pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim
Smile44 replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
That would be fiendishly useful I've had to semi roll back for now. -
HI, I would hold off on installing 1.81 as there needs to be more patches produced for it to be fully compatible with either STEP or SR:LE. Though Azirok is currently out of action due to workload some others are using his files as a base for making updated patches so perhaps we needn't wait too long. Of course you can always try your own but until Dragonborn patch is made or redone, then I would wait. All the best,

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Smile44 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
It's freakish how long it takes to build these things, but with practice and with all the mods already downloaded a rebuild only takes around 6 hours including the CR patch, STEP much less time - it does get better. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

The reasoning is that Wet & Cold distributes all the cloaks so the main plugin isn't needed. -
I can confirm that these packs work together well. A compatibility patch loaded after the SR:LE CR patch is a useful thing to build as well, just to make sure all key stats and or mods are running as they are supposed to.

Dude if there was only one opinion then we would never have come down from the trees in the first place. This is getting a tad boring, I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person. Doesn't seem fair. If you insist on hijacking this thread to promote your own ego then bully for you, have at it sunshine. I will leave you to it. 1.8 is out soon (this week) and will require a few changes, not to mention all the stuff that Azirok has lined up with merged mods for packs and conflict resolution guides which will naturally lead to an update of this pack. But you never know the Lord God Almighty might decide to make a pack and save me the trouble. Damn and I said I was going to leave it alone. Definitely mean it this time.

How marvelous it is to be untroubled by doubt. Apparently there can be only one valid point of view, and of course the world is flat, the sun goes round the Earth and God is an omnipresent old guy with a beard. Go figure,

Aziorok does not use a bashed patch as he has his leveled lists sorted how he wants them - this is something that he has stated quite clearly in his posts, of course if you use mods that he has not patched then you will need to use a bashed patch. I don't use one except for merging mods but instead build a conflict patch that sorts the lists as I want them something that a bashed patch does not always get right. Time consuming but worth it. If only the world was black and white and all arguments were so simple, even imagined ones.

That's the spirit, eventually you will become an uber mensch, but not till you've completed Dragonborn circa level 45+. I completely got my ass handed to me in the Temple of Black Rock and I was using a cheated super character to test without having to try to hard. That place in monstrous.

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Nope these can be ignored as Neo has placed the mods in this order for specific reasons, the order does get changed sometimes but always to ensure the correct mods are overwritten or not as the case may be. -
pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim
Smile44 replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
OK I'm gonna change my comments on this, in my latest play through Whiterun was causing me all sorts of problems massive drops and freezes, not sure why that didn't happen before. Shame though because it looks amazing with JK and DoW. Humph! -
Good luck with that, let me know if you have any problems or if the guide is not clear.

A couple of things first, when I look at your mod list in the above wryebash image I can see a number of the patches that you say you have merged, if they are in the merged patch then remove them that is just going to cause you problems, move them up into the optional esp folder in MO. Secondly Moon and Star is a REGS mod and has a patch for Requiem which removes a giant slaughter fish around Little Vivec which hampers that mod. By grumpy USKP patch I mean the one that would not merge Requiem - USKP Patch. Modding is not that difficult but there is a learning curve. All the work you have done with Requiem to get it to work has been necessary because you would have had problems anyway. There is nothing that you would have done in following the Requiem guide that would have wrecked STEP Extended. You need to get that working again, assuming that you have separate profiles for each of the builds you have just talked about then you have done something wrong in STEP Extended. The mods I tell you to remove in the Requiem pack would not cause any problems in the game they are just obsolete with Requiem in the mix. You need to get STEP sorted because the fact that your STEP Extended profile doesn't work and your STEP Extended + REGS profile does not work suggests that your problem lies there in STEP Extended. So fix that making a note of the changes then apply those to your other profiles and you should be good to go. Don't lose heart everyone here (at least those who have been around awhile) have built and rebuilt STEP and or SR many, many I'm talking dozens if not a hundred times over the years - all to learn and to produce working guides such as the ones hosted here. But it is intended that all those who mod learn to use the tools, properly and well so that you can learn to do what many people manage to do which is to build a heavily modded but functional game. Once you understand what the tools do, what esp files and esm files do, what is meant by master files and patches, how to merge files safely then I'm sure that you will be playing a brilliant game far superior to what Bethesda intended. Everyone here is still learning because that is the nature of modding and I feel that you have jumped in at the deep end with a very ambitious mod build - which I guarantee will work but you have made some fundamental errors here and there. We've all mode those errors or similar and we have learned from them. New users like yourself do provide mod authors or pack authors with insights that help improve packs and mods with a new perspective and I have made several changes to my packs due to questions and feedback and I am grateful for that. There are no shortcuts really, you need to learn how to mod while you are following a guide, SR:LE is one of the best guides for teaching as you go, but STEP provides detailed guides on all of the tools. Anyway get STEP profile fixed exactly as it should be in the guide, make the same changes to your other profiles. Or learn the tools and rebuild STEP learning as you go so you become more confident with it all. Either way ask in the STEP troubleshooting forum for help with STEP, I don't have it installed at present and am not planning to until 2.3 comes out or another compelling reason occurs so it would be difficult for me to be as much help with your build as others on the site. But it doesn't hurt to ask, I will try to help as I can, but you need to perhaps read some guides for TES5Edit, MO WryeBash, LOOT etc. Just had a thought, check that you have SKSE installed propely that would mess up all your programs if it is not. Though it does not always cause a CTD it would certainly help. Best of luck,

Higher leveled gear is available to lower level NPCs but it is much rarer. Best not to use a bashed patch if you use Azirok's patches other then to merge mods and certainly not to merge names and stats. If weapon / Armor mods use the correct names for their entries then Requiem will naturally sort their stats, but it is worth checking and making corrections in a Requiem Conflict patch of some sort. I very much recommend doing this if you know your way around TES5Edit but a bashed patch is a no no. Just looked at your load order and Requiem needs to load after any and all weapon mods. You may need to make a patch for lore weapons. I have just downloaded 1.3 which is not fully compatible with DSR yet but I will have a look at it's stats and it's compatibility with Requiem. Requiem does not change the values of weapons like SkyRe does it multiplies them so all weapons have their vanilla stats x 4 (adjustable in the MCM) a similar approach works for armors which is why Requiem.esp needs to load later than all weapon and armor mods. The idea behind a de-leveled world as in Requiem is not to assume that every bandit, warrior, creature in the game started their time in Skyrim at the same time you did. Some will have been around longer, accumulated more gear and trained longer than you have, but few have the potential of the Dragonborn who will eventually surpass them, but will still find difficult boss level enemies, Dragons and high level mobs but will otherwise become the most powerful being in Skyrim, which is generally what happens in most RPGs. The way leveling works is that you will have completed the whole game by then. Dawnguard should not be started till level 30 (which is when you will be approached) vampires are just too damn tough. Dragonborn will challenge 40+ level players. So it all balances out in the end. Though it could be done better and will be in next version. You could de-level your bashed patch but Azirok is quite adamant that these should not be used. He is working in tandem with Ogreboss on Requiem 1.8 which is imminent and many of these potential issues have been addressed including boosting the AI of various combatants instead of just boosting their health which is definitely the right way to go about increasing difficulty. Anyway I hope this helps and if I have oversimplified in any way no slight was intended but lordy I am tired, phew what a week. EDIT: Having looked at Lore Weapon Expansion, it will require a patch for the leveled lists only, but there is a lot of them sigh. May give this a go at some point though not today. Of course a bashed patch would merge those lists and should help but Stats and names should not be ticked.
-
No you didn't if you had you would just have the patches for Inconsequential NPCs, Interesting NPCs and Moon and Star as well as the grumpy USKP patch still not in the merge patch. All CCOR patches should be in the merge file as well as resources. Make sure load order is: Requiem.esp Requiem - Resources.esp Requiem - USKP Patch.esp Requiem Merged Patches .esp Then every thing else Did you re do the DSR skyproc patch? Can you run skyrim vanilla game through MO? Lots of things left to try.
-
Those are orange boxes not red and mean that masters are not in the expected order, it is fixed by loading the plugin in TES5Edit and then right clicking and select "Sort Masters" close down TES5Edit and save the file (uncheck "back up" in bottom left hand corner if you haven't already). Do that for each it isn't crucial but is useful. If TES5Edit is loading your full order without problems then it is going to be something slightly less common. How many plugins do you have in total? If more than 255 then the game will crash. I notice that you left a number of Requiem patches out of the merge that I suggested, so clearly you are not following my instructions to the letter. Then again you have seldom done that for your own reasons I guess. The next thing to check is you Skyrim folder. Open up Steam and right click on the game and go down to properties, then in the next box, go down to local files and click on Verify Integrity of Game cache. It will install any missing files.
-
Actually that thread is out of date. The Requiem pack has all the instructions you need to add Requiem to SR:LE. I would Install SR:LE first and check that it is working as it should, then add Requiem on top. The load order shown in the pack is based off Azirok's one from the Requiem Patch Central page. Any probs let me know.
-
Loot should sort those properly as I have said. Those are rules to use with BOSS Userlist Manager, you should not need them. Have you tried getting TES5Edit to load up your whole load order after LOOT has sorted i? IN other words open TES5Edit and then click OK, if it does not finish loading, you will get an error message. The right hand pane will tell you what is wrong. Normally if the game crashes on start up you have a missing master file and this TES5Edit method will Identify it as will opening up wrye bash look for RED boxes. If that doesn't show what the fault is then it is very likely one of your skyproc patches are you running DSR? If you are then run it again as you may have added new data since the last time. Try TES5Edit first though.
-
Remove both of those plugins. The errors you show tell you that you have missing plugins which are masters you either install those mods or remove the plugins. You don't have "Immersive Armors 7" or "Winter is Coming Cloaks". The Requiem STEP Patch is out of date and you don't need it. If you get similar errors then look at the names of the plugins and decide do you need this plugin, if yes then install the mods indicated if not remove the plugin.

Any complete overview of packs and compatibility?
Smile44 replied to xxx78's question in General Skyrim LE Support
War ensemble has two parts, the second Reign in blood contains mods from STEP Extended. The first 'Die by the Sword' has some additions to the game that mostly wont cause many problems with other packs. Weather and Survival packs are completely compatible with it as they touch different things. MMO and REGS will also be compatible though 1st 2 mods from the first pack might be problematic I'm sure that it would easily be solvable. This pack mainly adds CWO, the only mod likely to cause any problems is Civil War Repairs and that only with REGS as the others do not touch The cities in any way. -
pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim

Nope not for myself. using JK's and Piano2's mods together including outskirts. They do work together. It is reasonable to assume that there could be some drop but it is not noticeable. Could be something else causing problems or interference. Not a very hopeful post, sigh. -
Any complete overview of packs and compatibility?
Smile44 replied to xxx78's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Compatibility between packs is dealt with in the pack pages, where there is compatibility it is often brought up particularly in the case of STEP (both versions) and SR:LE, REGS and Requiem also refer to each other. Survival and Weather & Lighting packs have built in compatibility with STEP and Requiem and also are fully compatible with REGS. With the exception of Morrowloot which is chiefly compatible with STEP and REGS but is not compatible with SR:LE (though it's modularity means parts of it are compatible) or Requiem which does many of the same sorts of things but differently and would therefore be hugely conflicting packs. These are the main updated packs AFAIA. So given that any compatibility is dependent on the pack author's vision (if you can call it that), there is already quite a lot of what you are asking about. Not to mention that as STEP moves towards 2.3 there will be more an more work on streamlining the packs so that this issue becomes even clearer at the point at which STEP Extended separates from CORE and officially becomes a pack. Which oddly enough all the packs mentioned above (not counting SR:LE of course) are compatible with and should say so on the pages. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Smile44 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Have to agree SR:LE as is provides few real challenges so not sure how you are finding it difficult. Now put Requiem on top and it becomes beyond awesome, and difficult. SR:LE is not finished yet but provides the best base out there to which you need to add very little. Except maybe REGS as it is the most 'must have' pack on the wiki IMHO. -
There is usually more information further down on the right hand panel when this happens which will tell you which file is having problems, then merge that particular file manually into the patch. I have merged twice as many patches as you are trying to in my current Requiem - Merged Patches because I am using SR plus REGS plus Requiem and a fair number of other mods and it does so without a problem. Do you have the latest versions of the patches?
