1. The textures changed are: /effects/fxwhitewater01.dds /effects/fxwhitewater02.dds /water/creek.dds /water/defaultwater.dds /water/genericwaternoise.dds /water/lake.dds /water/ocean.dds /water/river.dds
2. @Farlo, It may sound mean, but we should probably put up a note somewhere to not ask for troubleshooting when using 2.2.1 because it is not ready for beta testing. I lot of people have been going ahead and using it then posting problems which is taking up a lot of time. Guess I could just start ignoring the posts...but again, that's kinda mean too.
3. The first two tabs are up and completed. :) The good stuff is yet to come.
4. I'm having no issues so it must be a change to Mod Testers as I noticed a color change for you guys as well.
5. Sounds like the author needs to update his page then if there are no issues there because he states all those thing I mention in the Compatibility section of his page: I stated RCRN myself because of the volumetric fog in RCRN.
6. A random CTD that can't be reproduced by doing the exact same thing sounds to me like a script, software or hardware instability. However, if it only happens when riding in a cart while traveling then it could be a mod issue. Could you give us a run-down of you system hardware and include any information about components that are overclocked as well. For starters, if you don't fast travel try disabling the fast travel mod you have install and see if that is the issue since it has something to do with traveling. If you can't pin-point the issues I would start ruling it out from being a mod by stripping my install down to STEP only mods then enable the additional mods a few at a time, test, and repeat. If the issue disappears with STEP only mods then you know it's a mod issue. If it doesn't then we can move on to settings, INIs, hardware, etc.
7. Looks absolutely amazing but I wouldn't say 10 FPS is playable. Maintaining a minimum of around 30 FPS is the goal of a successful STEP. The normal human eye starts to notice individual frames at anything lower than 20 FPS. Some eyes are keener and will need higher frame rates to not notice individual frames flickering.
8. From reading the mod page, it has too many issues especially with the most popular lighting mods, CoT and RCRN, as well as other lighting mods. Also has issues with any fog/weather related mods. That are some big issues and he's trying to get those mod author's to make their mods compatible with Pure Water, when it seems like it should be the other way around. The author also states that he's in talks with CoT author to make it compatible, but the CoT page says that there will be no more updates for CoT unless it's to make it compatible with DLC content. Too many if's. However, the mod itself looks pretty darn good.
9. Wow...looks like you've pretty much maxed everything I seen at first glace out. I don't know about removing anything. I'm have jumped into the INI settings that much. How's your game running?
10. I have 1GB as well and use the Med Res just for the sake of monitoring my VRAM usage. I haven't really notice that much of a difference in using it over the full version. Of course, I don't typically pay too much attention to the water in the first place besides a quick glance when running pass a river. EDIT: The Med Res only changes 8 of the included textures.
11. Please use spoiler tags for long posts.
Blah Blah Blah
@Admins,I noticed your "Call for Forum Moderators" on the Guide. If you guys need some help moderating the forums just say the word. I'll be happy to be Wiki Editor/Forum Moderator since most of my talent is in content and mod comparisons.
12. Oh, I'm using .119 because of the changes made in .139 aren't compatible until the author's themselves update the files. EDIT: I did a bit of research and apparently changing the wait render in the ENB to true will fix most if not all the issues with the NVIDIA drivers, but it also comes with a performance hit.
13. You guys are really having issues with ENB and 310.xx drivers? Maybe it's different for me because I'm on a mobile edition of the drivers but I'm running 310.90 and haven't had an issue with them and ENB. What are the specific issues so I can check?
14. This guide needs a serious overhaul so I'll be doing that over the next few days.
15. NVIDIA Inspector Guide Thread This thread is for discussion and improvement of NVIDIA Inspector guide on the wiki. NVIDIA Inspector is a tool that displays hardware information about NVIDIA graphic cards, monitors the hardware senors in real-time with logging capabilities, provides overclocking tools, and provides video game profiles which are used when a game loads.
16. Who uses over 4GB of system RAM when gaming? :P If they do, I'd say they need to start closing some programs before running the game. Currently I have 2 explorer windows open, Windows Mail, Firefox with 9 tabs, Wrye Bash, Photoshop, FRAPS, MS Security Essentials, NetWorx, and Task Manager open and am only using 2.5GB of system RAM. (yeah, I multitask) I just opened and minimized the game as well and now I'm still only using 3.4GB. 4GB of system RAM should be plenty.
17. You're right. Nothing not to like. Vurt, your work is amazing! PS...I do believe you're missing or changed your rock texture as well in those last comparisons, Z.
18. Yep. You just need to reference the enbseries.ini that comes with 0.139 and add/subtract the diff to SkyRealism version (but keeping the SkyRealism values). It looks like some of the SR lens [CAMERAFX] settings need an update. I don't know that much about ENB settings but I notified MTichenor and he said he wasn't aware of all the changes and would look into updating SkyRealism if .139 proved stable.
19. I haven't noticed any issues with the 310.70 drivers (about to update to 310.90). What is suppose to be the issues there? All I know is that nVidia messed them up by making changes to the DirectX API DLL files and pipelines that make it impossible to use DLL injection techniques or something like that. I haven't had any issues that I've noticed... I posted a link to this forum on SkyRealism's thread over on Nexus. EDIT: Looks like MTichenor is going to look into .139 when he's got the time.
20. I've got a comparison for .119 vs .139. This test was completed with SkyRealism; Cinematic preset and RCRN; Classic preset enabled. EDIT: Information no longer valid.
21. You should have no issues using the Extreme baseline, though I'd use a mix of Baseline and Extreme. In other words, when you come to the textures you shouldn't have any issues using the 2048x resolutions for all mods. It also depends on your screen resolution though.
22. Those usually grow out of the edge of ponds and lakes; bodies of water that aren't moving so the seeds can take root instead of being swept away. Placing them about a foot into the water would be most accurate.
23. Only six tree textures conflict and that could easily be fixed by placing it higher in the load order than Trees HD. I like it.
