SKYRIMLE ABT - Arrows and Bolts Tweaks by Kevkas
rootsrat replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
ABT is a great mod, I used to use it before I included SkyRe in my playthroughs. If I move away from SkyRe I will most definitely come back to this mod, it's well designed and easy to use. SkyRe changes the speed of arrows and bolts as far as I remember. You can tweak arrow speed via WB tweaks too. -
https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34105/? Another interesting mod, by It Rained On's author. This one will pile up snow on Winterhold's roofs, and when there is too much snow it will fall down. I have not tried it, so I don't know how good it is, but it surely looks interesting in the video on mod's page. Progress: 50% Winterhold is now done.

It's worth mentioning that it affects only Whiterun now.

https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33886/? I've just found this mod while looking for some rain textures... I've never tried it, but it looks interesting! Not compatible with mods that change the respective cells in the cities.Â

SKYRIMLE Ultimate Spinning Arrows (by Palistov and Nofumasa)
rootsrat replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Some quick research on web proves that arrows DO spin! https://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/showthread.php?t=197961 https://www.meta-synthesis.com/archery/archery.html (search the page for "Fletchings or Vanes: Spinning") -
SKYRIMLE Ultimate Spinning Arrows (by Palistov and Nofumasa)
rootsrat replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I am not an expert, but just thinking simple physics - for the arrow to spin it would have to have twisted feathers, so that airflow would make it spin, no? Since the ingame arrows have straight feather, the spinning arrows are not realistic methinks. -
STEP is to enhance vanilla experience only and it does not aim to introduce any gameplay changes. Read up the STEP mandate. SR is Neo's personal project, looking to enhance the game, going beyond vanilla. Also, SR is for more experienced users, as it includes creating some custom patches etc.

Noob help required, using WYRE etc
rootsrat replied to TheHistorian's question in General Skyrim LE Support
If you use MO to manage your mods, you don't need to use WB, unless you want to create a Bashed Patch. If you want to use WB as your mod manager, then you run it normally, and don't use MO. -

rootsrat replied to TheHistorian's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I second that. MO is much easier to use for a beginner mod user. Just ensure that you read the guide, as MO works a little differently - it creates a virtual Data folder, keeping your \Skyrim\Data folder clean. That means you have to run all the related applications (BOSS etc.) through the special executables menu in MO. Once you get used to it, it's really easy - definitely easier than Wrye Bash. For MO you don't unpack your mods, you install them directly from zipped archives. -
What other smithing mods do you use?

You know you've been playing Skyrim too much when... you walk the street, and then you look up to the sky and think (or say) "it's nearly as beautiful as the sky in my Skyrim game..." or "there's way too much bloom!" Yes, I did this a few times, following by being called an addicted idiot by my girlfriend :D

SKYRIMLE Better fitting Glass Helmet by Abakus
rootsrat replied to rootsrat's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Ah. Never thought of that. I will do comparison shots when I have a moment. -
https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4085/? I just remembered about this mod - was using it some time ago but for some reason I removed it from my tracking list and hence it was forgotten :) It changes a glass helmet mesh, so that it isn't as wide as vanilla. IMHO it looks much better. Does not conflict with anything in STEP at the moment. No brainer, really. Â

Good find! Love little improvements like that! I presume there is no ESP, just a sound file? -
SKYRIMLE Cinematic Fire Effects 2 HD (by Ichibu)
rootsrat replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Maybe we should make some rules for fire comparison then? Set a few different times and places? I.e. 1. Exterior 10:00 2. Exterior 16:00 3. Exterior 22:00 4. Interior - tavern 10:00 5. Interior - tavern 16:00 6. Interior - tavern 22:00 7. Interior - cave 10:00 8. Interior - cave 16:00 9. Interior - cave 22:00 ?? -

GPU overloading although barely half VRAM is used
rootsrat replied to Archy333's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Ah, of course. Just being blind... Apologies, kindly ignore me then :) -
Stick to 1K, definitely.
-
Couple of things: - Use only one of: - AFAIK UFO has lots of conflicts. Use Extensible Followers Framework instead.

rootsrat replied to Archy333's question in General Skyrim LE Support
First of all and most important - what is your spec? Vague "my GPU is getting hammered" is not enough to give any opinion... -
SKYRIMLE Cinematic Fire Effects 2 HD (by Ichibu)
rootsrat replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I added the Nexus mod's page URL to the OP. -
I'm with Z on this one. Definitely prefer the vanilla style. The coins look like they've been in the circulation for quite a long time now, rather than straight from the mint (or whatever they call the place to produce coins in the Empire :) ). The Empire is a vast territory, it is weakened by the events of past couple of hundred of years. Distribution of brand new coins across the provinces they are still in control of wouldn't be their highest priority I think, hence the coins should rather be rugged and rough.

Unfortunately I know nothing about Papyrus or in fact any other scripting system... -
Need help interpreting Papyrus log
rootsrat replied to rootsrat's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Ah, of course, I totally forgot that MO hex mod index numbering! It is Frostfall then. I'll try to switch the mod off and replay the scene. I'm pretty sure it's not VRAM. I use 1K exterior textures and used 2K characters, but reduced them to 1K as well, as the first thoguht that came to my mind was reaching the dreaded 3GB RAM limit.
