Mod Organizer 2 Discussion and Feedback
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's question in Mod Organizer Support
This is interesting: https://github.com/TanninOne/modorganizer/issues/365 MO is no longer managing BSAs as it has in the past and does currently. What does this mean for BSA management and MO now? I was never on top of this topic before so I'm uncertain what this means exactly. -
Mod Organizer 2 is now in alpha, which is the 64-bit version of MO featuring support for Fallout 4. Testers are welcome and encouraged! Download the Alpha here: https://github.com/TanninOne/modorganizer/releases This is not a bug report topic! Please report bugs to the GitHub issue tracker. Thought I'd start this thread for the discussion of MO2 instead of filling the Fallout Support topic with unrelated posts.

It's Russia. It's expected. Being a gay man myself, I have no hard feelings towards him or his country. I'm not saying it's right, but it's not my place to judge their culture and beliefs either. Let's get this topic back on track or take this discussion to the Banter forum.

OP updated with requirements for patches.

Odd. Everything seems to be in place. You shouldn't be having any issues with it. Can you report your exact selections and I'll test it on my end again?
-
Awesome sauce! Thanks for this! I'll update the mod page. Also, the other thread is here that we use specifically for STEP: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/7634-enhanced-lighting-for-enb-ele-lite-by-jawz/

Are all the mod plugin listed above checked in the right pane? Did you answer "yes" that you installed Realistic Ragdoll & Force? What version of MO are you using? Are you using the internal installer (you shouldn't see any messages about "external installer")? Are there any error messages at the bottom in the message pane?

Plugins. So if you've merged any of them, then that would be a reason it's not working. You also have to answer, "yes" that you did install Realistic Ragdoll & Force. I'll be testing this with a new STEP setup since I don't have FO4 and that's what most people will be using it for. Got to make sure all the usual stuff still works too. Issues... the issues are pouring in! I'm at a standstill until some issues are fixed. Most have been posted already.
-
If you can't install the Patch in the new installer, then you're missing something the Patch requires. The mod compilation is specifically set up for STEP and the FOMOD requires this to be installed at the end of the Guide. It's the only place for it. There shouldn't be any issues for mods that are specifically in STEP. As always, if you add mods on top of STEP, then you'll have to figure out what you need to do for your own setup.

Notice: As of STEP 2.2.8, we are only actively supporting Skyrim Legendayr Ed. (all DLCs) - We continue to 'passively' support other DLC/non-DLC configurations as an artifact of having done so previously. However, moving forward, all new content will assume Legendary Ed. We will gradually phase out information pertaining to limited DLC components. Overview: STEP 2.10.0 marks another step towards official STEP Pack support. However there is still much work to be done for STEP to be ready to make this transition. Because of this and there being no time frame for Pack development, we have decided to do incremental releases. v2.2.9.1 was the first. v2.2.9.2 was the second. These releases will mainly be mod releases, meaning that we'll mainly be testing and reviewing mods. With this release, we have also reviewed our version scheme. You will notice this change now in that the next release will be version 2.10.0. For more information on this visit the wiki page here. Since this is a community driven project and site, we would like to encourage users to tag mods they'd like to see in STEP. To do this, please add a 'testing' tag to the desired mods. This will allow us to filter the mods and review them. Mods that we think fit into the STEP project will be officially marked for testing and mods that do not will simply have the 'testing' tag removed. Dev Guide v2.10.0 Changelog (subject to developmental updates) Mods currently in Testing For replacers, the test case should be a high-quality screenshot compare. We don't need a lot, just two or three sets of compares on the thread marked [ TESTING ]. The idea is that testing --and logging of that activity on the threads-- will be touch & go for a lot of mods, and it should be pretty clear by anyone stumbling upon any mod thread what the end result is. Let us know if you want to be a Mod Tester! We're always looking for official testers! BUG REPORTS ONLY PLEASE! Please post any bugs or issues that you think may be related to this release on this thread. Those issues will be fixed, if possible, in the next STEP update. Progress on the next STEP release can be found in this forum. Make sure to check back often for updates! v2.2.9.2 Changelog (changes made since initial release)

It was a real chore keeping STEP updated on it. I do remember that. MO is a dream to update STEP and do all the testing with. I'm not saying one is better than the other. They both have their merits, but MO is perfectly suited for what STEP does.
-
When you get down to it, it's more powerful and gives you better control than NMM does. Most of the same things can be accomplished with WB too, but MO is better on several fronts than WB including: keeping the Data folder clean, easier to use and learn for new users, better development and support, more control over an entire modded setup, etc.

I'll be downloading and testing this tonight as well after we release. I took a break to get some dinner and chill for a bit.

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
TechAngel85 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
What the heck Microsoft...I just updated that link recently. Getting tired of this. It's getting as bad as the ENB Dev website was for a while. Updating links every week. -

It says in that post to replace the XX with your desired FOV value.

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
TechAngel85 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Antivirus set up to allow the ENB files to run? You should only have these files: d3d9.dll, enbhost.exe, and enblocal.ini. Antivirus should be set up to allow enbhost.exe. For DX related see here: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENB#CTD_on_game_launch -
Yes. It's finished and we're just finalizing it in the installer now.
-
It really only makes sense to add them if they are indeed persistent. If not, then it's sort of pointless.

Prepare Mod Textures for Optimization confusion
TechAngel85 replied to arutha's question in DDSopt Support
The DDSopt Guide has become less and less used since we've released our own STEP Optimized Textures files on Nexus. These files basically replaced the need to use DDSopt on the vanilla files so the only thing DDSopt is still used for is optimizing the actual mods in STEP...most of which are already optimized well. -
No idea. I personally always forget to set my FOV and usually end up playing at the default value without realizing it. I think it's more of a preference thing.

Nice! Glad you made that video. It shows just how easy it really is.
