  1. I've heard that EBT and BSF are likely culprits of freezes during combat. In fact EBT was the case for me - I am not using it anymore and I've also removed BSF to be on a safe side. Stability > Effects :)
  2. It could possibly be too many combat scripts kicking in at once. EBT, BSF, SkyRe, Duel, DSI - all those ran together may easily kill the game :)
  3. I can see a few possible reasons: - ABT is not compatible with SkyRe - UFO is full of errors/conflicts - Enhanced Blood Textures scripts are known to cause freezes in heavily modded game (I personally removed that mod as it was causing crashes when combined with SkyRe's combat module, enemy AI module and also Duel - the freezes stopped) You are also using quite a few mods that I am not familiar with, that could be the culprits. From experience I know that SKyRe is causing A LOT of conflicts and it does requite A LOT of patches that are not available on Nexus.
  4. Exactly the same happening with me, as well. I'm not 100% sure but only with journals. PS: My resolution is 1920x1080 if it matters. I've had the same problem in 2.2.5. Removing the book opening time tweak from skyrim.ini did not help. I am not using this tweak anymore, and in fact I would question it's presence in STEP - why is this recommended at all and perceived as an improvement over vanilla?
  5. Interesting, it may be an Easter egg possibly? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
  6. That is a ver valid point Techangel, totally agree. That was the exact reason I've stopped using Beautiful Whiterun (and similar) long time ago. Nevertheless, I've installed this mod and had a quick look. First thing that came into sight were windows - Visible Windows Currently in STEP is still better IMHO. Also Better Shadowmarks stand out too much with Cabal's Whiterun - although this may be my ENB, I will have to have a closer look.
  7. Wow. Cabal is as tireless as I am speechless :)
  8. I am planning to add it to my set up and will be definitely checking it for any STEP conflicts, so expext a report soon, possibly even this weekend.
  9. Ouch. In that case I would recommend reinstalling Skyrim from scratch, but using Mod Organizer this time. Manual installation is beyond any recommendation, simply DO NOT DO THAT :) Maybe if you install 1 or 2 mods, but certainly NOT with a very complex set up, like STEP. MO is the best tool out there IMHO. Wrye Bash is just as good and it also offers some extended functionality - but it's definitely for more experienced modders. MO has one big advantage - it does not use your Skyrim\Data folder (that's one of the reasons you can't start using MO if you previously installed mods directly into Skyrim\Data folder), but instead it creates a virtual Data folder each time you run the game. It also uses separate folders for each mod installation, meaning that you will never overwrite any files in error and also you will be able to freely manipulate your install order, moving mods up and down, VIRTUALLY overwritting the files. It's a godsend, simply. And BOSS is a fully automated tool, yes. You don't have to monitor via BUM (BUM is a standalone extension to BOSS). You will need to create manual sorting rules for mods that are not recognised by BOSS, but you only do it once - and then BOSS will include them in the automated process. You have to run BOSS each time you install new mods that contain ESP file.
  10. Moved to a more suitable forum.
  11. That is a really good suggestion actually. I would play vanilla game first to get the feel and finish the main quest at least :) Then start modding.
  12. You just have to download relevant files from mod pages. Any mods that provide exterior textures (roads, rocks, trees etc.) you would download in 1K version (if available of course). Any mods that provide interior, character or weapons and armours you would download in higher resolution. There is no guide required.
  13. I will reply to this in the other thread. Please do not create off topic, as this is not relevant to this thread.
  14. And most of us use CoT anyway :)
  15. Discussion thread: HQ Paper by Anarin Wiki Link Just found this mod. It covers a bit more than Realistic Paper that we currently use in STEP: Books, notes, business ledgers, rolls of paper, scrolls, battle maps and the corresponding world objects (such as open books, notes on the wall, etc). Worth comparing I think. Mod Testing[*]Gather and post compares from current STEP (Realistic Paper - Dark / HQ Skyrim Map) and this mod. [*]Attempt to gather all the compares from the textures covered as possible. [*]No ENBs/light mods should be used in the compares. Gwoody79's Compares: Vanilla ------------ HQ Skyrim Map (current STEP) ----------- HQ Paper map Vanilla ---------- Realistic Paper Dark (current STEP) ---------- HQ Paper book TechAngel85's Compares: Vanilla >> STEP >> HQ Paper
  16. I don't like the effect, at least on screenshots. It makes the bottles look empty IMHO.
  17. Sleeping Dogs is awesome! Deus Ex... :/ Meh. I was very disappointed with it. Big fan of the original one, one of the best games of those times. 2nd one... Let's just not speak about it. DE:HR... Absolutely boring piece of ******
  18. Just to clarify - this is the upcoming new version of the STEP guide - watch this space! :)
  19. STEP is a guide to mod your game in a way that will be true to the vanilla (i.e. not modded) game. STEP tells you what mods you should download and install and in what order. It does not include mods that change the actual gameplay - as we want your game to be enhanced but not changed - that's the reason for those kind of mods not being included in the guide. There is nothing wrong with getting mods that change your game at all, but this is not STEP philosophy :)
  20. Agreed. Keep it simple and offer extended features as optionals.Â
  21. It's here, just in case it gets buried in the thread fast.
  22. https://www.wykop.pl/ramka/1587347/pokoje-graczy-ktore-sa-czyms-wiecej-niz-zwykle-stanowisko-do-grania-w-gre/ Some of those are fairly average, but... JUST LOOK AT NUMBER 10!
  23. It usually says on the mod page: 2K textures, 1K textures... If you have too big textures you will get to (in)famous 3.1 GB limit (see Gopher's recent video on Nexus main page). Saying that though, the reaching 3.1 GB limit usually crashes the game, rather than freezes it.
  24. You have many mods that are not in STEP at all. Do you use any texture replacers? If so, what texture size? Quite often freezes are also caused by Papyrus script overload - if you use too many heavily scripted mods, the game engine will not cope with all those scripts running together and freeze.
  25. Perfectly fine to skip 2.2.5 and go directly to 2.2.6. Just make sure to view changelog as some mods were dropped. Not sure about the 2nd question, I use MO as a mod manager.
