  1. ETaC 13.3 now, just to chip in.
  2. The guide is always under review, if there are sections that appear unclear then highlight those sections as a request and I know the STEP team and indeed pack authors would try to accommodate you after all we all want the same thing - a clear guide to a fully functioning and impressive Skyrim. As a pack author I have stated that the pack assumes that you have built a fully functioning STEP or SR profile before trying the pack. When that is the case you will already be familiar with all the tools and the kinds of problems and fixes that arise and should then have no problem installing the pack. It does take a great deal of time to become proficient at modding, there are simpler guides out there that involve less mods and therefore far less time to implement. Part of the beauty of STEP is that it is a teaching resource as well as a guide and a discussion forum. It only really takes a couple of hours to install a full STEP profile (especially if all the mods are already downloaded). Extra testing, which can be very time consuming, will depend on whether or not your system runs Skyrim well - I tend not to bother. I just want to know that it is working and that my frame rate is good enough, but for those that really want to get under the hood there are the resources and instructions that you need here on the site. But of course where those instructions are unclear or do not carry the intended meaning then corrections are needed which is where the STEP community comes in by calling attention to errors or making suggestions for clarity. Which brings us back to the original point, please highlight any areas that are unclear and could be better explained so that guide/pack authors can make improvements to their work.
  3. Nope and you don't n eed to veer away from the guide, I changed because ELFX needs a lot of patching. Just stick the guide and you are good. Of course Vividian goes without saying (thought I'd better slip that in there so as not to accidentally hijack the thread).
  4. Should be as Neo recommends in the guide the only change is PW and RS with the merged Vividian ENB.esp moved as shown above. No need to change anything else. I am not using ELFX at the moment myself and I am happy with the results.
  5. Yep as described in SR:LE. In SR:LE the CoT plugins and Falskar addon are merged into the CoT-WeatherPatch.esp. So nowt to do with Vividian.
  6. No you wont but you will need to load the resultant merged patch after Real Shelter.esp which itself needs to load after any and all mods that affect the weather. I have it loaded thus.. Seems to be working fine at present.
  7. This is due to patches that come with Vividian ENB. Basically you add in Pure weather to the mix, then while installing Vividian where the options imply a PW one you select it, except for those that require the PW Brighter nights options (unless you want the brighter nights option but why would you?). It's all fairly self explanatory and since all you need to know is shown on the Vividian ENB page on the nexus I don't need to add it to my guide page I only point you in the direction. I use CoT, PW, ESS, SS, SoR and Vividian and this is a great combo. I am also trying out Real Shelter, which is dead easy to install.
  8. Ok, if you want an enhanced vanilla feel, with OTT perk trees and very fiddly install but also increased difficulty (though not very increased difficulty) then go with SkyRe. If you want an easier time of the install and a more demanding and challenging game then go with Requiem (obviously my preference). I actually like SkyRe but the compatibility issues and installation issues make it a headache for me but I do like a lot of the features. I find that Requiem works really well with SR:LE adding challenge and plenty of surprises. The only current drawback is the latest version of Requiem is not compatible with previous versions and so many of the patches need updating. In particular the one for Dragonborn. This can be worked around though. Alternatively if you follow the guide in the Requiem pack and use the previous version of Requiem 1.73 then it will all work out of the box so to speak. If you have followed SR:LE then you will be using BOSS and so rules for that are included in the Requiem guide. If you use LOOT then well you will need to build a compatibility patch to ensure key features of the mod are carried through. This would be true for a SkyRe build as well. Anyway that is my almost, but not completely un-biased opinion.
  9. Yes that is correct. When it comes to following SR:LE or the guide on the Vividian web page then just go ahead. ESS and SS and pure weather can also be added in to the mix if following Vividian, either way it all works well.
  10. I have updated the Weather pack a little. It is a tad out of date. The updates include Vividian ENB (long overdue) and some advisory notes which include an allusion to common sense as it is impossible to account far any and all set ups. I originally started the Weather & Lighting pack to get the ball rolling on the whole pack idea and it has been quite popular and as can be seen the original intention has worked brilliantly as there are a good number of well thought out packs now made by far more knowledgeable people than me. It is just a shame that I have to eat, sleep work and like live a whole other life otherwise I could create packs that did not require any users to switch their brains on at all just press a button and watch it all happen for them. The STEP team, mod, pack and guide authors have all been very lax in that department - using excuses like integrity and respect and RL to get away with such poorly constructed work, hell even needing users to read is asking too much. A little Sunday morning sarcasm never hurt anyone = seriously no offense intended to anyone. Going back into marking hell now, that is punishment enough in itself.
  11. Those are already patched in Requiem - Patch Central, very unlikely that they will need any attention, actually BOYD is patched elsewhere and is I think up to date. I'm waiting on Dragonborn Remade myself before I update the guide for STEP. Need a few more to update for SR:LE and REGS. That said I can't get the latest version of ETaC to work as whenever I use it my game will not load properly - I'm sure it is something obvious, just don't have a great deal of time to look. Off to the pub now to put all those calories back on that I just burned at the gym - GET IN!!
  12. Make sure you are loading up your whole load order as well as the conflict resolution plugin, I'm sure you did that but just thought I'd check.
  13. Guerrilla warfare needed for that one. Great to complete it though.
  14. Right click on the entry and you get options one of which is 100000101. Select it and you are golden. That instruction isn't clear but it is possible that Neo meant it to be so as he is trying to nudge us all to learn these tools better. Of course if he didn't intend that then yes the instruction is not clear as I spent a little time looking for answers before it occurred to me to try right clicking.
  15. This I do not know. Azirok is currently in the process of updating his patches. There may well be a number of patches that wont need much or any adjustments but there are some big changes in 1.8 so I will wait and see. Unlikely that the game will crash with these older patches, you may well just be able to update them when the new ones come out, hopefully.
  16. This has always been a must have mod for me as I disable fast travel, it has always been a trouble free godsend - thanks a lot Rein for making it.
  17. Do Dead Space, get stuck in, it's all good. You wont miss anything When you come back hopefully the next gen of this pack will be up and running. Then we can all get our medieval on in a brilliantly challenging way .
  18. Azirok will be publishing a guide aimed at helping users build a Requiem CR patch. Considering the mods that he uses I doubt that it would easily be possible to get a more challenging game, his game is a combination of SR (like mods) plus REGS (like mods) Plus Requiem plus mods like SoT, it is a really ambitious build. With the skyproc patcher built in as well then compatibility is only going to improve. He will also be putting some merged plugins together that will no doubt require the use of certain deservedly popular mods. I can't wait.
  19. Well there is a balance. I played the game through three times before I discovered modding different character builds. that was back in 2012 early, have not played it through since, though have lots of fun little goes of the game trying out new mods and dungeons. I guess the quest for a stable uber game is what motivates me to keep working on it. That said using load order you can get a stable game, that is after all how the pack is built but it is built around 1.73 of Requiem - I do not see why 1.8 will not be as effective in a similar configuration except for the absence of an updated Requiem - Dragonborn.
  20. OH we have all spent much longer than that and it is all so much easier than it used to be.
  21. You can use load order to settle most things as far as Requiem is concerned but it is not the ideal. When Requiem was originally devised it was not meant to be used alongside lots of other mods as it includes a great many of those mods within itself and touches nearly everything in the game but when you use mods like DCO it needs to overwrite Requiem scripts but certain changes by that mod makes Dragons too weak so a patch is added to correct the stats back up to those that Requiem has for Dragons, but otherwise allows DCO to do it's thing. If you loaded DCO before Requiem then it would largely overwritten and pointless. It's a question of how stable you want your game to be. The more script intensive mods you add the less picturesque mods you can have due to having to load cells on entry. E.G. Enhanced Blood and Wet & Cold add a lot of scripts which can strain the engine in certain situations. So much better to reduce that script burden. That said Azirok uses a lot of script heavy mods including SoT, but he also builds a CR patch to ensure he gets what he needs and the game runs smoothly. You kept mentioning a CR patch so I assumed you were making one. If you don't want to use one then use Azirok's load order but at the end of you mod list. You may find a number of your other mods become obsolete though. Like I said before it is your choice. The pack guide has a suggested place to move Requiem but it is for BOSS so it wont be as simple with LOOT. the game runs well with that load order in place. Azirok is officially back on the case now so we should be getting some updated patches soon, not to mention the packs he was planning on making as well as a guide to help make Requiem compatible by building your own CR patch. I will incorporate all of this into the guide as soon as it becomes available.
  22. Ok well it's up to you, you have to make sure that Requiem and related mods win when they need to and that can only be done by building a patch. In that case do not use LOOT to sort your Requiem mods, put all of them at the end of your load order (before bashed patch) in the order shown by Azirok. The only way to be sure. LOOT works great but you need the patch to make it work with Requiem .and similar overhauls.
  23. Actually it's not that many edits, I have in fact done this and it looks good.
  24. It is worth having a look at worldspace conflicts but it looks as though you are ready to start testing in game. I can't see any kind of compatibility patch in your load order but if you are building one and it seems you are (and you should) then it will need to load just before the bashed patch. Good stuff.
  25. Don't have time this morning for a proper look, but first thing is lose SoS. You already have AOS. SoS will cause too many problems for you. AOS covers the same ground in a more compatible way. Any mod that modifies cells can cause problems which I guess you will see when you load up your load order in TES5Edit. Many of Azirok's patches need Requiem - Resources as a master so check that it is high enough. Should be just after Reequiem.esp.
