  1. If you have ALL the textures at 2k quality, then you most probably running into famous 3.3GB RAM CTD (in short: Skyrim is 32-bit program, and as such can only utilise 3.3 GB of your RAM. When your RAM overloads, the program crashes). However, I'm also sure that TES5EDIT errors are 99% reason for your CTDs. See, amending records in T5E is basically messing with mods construction. Again, in short and simplified: if you deleted a record from an ESP file, and then during your game that record was referenced by, let's say a script, the game would crash. As you messed the mods, I'm afraid the best course of action would be full reinstall of Skyrim, including downloading mods. As for the checked "Back Up Plugins" it doesn't really matter, as all this does is create a back up folder in your MO Overwrites folder and stores the original plugins when the modified ones are saved in T5E. So at least you can just revert to the backed up ones and no need to download those mods, just the ones you messed with and have no back up. I would also recommend getting 1k textures for all exterior, but you can safely install 2k for interior stuff, as there are no interior locations that would utilise as much as 3GB of your RAM. Presuming that you are not very familiar with mechanics of mods, I would also suggest reverting to STEP install, rather than SR. As STEP does not include mod edits and is easy to follow, much easier than SR. Hope it works out for you in the end and I can assure you that 99% of use were once in the exactly same situation as you are now :) 3 days is still not bad result... My first SR install took over a week :D and I failed miserably! Quick tip - after you install everything run Wrye Bash and check if any of the mods have DARK RED tickbox background. If so, that means there is some kind of conflict, most presumably a missing master file, and your game would most likely CTD at main menu.
  2. Update: I ran it, excluding Bashed patch, my own custom patches and all SkyProc patchers and relevant files. Mixed feelings. Some mods were merged just fine, in many however keywords were missed. Sometime merges didn't make sense. I run about 400 mods altogether, and I'm at 253-255 esps, depending on a profile. This is a complicated build and I think it's just too complicated for an automated patch. I prefer to create my own custom patches - I currently have two - a general one excluding SkyRe and another one for SkyRe specifically, in case I wanted to build a profile without SkyRe. Simply because I have more control over what's being merged. It takes more time, true, but is more reliable. I guess for less complicated builds the merged patch will do it's job, but it will still require some corrections after it's been built.
  3. Do you use Automatic Variants? If so, place all the pack you downloaded back in the relevant folder and rerun the patcher Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  4. Yet another ESP though ;) I will have to look into this then! Will it deactivate the merged ESPs as well?

  8. FurMark is another good gfx card stress testing tool. Furmark doesn't really stress memory at all so I wouldn't consider that a good test for VRAM. Oh? I wasn't aware of that... Is it more for clocks testing then? I believe it is more for testing for temperature related problems and core clock, yea. I tried the Video Memory Stress Test that William mentioned above but I can't get it to stress my full 3gb of vram. Apologies for confusing the matter then! Should have really read up about the tool before recommending...

  11. Interesting. I was thinking of that actually recently, when modding my Fallout NV game, as I used merged patch then. Could you expand on that please? In what respect MP is superior to BP?
  12. MO for mod management (more user friendly functionality), WB for simple conflict & missing masters detection + bashed patch :)
  13. I never tend to tick "Do not show this again" in case I need a BSA file unpacked for whatever reason... Automation is good, but control is better ;)
  14. Not sure about the fire effect, but for tree textures make sure you follow detailed instructions on Skyrim Flora Overhaul and tTrees HD STEP mod pages, as the guide instructs. Also note that there is a specific sticky thread in Support and Troubleshooting forums to report missing textures.
  15. There is no instructions in 2.2.6 how to create a bashed patch and include this tweak. It is included in Neo's Skyrim Revisited, but not in the STEP guide. This needs to be added. Possibly just copy and paste from Neo's guide, excluding timescale? Unless STEP wants to recommend timescale change too? Personally I would include that too, as it makes the game a bit more realistic. I use 8, SR suggests 10, default is 20.
  16. I dont see anything at the bottom for WB. There is no instructions in 2.2.6 how to create a bashed patch and include this tweak. It is included in Neo's Skyrim Revisited, but not in the STEP guide. This needs to be added. I'll update the bug thread.
  17. Thanks Eliian :) I have my own custom bulk patch (all in one) to save ESP slots ;)
  18. Yeah, I love to RP my characters, I've posted about this somewhere here a few times :) Check my STEP page from my signature, I list my chars there (there's only 1 for now, but more to come).
  19. Unfortunately, with complex games like that it's nearly impossible to avoid potential exploit tools. I've always said that any game is just as much fun, as you make it! :)
  20. And this is the most crucial sentence in this post. I don't really understand why people complain about exploits like this... Even in vanilla game you can use console to overpower yourself, no? Or just turn god mode on and happily start smashing giants at level 1. But you don't do it. So why would you exploit the above? Effectively, there is no difference between equipping all those items and reducing shout cooldown to 1 second and reducing shout cooldown to 1 second using console command. If you want to cheat, you will ALWAYS find a way to do so. But why spoil the fun?
  21. I was thinking of exactly the same thing as a solution. Maybe a message could also be displayed, something like: "You have a sense of great danger lurking inside this location. You back off and decide to come back here later". Just a quick draft, but you get the idea.
