I just participated in the Battle for Solitude and that stupid music was playing the entire time even during the cutscene conversations...it was annoying. I think I'll download this mod. By the looks of it, it's just sound files so no esp's needed.

Skyrim Riddle: Do you know the answer?
Kuldebar replied to Glanzer's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I've had this happen before: the weird spawn point, as you surmised usually due to pathing/crowding issues. To resolve it, I save the game, then reload, this usually fixes everything as the data is reloaded. This fixes glitches like the occasional floating utensil or other items in crowded interiors that can sometimes occur. -
Save Profiles Not Showing Save Files After Updating to v1.1.2
Kuldebar replied to UlithiumDragon's question in Mod Organizer Support
Save file management in MO is a rats nest, I learned not to mess with it. I thought it would be a good idea to have MO manage my saves per profile...but that led to some scary times trying to find missing saves, etc. -

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Kuldebar replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Phinix (Phinix ENB) has stopped hosting that utility it looks like, I think he is either taking a break from the game or has retired the utility because Boris has changed a lot of stuff regarding memory settings. Some of the rules have changed. -
Octo: I will make the safe assumption that you are a Mod Organizer user. Run the game from Steam Launcher, it should be a pristine as it was from the first day you installed the game: Only Bethesda provided files and DLC's. (Now, you have SKSE/Sheson Related and ENB related files installed, for now, let's hope you haven't fouled up something in regards to those files and settings) For purposes of being methodical, you may need to pull all those as well, then carefully install them for specific testing. What are your repeatable results running the game normally and under stress from the Steam Launcher?

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Kuldebar replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
@Keith: Very interesting albeit plodding progress on the information front, eh?ENB Gui reports the value of 4800 for VideoMemorySizeMb when AutodetectVideoMemorySize is set to True while DXDiag reports 4095 for Total Video Memory for my GPU.I usually split the different somewhat by using 3968...no idea if it matters performance-wise. The difference it appears is in how much system ram you have compared to me. Your 32 versus my 8. -
CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Kuldebar replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I completely missed that remark! If I had seen it I would have been all over that. It completely jives with my own experience in regard to that setting and my system. That's why the advice that had been given in some of the guides to set it "low" like 64 seemed to fly in the face of my own experience with the setting. On the other hand, the last piece of information: This causes me too freeze frame/slideshow in cities when I have it set to my Physical/Chip VRAM 1GB. Now if I set it at 3968 which is slightly lower than the DXDiag reported Total Vram of 4095, everything is smooth for me. -
SKYRIMLE Travel Mounts - for fast travel by Manaflow
Kuldebar replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Mods have a way getting merge patches for desired functionality. Also, this forum is bigger than just STEP Core because the STEP philosophy carries over into different mod packs & so forth that cater to different styles of game play as it continually evolves. -
SKYRIMLE Warburgs Detailed Paper World Map (by Warburg)
Kuldebar replied to Besidilo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Well, since Warburg's has to be load last, mod I tried to disable Fast Travel wouldn't work correctly because Warburg's edits the related record last. Sometimes fast travel would be correctly disabled but a blank pop up window on the map would come up on clicking... I have since just started using Quality World Maps (not classic) with roads. -
Curiously, Keith, my FPS went into the teens (from my average mid-twenties inside Whiterun) with those settings, weird, eh? I notice that your shadow distance is a lot higher but shadow resolution quality is far less than my 2048...so I guess I am making a different trade off than you are in my custom ini settings for shadows. I find that using lower res texture packs (like 2k) but parallaxed is a good combination for good looks and reasonable performance dings. At present I am using primarily HD DLC Textures with their PPR counterpart. My VRAM usage and strain on my 1GB GPU is much alleviated. Instead of popping into the high 900's, I generally stay around 700 or so. Breathing room is nice. SMIM eats some of my performance gains up, but the trade off is worth it, imo. And, to be honest (for me) it's better that the outside textures load quickly will little to no "popping" than it is to have them super high resolution. The parallax effect adds so much to humble textures and a good ENB preset brings it all to life.. I go crazy with textures for dungeon and caves though, performance and VRAM issues just don't crop up for inside interiors.

You would only use this utility if: A. Upgraded/updated script related mods in an active game and they didn't update cleanly, leaving orphaned scripts B. Discovered a gawdawful mod that is wreaking havoc and you want to purge it entirely from your game C. Have an old game where resetting havoc related formID's might substantially save you load times and cut back file size.

SKYRIMLE Travel Mounts - for fast travel by Manaflow
Kuldebar replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Then why even mod, lol? Just like the weight capacity situation: Sure, I could just refrain from carrying over X amount, or I could install a mod that enforces the limitations that I want in my game. It's entirely too subjective of a topic, but for people who have similar tastes in travel systems will appreciate what this mod does. Fast Travel is for carriages and horses, seems like a combination that would work well for many players considering how popular the carriage mods are...they want to have a willing suspension of disbelief to bolster their game experience. But, again, this is highly subjective and there is absolutely no accounting for taste. (de gustibus non est disputandum -Literally, “It must not be argued about taste.†source) It can't be tested or graded because it's a matter of individual likes and dislikes. -
Yeah, I started playing more "in-character" myself and I no longer grab every single thing in dungeon runs. My character, who is strapped for cash usually in the first 10-15 levels grabs high priced items but not every scrap as I used to tend to do. It also helps me not to use the Pouch/Bandolier add-ons that often could gave me some ridiculous weight capacity increases.

Very impressed with this utility! If I had any criticism it would be taht when you select fix script instances button, you don't really know what got "fixed" . As far as I can tell, there's no log or text file showing what is done.

pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim
Kuldebar replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
All this time, I had used BFT and ran past that weird out of place wall! :) So, if I install BFT again, do I use the esp I'll read the guide :p OK, I'm missing Dawn of Windhelm...that's usually in the REGs Cities I thought? I just copied over the previous REGs ESP. I admit, I'm happy to have BFT Carriages back! Thank you CJ! All's right with the world! :) -
SKYRIMLE Travel Mounts - for fast travel by Manaflow
Kuldebar replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
No, I could not "easily" do what this awesome mod does. Fast Travel is disabled to areas you have never visited and only available while mounted on a horse after you have ridden a certain distance. It's seamless integration into the game's vanilla system, it makes owning a horse have a purpose. -
SKYRIMLE Warburgs Detailed Paper World Map (by Warburg)
Kuldebar replied to Besidilo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I love this map mod but it doesn't play well with any mods that affect Fast Travel. -
What my RAM, and VRAM mean for STEP, ENB, and modding?
Kuldebar replied to lelouch_luffy's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Having 1 GB VRAM isn't as big of a handicap as some folks make it out to be. Yes, now in 2014, versus when Skyrim was released, having more than 1 GB VRAM is considered ideal. This was not the case three years ago, at that time over 1 GB was expensive for most people and not that common place. I use Radeon/AMD GPU's so I really can't say anything about nVidia but my HD6850 does a heavily modded (180+) and textured and High Quality ENB Preset just fine. I take advantage of the ENBoost and Sheson's Memory Patch (SSME) so problems I had in the past no longer occur. -
pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim
Kuldebar replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
...Riverwood and outside Whiterun... Well that's a traditionally problematic area since the game came out, but it's been largely tamed with enboost and Sheson's memory patch variants. I'm not sure what the Mod Combiner brings to the table, seems like it could over-complicate things, but that's just my passing opinion. I just carefully order texture packs so the ones I want have priority over others, also you can use the "hide" feature in MO to hide textures or meshes you don't want. I run with 1 GB of VRAM, usually hover around `700 MB used in open country around Riverwood (with ETAC) and Whioterun (with ETAC). This play through, I am running HD Vanilla with Parallax, I use Higher-Res textures for interiors like dungeons and caves, etc. Because Windhelm Vanilla sucks so much, I do use parallaxed SRO optimized for that city. -
Sounds like you are testing for memory issues but bad mod issues...scripts, navmesh collisions, bad meshes are a bit harder to nail down when flitting about the world space.

SKYRIMLE Travel Mounts - for fast travel by Manaflow
Kuldebar replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I see it as a reasonable compromise. Your argument would apply to default carriage travel as well. It's not even as simple as that, you have to mod it so the box doesn't pop up on world map when you click it. With Travel Mounts, I can only travel fast to a destination if I am on a horse or use a carriage, no exceptions. This is far more realistic compared to the fast travel only by carriage option. And, as far as realism goes, we all have to decide for ourselves what is immersive versus tedious. I could run a mod where my character could only carry up to 65-75 pounds (a close max pack weight in real life) but that would seriously suck, in my opinion. -
Laast can be somewhat an anti-ENB/Lighting Mod Luddite. His Pure Water Mod, while excellent also has enb/fog related issues. I just got finished yanking CoT and all the CoT Weather Patches from my new game config, I'd be reluctant to add another mod that does the same thing. CoT is great, but if I use it it restricts me from trying new ENBs that don't play well with CoT stuff.
