Upon a second review, I meant the 6th compare is the best. I'm curious to know how the HQLODs look installed with/over this (however it would be installed in STEP) if it wasn't already with the 6th shot.

Langley so far goes beyond simply HD enhancement by adding a different artistic style. It's not bad, but I'm not sure I like it. Undecided at this point. I've copied the compares to the OP.

The last shot in each compare looks the best to me (besides that snow). Nice compares, btw!

If it's present in a completely vanilla installation, I would bet that something is messed up in the vanilla files. Did you run any sort of optimization on the vanilla files? Or any files?

Thank you stepping up and doing this. I'm going to just be honest so please don't take it the wrong way, because I appreciate any help we can get while most of the team is MIA. Without the STEP compare in the mix the shots will basically be of no use. If you use MO, it's very easy to set up profiles for quick compares. This mod is a massive undertaking so no one has done it yet. It will likely be put on hold until all compares are posted.

Keep the ENB choices tab, but update with up-to-date ENB presets. I know MTich keeps SkyRealism fairly up to date and if he hasn't updated to the latest binary there is a reason. He's one of a few that has completely rewrote most of the ENB processing method so he's not just another preset author. In fact, he's highly respected in the ENB community. So keep SkyRealism up as a choice. I know that I kept Project ENB up because it was one that TC originally recommend way back when STEP was new to the community. True Vision was high up on my "best of realistic ENBs" list a good while back and is by the same author of Project ENB. Both have had fairly recent development too. (the new versions look quite good) The complimentary mods section is probably way outdated though. Since I stopped using ENB, there has been no one to keep it regularly updated. What if any body mods do you use?

I just don't see it, to be honest. From what I'm looking at the salmon retex looks closer to vanilla that our current one besides the spots. EDIT: I had to literally go google and read the differences between salmon and trout. Simply put, get rid of the spots on the retex and it'll be a HD Vanilla retex. However, the addition of the spots makes it more "trouty". Reduce the spots to be smaller and only on the upper 1/3 of the body or get rid of them altogether and you'd have 100% salmon. After reading about it there aren't many differences between a salmon and a trout. At any rate, Pond Fish mod needs to go and this one isn't a bad replacer. We can instruct users to delete the salmon textures or use a BCF for Wrye Bash users as we do for other mods.

They all look okay to me, but wouldn't mind seeing more compares than just the one scene. To be honest, I'm kinda worn out on testing this every few weeks. I'll leave this mod and thread in your hands, Z.

Upon Z's request, more screenshot will be gathered and poll reset. I'd like to get this one knocked out and finalized. Better Vanilla Hair is being held up on testing as it's dependent upon the outcome of this thread.

It's so similar that I can't tell much of a difference. Will have to have better shots.

Z may disagree but taking out the normal members, the majority of the STEP Team has voted for AOF (Core) and SLF - Rough (Extended). So unless the rest of the Team steps in to push the vote in another direction. The results will most likely stand. Thought you were taking a break? STEP is a vortex that keeps sucking us in!

I'd have to agree and yet disagree. I agree with the pond fish. They are fine in vanilla, albeit, a bit low res. However, I disagree in saying they are fine for Extended as the replacers do not have to stick to what vanilla pond fish look like. Hence how Pond Fish mod ever made it into STEP in the first place. As for salmon, it appears to me that the authors are simply using different species for their inspiration. Vanilla and this mod look like Steelhead and STEP's current mod (Food & Ingredients, i think) looks like Pink Salmon, but all still salmon. I still think this mod is closer to vanilla than what STEP is currently using as seen in the OP and wouldn't be a bad replacement for the current mod, Pond Fish.All MTs should be using Imgur to host there shots. This is the best service for STEP's purposes. If another service is used, please do not use the gallery/image function here on the forums. Instead, provide a link to the gallery hosted on your service. Thanks
