  1. MAJOR BUG REPORT (SOLVED) After days of research on why I couldn't absorb dragon souls (even on a clean install). I found that the problem was related to MO. For example: When I launch the game through MO, Everything seems to be working perfectly fine till I battled with a dragon. Normally, when the dragon dies, I would absorb the soul, and continue on my adventure. However, in this occasion, when the dragon died, it didn't dissolve or let my character absorb the soul. This baffled me, because I had a fresh install of skyrim with no mods. (including the default skyrim ini & skyrimpref) Than out of curiosity, I started the game through the normal TESV.exe, and found that the problem was fixed. I tried this multiple times on both MO & TESV.exe launch and found the result to be the same everytime. So I would like to officially announce this bug.
  2. Or It could be that the person reporting the instability is blaming this tweak for something that was already present in his system. Same thing can be said for the multithreaded tweak, the people that state it is working could be having a placebo effect instead of having hard evidence to prove it. But one thing is a fact, those tweaks do have some effect on the game, but whether it actually improves performance, I cant officially say.
  3. Dear Step Community, A fellow nexus member gave me this website which I thought was interesting as it contains most of what step incorporates and other useful tips in a clean simple guideline. https://itcprosolutions.com/skyrimguides/tweak_guide.htm Enjoy
  4. Sounds Good, Let me know if it fixes your problem.
  5. Garfink, try to delete the esp and use the texture only. Considering the script seems to be the problem for the freezing, using the texture only should work without any problems.
  6. I just want to verify this information one last time. So has it been proven that this mod causes CTD/freezing? I can understand the CTD/freezing if your using multiple heavy scripted mods such as BFS, DSI, EBI, & etc, but I just want to confirm if this mod as a standalone actually causes CTD/freezing. Like neovalen, it is hard for me to see this mod go, unless it actually will be detrimental in my long term playthrough.
  7. Well after a couple hours of trying to figure out the problem. I realized the problem was not driver related, but a program that I installed that ate up more than half of my Ram memory. This caused my game to freeze for a second randomly because of the lack of free memory. So thanks everyone that contributed to this topic but the problem was not driver related but my own misdoing. Moderators please close this topic, and Thanks
  8. Hey Step Members, I have a question to any AMD user out there with the latest beta driver. Have you seen a lag spike on your gpu? For example, when monitoring your gpu usage, do you see your usage spiking up from 30 to 50 to 70 to 90, and than a 1 to 3 second freeze. Even when you have a constant 60fps? This has been bugging me, and I would like to know if this is a driver issue and nothing else. I know I can always revert back, but by using the old drivers, Rome 2 is unplayable which is the main reason I upgraded to the Beta version. Let me know if you have similar problems, Thanks
  9. Good morning, Good afternoon, Good Evening, to all the step members & guest alike. I have updated the front page with new screenshots, including ELFX Enchancer. Let me know your thoughts on these new screenshots, and thanks for everyone that has contributed in this discussion. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
  10. I am so torn right now with both these lighting mods. I love Realistic Lighting Overahul because a. It has a realistic feeling b. I love the warm pallette However, I dislike RLO because a. The dungeons are not complete b. Some interiors have a overly saturated orange look (for example, the morgue picture) I love Enchanced Light FX because a. the way that the light works with the window b. the fact that the dungeons are complete However I dislike ELFX because a. the brightness in some interiors ( i call it the moonlight effect) is too bright. (example:Interior of Windhelm Inn) b. the dungeons are very dark. Its really a toss up at this point. If RLO finishes the dungeons and reduces the over-saturated orange, they would defiantly be a front contender. On the other hand, If ELFX fixes the overly bright moonlight effect, they would also be in the front contender. Hmm, its really a matter of opinion but, we need to analyze both these mods and see which one actually benefits the vision of STEP.
  11. @phazer11 I am currently using the 4.0.7 Version. BTW, what exactly is the release candidate version? Is it the weather version that you are speaking off or a beta version that I missed somehow?
  12. Welcome Step Members and Guest alike, I wanted to start the conversation for the future post processing packs which will include the lighting mods. I know this will be one of the most opinionated topics as every individual has their own style that they enjoy. As a result, I have taken a couple of screenshots on the most popular lighting mods on nexus which include RLO & ELFX UPDATE: By request from step members, I have included a couple ELFX Enhancer version. ENJOY Here are the screenshots below: Vanilla                                 ELFX                          RLO                (These Pictures have been taken with Skyrelaism ENB that only includes detailed shadows, It does not include any of the SSAO, DOF, etc effects) Vanilla                                    ELFX                                      ELFX Enchancer            RLO         https://i.imgur.com/VMXx642.jpg https://i.imgur.com/db4oM7b.jpg https://i.imgur.com/mnycOSu.jpg https://i.imgur.com/RiqlImH.jpg https://i.imgur.com/KiCQzUR.jpg https://i.imgur.com/LE3H468.jpg https://i.imgur.com/H8dWWqL.jpg  (These Pictures have been taken with Real Vision ENB that only includes detailed shadows, It does not include any of the SSAO, DOF, etc effects) Extra https://i.imgur.com/8hyrP43.jpg Enjoy and Let me know your thoughts on which one you think is best =-) If you would like me to finish the ELFX Enhancer version for the rest of the screenshots just ask. At the moment I have no plans to do them unless requested. Update: Added More Different Interior Screenshots If you want a certain lighting mod to be compared with these, let me know which one and give me the link.
  13. Would you like to be recognized as a contributing mod tester? I can do this if you plan on being around in the future and doing this sort of thing even if infrequently. It will be an honor to be a mod tester. At the moment I am reformatting my computer and getting my PC back to normal. Once I accomplish this task, I will than learn the functions of mod organizer, so I can make multiple profiles to make some proper screenshots. (example: Vanilla Profile, Step Profile, New Mod Profile) Give me some time to get this all set up, and Ill be back with force with more proper screenshots for vanilla, step, etc.
  14. Just wanted to update the situation. I recently contacted the author of mod organizer about this specific problem, and he stated that the current stable version 12.9 is not working properly in the save profile section. He recommended me to try the new beta version 0.99.6 which seems to have fixed all of the problems from the previous version. (including the save profile bug) So anyone having similar problems like myself, install the new beta version and see your problem disappear. Moderators, you may close this topic as solved. Thanks
  15. Hi, I am new to Mod Organizer, and I get the basic idea of how it works, But I think I am misunderstanding a feature. Profiles, in particular, in regard to saved games. When you select a profile, are the specific saved games assigned to each profile supposed to only show up in Skyrim? Let me illustrate: I created two profiles...    "Vanilla" , and "Project Skyrim" I selected Vanilla and played for a while.  I noticed after I played a while there were two characters, a Prisoner, and my character, Bowen, so I figured, "Ok, lets see how this works..." I turned on "Local Save Games" for both profiles, I used the Transfer saves feature to 'move' Bowen to the Vanilla profile, and Prisoner to the "Project Skyrim" profile. Now, when I am done, and I change the profile on the main window, the different save games show up under the Saves tab for their profile, as I thought it would work. Now, when I play Skyrim, There are no saved games. If I 'move' or 'copy' the profiles back to the "Global Characters" window, they show up, but unless they are there, they do not. Is this the intended behavior or did I screw this up someplace? It seemed that I would think it would auto select the saved games based on profile, and that manual moving to a global space wouldn't be required. Thanks!!!
  16. Alright thanks for the quick and simple answer. You may close this topic as solved. Thanks again.
  17. So just to clarify, I should leave the base BSA's alone, but extract all of the mod related bsa's, correct?
  18. Hey guys, I actually have a very simple question that I hope you guys can help me with. From all of my research in the forums regarding bsa, the majority have stated we should extract for the most part. Now my question is, does this also apply to the dawnguard.bsa, dragonborn.bsa, highrespack01-03.bsa also? Or should i leave those bsa alone? Thanks ahead of time for anyone that can help me with this.
  19. Phazer11, Looking forward to your screenshots for this mod. I know you will do an incredible job that will create some fully detailed shots. All I am hoping to do is to get this ball moving, and help the Step Community get one step closer to finalizing this huge texture pack.
  20. Thanks alot for the information Tech, Ill get on those textures either by tonight or tomorrow
  21. The Long Awaited Kitchen Clutter Is Here =) . Enjoy! Pots (textures\clutter\kitchen\castironpotmedium01.dds        textures\clutter\kitchen\castironpotmedium01_n.dds        textures\clutter\kitchen\castironpotsmall01.dds        textures\clutter\kitchen\castironpotsmall01_n.dds) Vanilla                                      Step                                         Langley          Vanilla                                      Step                                         Langley          Wooden Ladle (textures\clutter\kitchen\woodenladle01.dds                      textures\clutter\kitchen\woodenladle01_n.dds) Vanilla                                      Step                                         Langley         OMG I love Langleys spoon heh UPDATE:BONUS Rugs (textures\clutter\common\rug01.dds) Vanilla                                      Step                                         Langley          Smelter ( textures\clutter\smelter\smelter01.dds              textures\clutter\smelter\smelter01_n.dds ) Vanilla & Step                           Langley          Also, let me know what you guys think about the comparisons. I personally would like to add the ladle (spoon) and bloody rags guaranteed. Still undecided on the other textures. Personal Note: Surprisingly I am almost done with the clutter & furniture pack =) Also, I must say that Langley does indeed change his textures to something more decorative like phazer stated before me. Not sure if Step is willing to consider this in their decision or if its all about enhancing the vanilla look. Personal Request: Can anyone help me figure out what these dds mean textures\clutter\bookflats01.dds textures\clutter\gold01.dds textures\clutter\goldtrim01.dds textures\clutter\common\iron01.dds Thanks
  22. The reasoning why the walls haven't been used with Langley's texture, is because I am currently testing only the clutter & furniture pack. Having all of the packs in Langley's would be too much at the moment, so I am taking it slow by doing the packs one by one, instead of doing them all at once. I guess, you can say that the screenshots for the first couple will be specific to the furniture & clutter pack only. In addition, Langley himself stated that we should not install all of his packs, but instead pick and choose the textures that we enjoy. I am hoping to do justice by that statement by doing comparison shots for specific items that the community can decide whether or not it should be accepted or denied.
  23. Ladies & Gentleman, Here are some more comparison shots for Langleys Furniture & Clutter Pack. Enjoy ! Linen (textures\clutter\ruins\ruinslinen01.dds & textures\clutter\ruins\ruinslinen01_n.dds &          textures\clutter\ruins\ruinslinen02.dds & textures\clutter\ruins\ruinslinen02_n.dds) Vanilla                         Step                                      Langley        Bloody Rag (textures\clutter\bloodyrags\bloodyrags.dds & textures\clutter\bloodyrags\bloodyrags_n.dds) Vanilla                                     Step                                      Langley         Display Case (textures\clutter\displaycase.dds & textures\clutter\displaycase_m.dds & textures\clutter\displaycase_n.dds) Vanilla                                   Step                                        Langley                My Opinion: I would like to propose the removal of Steps current mod called Smudged glass.                  By looking at the display case comparison shots, one can clearly see that the background does not match the vanilla background.                  In addition, the vanilla version in my opinion looks alot better, while langley just seems out of place. Personal Note: I will be adding a good amount of new comparison shots in the clutter & furniture pack tomorrow afternoon, so get ready for some new pics. Anyway, Have a great night.
  24. Much appreciated =)
  25. Thanks for the compliment phazer11. Ill defiantly check out the link and see your hard work in this brutal field of comparison testing =)
