  1. I did update my settings due to this though. The STEP settings left me with shadow stripping. The High setting posted here is much better on my system.
  2. I cleaned it and didn't have any issues, but I didn't complete the entire mod either.
  3. No, I would say that mod is beyond STEP's scope.
  4. Yep. Everything seems to be working fine now. Could have been host issues with our server...but who knows?
  5. I've created the forum. Z will have to set up moderator permissions for you since I don't have the access to do that per forum. I'll start moving some of the topics into that forum.
  6. Thanks for your information. I've updated the ENB Guide to reflect.
  7. Even more interesting is that I couldn't load the forums on my computer, but can on tapatalk... Hopefully Z or s4n pops in.
  8. He said the game used up to 3.5GBs of RAM at one point and that doesn't include all of VRAM that was being used up as well. This means, the game is taking nearly all the system resources and only leave a few hundred MBs for the OS and other processes. A "swap file" or "page file" is "virtual RAM" that is created to hold files that would frequently be accessed by the game. This "virtual RAM" is actually just space on your hard drive. I'd expect that his swap file was at least 3GBs in size; as long as he wasn't limiting it to a smaller size. To check how much RAM the game is using, you can simply check it's process in Task Manager and see how much "Memory" the process is using. This is measured in KBs so you'll have to convert that to GBs. You can check a lot more in Resource Monitor. There you can check on just about everything the process is doing: CPU Usage, how many cores it's using, RAM usage, see what it's reading and writing from disk (swap file reads or loading new assets...constant high disk usage could indicate a lot of swap file use which is undesirable), and a ton of other things.
  9. Yes! I've brought this up a couple times to Staff but no response...
  10. Nah, I just purchased KOTOR 2...so I could occupy myself.
  11. I don't really see why that would have been a stretch. There's really nothing holding us back from doing it besides SRB's second pass with the Patches. Mod pages will need a few changes right before release, as well, but that's really it. The the majority of the mods that have been added have already been thoroughly tested on one of our three setups or recent new games.
  12. Within the first 2 mins of that video he says, "...as usual, if you have more RAM, then your system will use it". This is telling me the swap file is being used to store everything that RAM can't and things are getting swapped out far more often...meaning the hard drive is doing a lot more work. Exactly what Boris said. Since this guy didn't cover the swap file...we can't really know from that video yet. This might be be what was causing his "momentary frame drop" on the PC.
  13. Posting how much RAM you have doesn't really tell us anything. Include the RAM Windows is reporting the game is using. Also the current size of the swap file should be noted.
  14. I was hoping for this weekend, but looks like the guys aren't all rounded up today. Could be this coming week or weekend.
  15. Okay. I can set this up for you. Are you wanting sub-forums for each utility or leave it simpler and try out pinned topics for your main tools like they are now. This would eventually look very much like the Mod Organizer Support Forum. Or you can have just pinned topics without sub-forums. This would like the MO Support Forum without the sub-forums at the top. For the topic level we'll go with: Mator's Utilities Support Support for the utilities developed by Mator ( mteFunctions, Automation Tools, Merge Plugins, Mator Smash ). If you want sub-forums, I'll need to know the names and description for each.
  16. I've added a testing tag to the tread. Will probably not make it to testing this release.
  17. @Ess, What has been rolled into the Patches? Hearthfire Extended has a CRF patch. (i converted this patch to USLEEP for my own setup) Farmhouse Chimney has a CRF "addon". This we can either skip until it's updated or use Mator's xEdit script to convert the master to USLEEP. I did this for the Hearthfire Extended CRF Patch and it worked really well. Immersive Citizens has an ELE and CRF patch. Would like to clean up my load order correctly for testing, but you didn't say what's rolled into the patches.
  18. I agree that would be best until we can really test it out. I'm fine with the rest of the suggestions.
  19. An interesting note and discovery by Boris:
  20. Fair enough. I use FRAPS. iNumHWThreads=4 I can see this being controversial without any evidence to back it up on why we'd be recommending to change this parameter. Might I suggest a few runs with SPM to see if there is any noticeable difference before we recommend changing such things. I have a Core i5 that is not overclocked which I could test out, but I don't have SPM set up for testing this right now. I asked about performance because I can't tell any difference on my system. It's hard to benchmark some of these settings on a decent system. I could do this much better with my old laptop.
  21. Why disable the ability to take screenshots? iNumHWThreads=4 I didn't think Skyrim could use more that 4 cores nor could it use hyperthreading? Also, is that INI not set correctly when the launcher detects your hardware? What does adding water reflections do to performance?
  22. I like the first suggested name.
  23. I only recognized some of it due to having tested ELE winning all conflicts in my setup and some of the interiors not looking quite the same. Think I might have mentioned that when we were discussion a non-ELE version for more compatibility. I've been using the non-ELE version myself since you made them so I don't even remember the locations that looked different.
  24. There used to be a way to request your site to be refreshed, but I don't know if that is exists. This? https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6065812?hl=en Or this? https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1663691?hl=en
  25. Yeah...I have no idea where that pointed it. EDIT: I've updated it to my best guess.
