  1. Where does STEP recommend 50% distance? Â You should only be moving it down from max if your performance is too low.Ill copy the instructions from STEP 2.2 Click on the [View Distance] tab. Make sure Object Detail Fade is unchecked and tweak the view distances by adjusting grass to 100% with all other settings around 50%.
  2. Hey guys, Just wanted to update my statues on my current situation. It seems Enhanced Vanilla ENB will no longer be supported and the author is now endorsing Skyrealism as a better version of his. As I was intrigued, I tried out skyrealism vanilla enb, which now supports 119, and realized the shadow pop ins and land pop ins that I had before disappeared completely. However, the trade in was that my fps dropped from 60 to 40-50 range after installing this new enb with ssao/depth of field off. I am now very satisfied with the results, as my main purpose of using enb in the first place was for the shadow fix and the support of project parallax. PS: I also maxed out all the view distance in skyrim launcher instead of the 50% that STEP recommends. (maybe this could have been the problem for the land pop ins? Not sure)
  3. Thank you very much neovalen for checking it out. Well I guess my only option is to wait for an update for the enb mods to be updated to the latest version and hope for a fix. Its weird, I swear I hadnt had this much shadow problem before this version. Dont get me wrong, the shadow bug with striping has been fixed, but these shadow popping really break the immersion for me while playing the game.
  4. Yes it was taken outside of whiterun, I just want some definitive answer whether or not the problem is related to the 113 enb itself or just the enhanced vanilla enb. So if anyone out there has countervibe or project enb installed, can you tell me if you have the same issue of shadow popping like i do? Thanks
  5. I just want some clarification, is anyone else getting this shadow pop in Countervibe/project? Or is this shadow pop in bug only related to Enchanced Vanilla Enb. Any help will be appreciated
  6. Well I tried ENB version 119 and it has indeed removed the shadow popping bug that is shown with enb 113. Now I am curious whether or not enhanced vanilla enb is compatible with this version. PS: Considering Enhanced vanilla enb only tweaks a couple things and doesnt change the vanilla graphics at all, is it safe to assume that I dont need to install the darker grass and other enb specific mods?

  8. Well thanks for the suggestion, although non of the options on the troubleshooting guide helped or fixed my specific problem. However, after some extensive research regarding this topic. I have found that I am not the only one with this specific problem. It seems the problem for shadows popping up is related to the latest enb of 113. When i turned off the enb, the problem with the shadow popping up disappeared completely. At this point my question is: Is it possible to use an older version of an enb? like .102 for vanilla enhanced enb? It seems this specific version does not have the shadow popping problem. Or if that isnt possible, could i use the new version of 119 to see if that fixed the problem?
  9. When playing Skyrim, I am getting land distance pop ins and also shadows popping in after i walk a couple feet toward anything. (example walking toward the whiterun stables from the nearby gate adds shadows to the fence and building the closer i get.) Also in the distant mountains outside of whiterun, I am getting flickering shadows while moving in the mountain area. I am trying my best to figure out the problem, but no solution that I have done seems to have worked. I am using the vanilla enb, followed the step guide by the letter and only installed up to the texture pack combiner. Any help from the community or the Step team would have my thanks. PS: Shadow is on High
  10. Thanks for the info frihyland, Just wanted to Update my situation with people who had similar problems. The mod is working perfectly fine, I went to Deus Mons and everything seemed to be working as ordered. I guess the Wrye Bash error can be ignored as it does not in any way mess up your mods or Deus Mons. So everyone who had similar problems, install the mod and ignore the error. PS:My wrye bash is already updated to the latest version of 296 SVN and Deus Mons seems to be updated to the latest 1.5.26 version also. So I am clueless why this error still appears, I am guessing this is one of the few bugs (or many) of the new version of wrye bash.

Every time I activate the mod from the installer, I keep getting this error: "Warning:Corrupt/Unrecognized Files" Unrecognized Versions Deus Mons.esm If anyone can help me out with this problem, I would be very grateful.

  14. Dear STEP community, I have some questions regarding DDSopt and would like some help. My first question is: Does DDSopt in any way reduce texture quality or does it only improve my vram usage? Second question: After following the DDSopt guide step by step, will the three archives that I installed in wrye bash overwrite the BSA textures that I DDSopted? or do I need to delete the BSA files in the data folder after I finished installing the three archives? Third and final question: If DDSopt does indeed reduce texture quality, does the DDSopt guide on the wiki already implement the option to not reduce the quality but still increase my vram usage? Any help will be much appreciated

  16. So as i followed the step guide, I got stuck on this specific mod. He only has the option to use this with NMM and Wryebash doesn't have that option. How am I suppose to install this mod? Also, is there any way to make wrye bash install NMM type of installers?
  17. I was just recently asked this question and gave this brief explanation. As I currently work for a marketing team in the industry, I can give you an in-depth reason why publishers/developers go for the console route. However, as I am limited in time, ill give you the short version. The most obvious reason why developers/publishers go for consoles is profit. Last year alone, 85-90% of all video game related profits came from consoles/handheld. While the PC profit (including digital downloads came around 5-8% with the remaining coming from smart phones. By just looking at these numbers, any individual can clearly see where the profits is being made. Second reason why developers/publishers lean toward the consoles is Piracy. Piracy has become a massive problem for the PC market and is one of the main reasons it is not doing well anymore. While it is true that console games can be pirated, the PC is by far the easiest platform to do this. It is also very difficult to catch people illegally downloading software. Third, and this by far is the most important in my field is: INVESTORS. This is a little complicated to explain with my current time, but without their money most developers cant make a half a million title. (just to clarify, this is a brief description of one of the many reasons why developers/publishers go for the console route rather than PC) On a Personal Note: No I Do Not Believe PC Gaming Is Dying. I believe PC gaming is getting more specialized in specific genres. Examples: MMORPG, RTS, WRPG, and etc

  19. Dear Moderators, Any chance we can delete this topic? The fact that the mod itself is no longer present, I strongly suggest that we clean up the threads by eliminating topics that will not benefit the project.
  20. Been looking at the companion category and would like to recommend three must have mods. 1. UFO 2. Followers Relax 3. Followers Trap Safety Everything else in that category is already in UFO or adds a new companion/beauty mods.
  21. Breaking News, War In Skyrim has been discontinued. The author Alex, recently deleted his account including his mod and stated to me in a PM stating "I no longer have the passion to continue modding. One of the main reasons I continued War in Skyrim was finish the project and move on. However, with my team leaving me, negative feedback from the community, and my passion of modding no longer present, I have decided to quit." A sad day indeed for skyrim modders, we have truly lost a gem of a mod.
