Hello qotsafan, thanks for the update! And good to see you here too :) -
https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37487/ Just released. Does this even require any description? :)

Yeah, that's where I got the idea from. -

Another solution could be for the modders to include a book for example that the player would have to place in their inventory for the items to appear on the crafting list. If the book is not in your inventory, you don't see the items that the given mod provides. -

I am using all of those mods + SkyRe and I've had no problems so far. -
Poor performance with good system spec
rootsrat replied to rootsrat's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I revised my current build. This is what I'm on now: https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Rootsrat/My_Skyrim_Build (this is my base build, I add more profile-specific mods to this one). 385 mods, nearly all 255 esp slots taken. It's been pretty stable so far. I would get ocassional CTD, presumable to the amount of scripts running in the background? The crashes didn't happen very often anyway, sometimes I was able to play for a few good hours without a single crash, and sometimes - rarely though - it would crash after about an hour or so at the very least. I'm eager to play with new RAM installed to see if that's gonna help :) -
Poor performance with good system spec
rootsrat replied to rootsrat's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I can confirm that this was RAM issue. I purchased new RAM (Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB, 1600 9CL, really good reviews) and after doing some initial testing I can confirm the problems are gone. I ran the game on the same settings as previously and it was never running more smoothly! I then inreased grass & trees drawing distance and there was no performance loss. There is some minor stuttering, but nothing that breaks my game, I can live with that. I am so excited!  It's time to fine tune my texture mods and ini settings so that I can squeeze all the juices out of my machine! I am so close to getting the perfect Skyrim build I always wanted! -
I stand corrected then - I am not an expert on WB. But, AFAIK, it cannot do profiles, no? In terms of more advanced functionality it's definitely better, agree. This is one of the features I chose Mor Organizer for my mod manager. You don't have to worry about WHEN you install your mods, as you can simply move your installed mods in the list up or down and the relevant files get overwritten accordingly to mod position in the list. If you installed chests before SRO, you could just move Chests mod after SRO in the mod list in MO and SRO textures would get overwritten. If you fiddle with your mods often and test new stuff all the time, MO is the way to go! The beauty of virtual Data folder :) Well I use Wrye Bash, and unless I'm mistaken, WB allows you to do the exact same thing. All I did was move those two mods below in the install order, click "anneal all" and that was that. Exactly. I don't think that there is anything MO does that WB cannot do (it is the other way around, really). MO just has a 'friendlier' user interface.

Player homes are against mandate so it's not likely they'd ever officially be in STEP. However, I've tried several out myself and have been turned off by them. They tend to very easily conflict with other mods and one made my game so unstable that it wouldn't even load. Thus, I haven't tried out any in quite some time. However, I quite like the look and feel of this one. It actually feels "homey" from the video and has a lot of great features. Yeah, that doesn't mean they cannot be suggested in Mood Suggestions forum. There are tons of mods that don't fit STEP mandate in here, and yet not so many of them are player homes - that's what I meant. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
rootsrat replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
So that technically means that Skyrim Revisited is officially completed, i.e. v1.0 :) And I remember you saying not so long ago that you'll never finish it! Congratulations, Neo, on completing work on this excellent guide, I'm sure it was a strong point to learn more in depth about modding for many of us. Great work, it is much appreciated! Now, on to SR:LE! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD -

Replacement for Realistic Crime Radius?
rootsrat replied to Zarggg's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I also changed my timescale to 8, to slow time in game. 8 means that 1 minute of real time = 8 minutes of game time. Default Skyrim timescale is 20, which makes the day and night rotate quite fast. Bear in mind that some quests depend on timescale and setting it below 6 IIRC can cause some bug and issues. I don't change any other settings, but you can also change arrow speed and many more. Up to you if you want to use them, just bear in mind any mods that do the same will get overwritten by Bashed Patch, as it's generally loaded up last. -
Replacement for Realistic Crime Radius?
rootsrat replied to Zarggg's question in General Skyrim LE Support
That, but it also merges levelled lists from various mods + you can tweak some in-game settings (crime detection radius, time scale etc.) when creating it. -
Hi Manny. Good to have you here - we have a few of your mods in STEP guide. If you send a message to z929669 on Nexus to confirm your identity you'll get a shiny, fancy Mod Author badge here on STEP :) Just a quick note - Mod Suggestion forum is to suggest one mod per thread, so I've amended this thread title to a more appropriate one. The grotto looks very nice indeed! It's always good to see some extra features, like a mini quest to get the house and some interactive elements. I may actually try this for one of my characters :) I'm not sure why, but player homes are rarely discussed on STEP forums. Never really thought of that :)

Slight offtop - you can edit with tapatalk. Just press and hold the post, and when you release, a menu with diff options appears :)

Nice! Can't wait now!

Not sure if anyone uses this mod. Looking in TES5EDIT I can see a few conflicts which I'm not sure are safe to fix. I am not sure what the highlighted records do in game and how they will affect the mod. I asked the author but he was not able to answer, so hopefully someone with more Skyrim mechanics knowledge will be able to help. Talking about the below: 1. For this one, I am deducting that BYOH means Buy Your Own Home, since it's in Hearthfires.esm (I am using HF version of the mod). Does anyone know what does this do in Dialog View branch? 2. Again, BYOH, but this one in Quest branch and relating to Driver Faction - safe to fix?

https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37334/ This was just uploaded to Nexus. Sounds interesting and very much along the lines of STEP mandate :) Maybe some of you will find it useful? Should we consider it for STEP at all, as an alternative to lighting solution?
-
what is STATUS?It's a mod that adds a new menu to MCM to display various information about the player and the game environment. It's a very helpful tool when testing mods.

This is weird then... Any other lighting mods? CoT interiors?
