  1. As the title says, very frequently when loading an interior I get the normal loading screen followed by a 2-3 second fade to pitch black and then it hangs there with the background music taking up 25% CPU usage until I kill the process.  Thankfully the auto-save kicks in before the crash so I can resume right where I left off, but it's still pretty annoying.  I'm running STEP, a few other graphics mods, Skyrim Monster Mod, EFF, Apocalypse Spell Package, Automatic Variants, Economics of Skyrim and ACE Skills Overhaul, along with the Z-fighting INI tweaks.  I've run the setup through BOSS and made a Bashed Patch (oddly enough only Perfect Legionnaire was flagged to be merged).  I'll do some more extensive testing tomorrow but disabling all but STEP + the texture mods didn't seem to fix it, any ideas as to what might cause this or better testing methods than going mod-by-mod?
  2. I hate that about Nexus... too often good mods simply disappear for no good reason or the author did one thing wrong and pissed off an admin. They're way too heavy-handed sometimes.
  3. Ah, so the path RCRN Customizer uses is absolute? That's almost as annoying as the fact that it has to be "installed" and you can't just unpack a standalone EXE.
  4. Or the next post down point to this mod.
  5. I'm in LA so the rules are a bit more strict but that hasn't stopped a very loud bang followed by sirens at least every 20 minutes. We haven't let any of the animal's outside today lest they go apeshit from the noise.
  6. Awesome to hear! Â I guess I'll hold out until that's all figured out and 8.0 is finalized. Â Glad to hear it's getting a lot easier to deal with.
  7. On the subject of Texture Optimizer, what are the "best" settings to use for quality-preservation? By this I mean which compression setting loses the least amount of quality?  I'd like to get my files as small as possible without any noticeable loss in quality but I'm far too lazy to go through DDSopt.  Not only is this true for me, but I'd like to know a brief rationale for the various settings so I can help others if the question pops up. Â
  8. A lot of the textures look really good, but some of them could use some fine-tuning, especially to bring out the details. Â I particularly like this mod because they really bring out the cloth's texture, but that's based on a comparison with Vanilla. Â We'll need to see some side-by-side shots with 2X Clothing Remix to really see the differences. Â If there's enough interest I can go through and do this, but it'll take a while to get through them all. Outfits added by this mod not in 2X: emperoryarlOutfits added by 2X not in this mod: most shoes, hats, and other accessoriesa lot of normal maps, in fact this mod doesn't add any new mapsblacksmithcheffarmclothes02jesterminerclothesmonk (except bluevariant)necromancerprisonerpsiijicreguard (unless you use the optional)robemythicdawnsheogorathwarlockweddingdressExecutionhoodMournersclothesSo as Fri said, 2X Clothing Remix would need to be installed prior to this mod for best results. Â Another issue with compatibility between them is how the normals from 2X will appear given the textures from this mod.
  9. Cause that's not gonna get really old really quick around here, lol.
  10. Gotta love makin' a damned fool out of myself as usual! Â
  11. The purple chains is probably SMIM's optional 3D chain things. Re-install that, including the 3D chains, and see if that fixes it. As for the low-res wood, I'm not entirely sure. It's probably not an optimizer but rather one of the HD textures not being installed correctly. Unfortunately I'm not sure which texture is used on those objects, but if you can figure that out then we can narrow down which mods might replace it.
  12. He already said he was using the compatible version...
  13. Torminater is saying that he's using a backed up 1.5 version of Skyrim (and thus a 1.5 version of TESV.exe), so the version numbers should check out between the two unless you let Steam get a hold of it and partially update.
  14. That is pretty weird! I'd have thought the archived versions were in their original state, perhaps it's worth a dig through the source code to see if it was on purpose?
  15. Take a look at this post, under the spoiler tag are detailed instructions on how to remove everything "non-Vanilla". Â After you have a fresh installation I'd recommend utilizing Wyre Bash for your next run at STEP (you can find our WB guide here). Â It's interface is fairly complex, but if you're willing to take a few hours and learn how it works, it can help prevent most problems with mod conflicts. Â Also I'd have to recommend Mod Organizer, which keeps all your mods separate and uses a virtual folder structure so that mods aren't overwriting each other. Â This makes it very simple to remove or update mods without having to worry about other mods. Â Both of these programs can work together, along with BOSS, to pretty much eliminate any problems caused by using multiple mods. Â
  16. Right... eww... forgot about the beginning of the conversation. Â Now I need an hour long shower in mouthwash.
  17. My bad, it was just sitting there all delicious looking
  18. I just saw all these posts for the first time... hu-whaa!?
  19. That's probably Dynavision - Dynamic Depth of Field, try disabling it.
  20. Very cool, will download.
  21. If that's the case then make sure the other files in RCRN's Data folder aren't in both locations. I just re-installed RCRN and I noticed this as well. I hate how MO can't handle mods outside the Data folder :(
  22. I believe that's SMIM missing a texture, try re-installing it.
