GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
Nozzer66 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
If I get a chance this weekend I'll have a look at a megapatch for IMPACT. Things should be quieting down this week after all the insanity... -

I'll be leaving the M24A1 where it is, so please don't make that a must do, thanks. -
I need some help stabilizing my mods
Nozzer66 replied to natranr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yep. Especially if they have anything to do with levelled lists, etc. -
Hmmm... Though it is a Greatsword and they don't mess around damage wise. Was it a honed one? You can get those from Bleak Falls if I recall.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback

It's Trudy's ex-husbands? That's a possible. Though I do get maybe it might be better off being inside somewhere. -
No need to be sorry. :) Just that it may be easier to get an answer. Though Perma does a limited amount of de-levelling, so it may well just be a complete fluke once off too.

I'm happy with the M24E1 mod being where it is. It needs a little work to get the skill to pick the lock as it is. -
You may be better off taking queries like that to the Perma Page itself...

Apparently ENB can screw the GECK up...

pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim
Nozzer66 replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
With Moon and Star is tend to unpack the BSA and then just hide the conflicting files. Either way works I guess. -
Watching this thread cause I am intending on doing something FO3 related with the GECK too...

I loathe torrents as well, worry not. What I did with that one Torrent was grab it ONCE, remove all the torrent client crap and keep the downloaded archive in a nice safe place in a thumb drive. That's after I gave my computer a through disinfection, ebola check and detox shower...

Trust me, after a while playing, you'll be glad you put RS Children in. Looking at the default children made me want to slap a Bethesda dev around with a sledgehammer...

Wrye Bash - What to do with the bashed patch once created
Nozzer66 replied to Agramar's question in Wrye Bash Support
1) Yes. The Bashed Patch should be in the Overwrite directory. Right click on that and create Mod. call it Profile Name Bashed Patch or something like that. 2) Essentially, yes you're right. It's a patch that fixes things like levelled lists so you dont run into a bandit at level 1 for example, who's dressed in full armour and wielding a magic weapon... It helps with the 255 Threshold, because there are some plugins that WHOLLY roll into the Bashed Patch. You'll probably notice in Wrye Bash that there are some plugins that are not ticked/selected. They are those that have been merged fully into the patch. 3) No, because they all need to see a full list of mods for their java proccers to be able to make their actual mod esp files. 4) If you create another profile in MO for Skyrim, and copy an old one over, yes it will have the same bashed patch. However, you should remake it if/when you change the mods in that profile. You essentially have 2 different bashed patches. You'd give it a different name like ThisProfile Bashed Patch versus ThatProfile Bashed Patch, etc. 5) Yes, IF the mod is something that has a plugin. Many mods that are just some texture replacers don't have an ESP, and you wont need to remake the patch. The bashed patch should be close to last, with the exception of anything made via a java proccer, like Dual Sheath for example. -
what is STEP:Extended exactly?
Nozzer66 replied to FreeMortal's question in General Skyrim LE Support
There's 2 ways you can do it. 1) Change the names on all the components to just 'aMidianBorn' using the rename option and install all the components into one mod using the 'Merge' option. 2) Again using rename, do what you're doing and install each module/option separately. That's usually how I do it so it's easier to drill down on things if there's an issue. Keep punching, sounds like you have an analytical sort of mind and are happy to work it out via your own trials :) -
The only issue I've had with Perma so far is with the College entrance. You'll get asked to cast a spell on the symbol. (in my case it was Firebolt). It was a spell I already had, bought from Farengar early on, but it didn't work for the symbol. I had to buy the spell again from Feralda. Similar issue with the wards. I had the vanilla ward spell, and the Perma Spell Ward spell, but the Perma spell didn't work for the situation where Tolfdir tosses a spell at you. I didn't stress about it cause I'm only doing that much so I can get into Saarthal to finish another quest line. Seems I'm not alone as a few others have mentioned it on the Perma page.

Yep, do what Neo says. When you do that you remove the esp from the right pane so it wont sit there unchecked. Tidies things up some. When you mouse over the merged esp, it should give you a list of what's merged in it anyway.

If you need to run ENBhost.exe as admin, (or anything else for that matter) just find it in the Skyrim folder, right click on it and use the Properties option. There should be a clickable box for 'Run as Administrator' on the Security tab. But yes, having Steam games in the program files (x86) folder mentioned above by FreeMortal is not always a smart option, either.

That script is the one you want. On Neovalen's SRLE page there's actually a link to that under Tool Addons. Maybe you missed it first time? As for LOOT vs BOSS, Neovalen's guide uses BOSS, not LOOT, cause I believe he personally prefers the use of BOSS. He'll likely pop in and clarify that though. He's usually on quite often.
