit to tweak the imagespaces in Skyrim and add a standard FXAA post-process that can be found by Googling "FXAA". It has 3 different presets, all of which are very well done. RCRN is like Macintosh; Pretty packaging, lots of buzz words, and a loyal fan-base of people who can't figure out how to do it themselves and are easily impressed. Here's the rundown on ENB: It's a custom piece of software written by Boris Vorontsov, and uses custom programmed DirectX DLL file to run custom shader code, and change literally every aspect of the rendering system through an INI file with literally hundreds of different settings that you can tweak yourself. It's difficult to use, requiring manual installation and tweaking of several Skyrim INI file settings, and requires a User Manual to figure out what all the settings mean. ENB Evolved has some highly sophisticated custom Depth of Field and HSV color correction algorithms (written by me) which you can change to suit your tastes as well. ENB Evolved has 11 different presets, and ENB in general has 300+ different variants found on SkyrimNexus alone. ENB is like Linux; Custom software designed for experts who want to change everything to make it perfectly suited to their own tastes. " On the ENB Visual Comparision topic on Step Besidilo stated " RLwC, CoT, and RCRN should not be mixed unless the user is attempting to play around with a lot of unknowns." So my question is, from the information that I have gathered from these post, would you also advise myself to only choose one or the other and not combine them both? Is there truly a incompatibility with combining these mods together that it might cause lighting issues such as a blinding snow effect that I have heard from others? I know Compiler has a mod called RCRN Plus that includes both, but It seems most of the authors of enbs/rcrn all advise its users to not combine them. What are your thoughts on the matter?
  24. Thank you very much for the quick reply Farlo
  25. Dear Step Community, Would It be possible for me to extract both bsa for HighResTexturePack01.bsa and HighResTexturePack02.bsa file and combine them together into one archive file? For example, here are the steps i would take. 1. Extract both HighResTexturePack01.bsa and HighResTexturePack02.bsa using BSAopt 2. Combine the texture folder from HRDLC2 to HRDLC1 3. Install the HRDLC Fixes and Tweaks to HRDLC1 and overwrite 4. Archive the HRDLC1 File with 7zip 5. PLace the HRDLC1.7zip file to Bash Installer 6. Install using wrye bash 8. Delete both esp and bsa from data folder Would this scenerio work? I would love to have all the fixes in one archive file. And before you recommend Z guide on the fixes, I would like to see if this alternative way would also work Any help on this matter would help myself and the community on answering this question. Thank you and I eagerly await for a response.
