  1. Will do. Am away from PC but when I left to go to the folks for Xmas I had most of it down pat, except that the game won't load a new game the dreaded ILS. I will ned to figure out what is causing that, possibly a conflict. I will need to build a CR patch when I return, should be straight forward though there are very many it would seem despite few ESP files. Oh well something to look forward to I guess.
  2. I'm now back in the Requiem game and currently testing 1.82. I am using my own new build, a sort of hybrid SR / REGS / Requiem but with far fewer mods. The reason being that installing SR and or STEP in it's entirety is quite a task and I am not entirely convinced that I like all the choices or that many of them are even necessary. I'm going for minimalism - in that if I see or notice a problem or something that I need then I will add it in. Just using 2 patches at the moment as far as Requiem goes. The ETaC - Complete one and this one "Requiem - Unofficial Patches Patch and Dragonborn Reqtified" from "More Requiem Patches". This covers everything needed for STEP in one file. There are many others there as well. Anyway I will post any useful findings on here as I go. Merry Xmas
  3. I use this, very noticeable difference, definite improvement.
  4. Hi if by that esp file you mean the patch that you can download for making Requiem work with STEP that is on the pack page it is seriously out of date. Don't use it. Alternatively you can load the required esp file from ICH then remove it as a master and replace it with the ICH legendary file as a master instead and it will then work mostly fine.
  5. Yes there are other patches out there. Just search Requiem on Nexus and take your pick of all the ones you might need. The reproccer does take care of followers and NPCs in general as well as weapon and armor stats I believe - but cannot confirm how well it does it.
  6. Damn forgot this was coming out. Downloading that sucker now goodbye Tamriel hello Thedas. For now at least.
  7. Without fully studying your load order it does on the surface look quite splendid almost sexy but you do have some weird and unusual plugins like Jswords load screens.esp WHY, WHY is this important???? Please ignore MO's mod order advice it is cool but not accurately useful YET!
  8. Not Sure this chap / chapette is ready for packs yet dude - I sense some reading and practice is still ahead of this one. This is not a new opinion but modding without becoming a modder is pretty tricky. Reading and trying new ideas is part of what STEP is all about but the guide is very focused on improving the vanilla experience not catering to the wide variety of potential game play experience. To become a modder one needs to a) learn the craft and b) spend time looking at what you want it to be and make those changes. STEP is and always has been a project that teaches the first and advises the second. The packs enhance this but in each case there is a limit on what can be prescribed when users install a variety of different mods expecting them to work together. This forum is a fantastic resource for a wide variety of information and help and the staff are aware of and trying to solve all of the issues that are involved in such a big undertaking and shortening it. Ultimately though it is on you the modder to learn how to mod before you get to the point where you can see what is needed to make packs and indeed mod guides. Much love to all,
  9. "These instructions seem crazy to me. For example; the survival pack was recommended with STEP and Requiem, and the survival pack includes Hunterborn. Azirok doesn't have Hunterborn in his load order. The survival pack page doesn't have a load order at all. The Requiem pack page doesn't mention it either. At this point, how can I find out where it goes? LOOT/BOSS seems to put Requiem files all over the place so I can't trust that." Tsk! Use LOOT to sort STEP and Survival pack. Hunterborn should load after Requiem.esp then the patch - simple no? If using 1.8 then a patch is not really needed as the reproccer handles it. There are instructions for both LOOT and BOSS on the Requiem pack page. Survival pack also has instructions for load order. I can not put instructions for every conceivable mod combination out there you will need to do some work yourself. @Nozzer66 - I wish I had the time to do a full update but the patches for all of SR:LE are not there yet, as soon as compatibility for SIC is sorted I will be more keen to update. I will need to test everything first and just do not have time to get STEP reloaded on my system and test it all. If anyone wants to run tests against STEP and let me know the results then I will give you credit on the pack page and add in your results / findings whilst updating the page. For now all works as is - the Requificator will soon make many patches obsolete - looking forward to that.
  10. This is what I meant about unclear instructions. Do not activate Requiem patches without Requiem installed, just make sure that you have them, you can hide the plugins in MO until you need them. I was just trying to give you some clear steps to follow, but as is often the case what seems clear to me does not always appear clear to another (I should know as I am a teacher), this is why it is good to ask questions if you don't understand something so that it can be cleared up.
  11. There are LOOT instructions added to the pack at the end after the BOSS instruction. Loot does not sort Requiem correctly unless you are happy building a big compatibility patch in TES5Edit. STEP 1) Follow the STEP 2.2.9 guide to install STEP Core and Extended. STEP 2) Test that it is all working OK. STEP 3) Add Survival pack (exclude Subliminal Traps, RND and Traps are Dangerous). USE LOOT to sort. STEP 4) Run bashed patch and any skyproc patchers if used. STEP 5) Test that it is all working OK - run around a bit get used to the mods and their effects. STEP 6) Adjust and or remove mods from STEP as directed by Requiem pack, make sure any relevant mods have their Requiem patches available. STEP 7) Add Requiem pack. Make sure all necessary patches are present as described in the pack. STEP 8) Manually sort Requiem and it's dependent patches at the end of your load order before the bashed patch in the order described on the Requiem patch page. STEP 9) Run bashed patch again and any skyproc patchers if used. STEP 10) Test that it is all working OK - adjust and tweak if needed. If there are any problems then you have made an installation error or similar because a) I have not explained something clearly enough or b) you have missed or skipped or misunderstood an important STEP somewhere. NOTE: most modders on here have built and rebuilt STEP and or SR:LE many times - yes it is hard work - yes it is worth it. Happy modding;
  12. Gameplay changes are not a big part of STEP - so probably not. But I am interested in this mod from a personal playthrough perspective.
  13. Everything @Nozzer66 has said is correct. Th pack pages can be confusing I know but STEP 2.2.9 has both CORE and Extended mods in it (the ones with a green marker are CORE. Just follow that and add in any Requiem patches that are packaged with the mods (not many) and remove or don't install mods as required by the Requiem pack. May I also suggest that you install my Survival pack. It will get you iNeed and Frostfall in your game. It has Requiem instructions as well as STEP instructions. Let me know if you need help.
  14. That one is just a placeholder put there by STEP admins in an attempt to convince Neo to use the STEP pack system for SR:LE. Neo declined AFAIK. At some point the packs in the STEP packs section will need to be sorted out properly so that the packs available will all be fully compatible with STEP 2.3 and potentially will be in a slightly new format or adjusted one. When that happens the only packs on the page will be those that are up to date and being maintained I would assume so redundant and abandoned packs will be removed. Still I'm not in charge of all that but it would make sense so that these kinds of errors no longer occur.
  15. These variations are to do with the level of the creature involved, things like armor penetration, and resistances. These will vary depending on tags used in the mods and as such how they are perceived by the Requificator (weird name). It is good that the patcher is doing NPCs and creatures as well because this will greatly reduce the need for patches in time. Many of Aziroks patches add keywords and perks as well as adjusting stats, so with the keywords present the patcher should be able to use them, the only problem would be that the patcher may add stats and perks on top of those already added by the patch, so care would need to be taken there. Anyway it is really good that you are looking into this, after all the more people contribute the better we can make it all work.
  16. Overwrite with Requiem. These scripts are those shared by the Brawl Bugs patch and between EBT and Requiem they are all covered.
  17. Yes that is the gist of what I was saying, if you want darker nights then I would not use vividian. I am still looking at how to get what I want with vividian but I will probably return more faithfully to this pack as it allows me to get what i want more completely and of course these plugins can generally still be merged.
  18. The thing is with Vividian is that there are instructions on that page for making it work with all of those mods. I saw no sense in repeating his instructions. If using vividian then I would follow those instructions rather than mine. More and more ENBs are making themselves compatible with a range of mods but few have done as much as Manga including making the CoT Weather Patch by prod80 obsolete. But if trying my weather pack then I recommend using RealVision (or similar) with Darker Nights as shown on the pack page.
  19. There is generally only one file that needs to be edited and normally two perks that need to be added. The new Skyproc patch is supposed to do that for all followers though. That said not sure how it works for added followers there would need to be some keywords added, there is much discussion of this on the Requiem pages on both the nexus and reddedit sites. The main problem when assigning stats to the character will depend on what level they will be and how much you want them to be able to survive. Obviously setting them as essential helps but if their armor skills and health are low then it is likely that they may spend most of the time crawling around on the floor instead of helping so increasing those skills and stats is probably necessary. The other issue is that Requiem is an unleveled world in that only you really level so as you get stronger others get less difficult to defeat I am not sure whether NPC followers in the game level with you. That said it is probably why it is important to load follower plug-ins after Requiem so that those kinds of features such as leveling up are preserved. In that case you don't need to tweak them too much as they will get better as you do. I have not gone very far into Requiem 1.8.1.1 as it now stands as I was always waiting for Azirok. Now it does seem time to get into it so I will start to do so, especially as due to some wonderful PC malarkey I have had to format my system and re-install tons of stuff but managed to lose my profiles so need to build them all again, and I do not have huge amounts of time unfortunately. Someday soon I hope then I will update the pack. I am going to need to rebuild and streamline all of my packs for 2.3 if nothing else unless they become obsolete due to the excellent work of others.
  20. I did the same - happy with the result.
  21. This is looking really good, but for SIC and possibly HLE this would be good for SR:LE as well as STEP. Definitely worth trying out.
  22. Nope the fellow seems to have disappeared. There enough patches out there to make STEP work though but not SR yet. We need SIC and possibly HLE. Otherwise it is good to go. Rumor has it that the requifiticator will make many patches obsolete though it will require the additions of a few key words into specific mods so they can be patched by the skyproccer. I do not currently have time to do much with the pack at the moment. It would be too confusing to make the pack just for STEP and a different guide for SR.
  23. Just to finish this up. I formatted my drive and reinstalled windows etc.. Including perhaps a better security system. Skyproc works again now. A pain but at least my system is good again.
  24. I'm running windows 7, but this problem did occur after the last windows update. I will have a look at the page you suggest GrantSP, later when I have time. I have mainly tried to install the off line version of both x64 and x32 versions as I need both apparently. I had this problem earlier in the year not sure when exactly but I do know I reformatted C: at the start of September and re-installed everything - I do not know if that was due to this problem or something else, but much borking (good word Neo) had occurred and this was of a type I had not come across before including Java issues. It may be my only recourse - not too huge a deal as all my games and files etc.. are on separate non system drives, but still a pain.
  25. Yes I'm using the up to date version, I downloaded another version, tried it and it wouldn't install error code 1603. Tried to reinstall the other version and again same error. So for now problem is I do not have Java at all on my system as it wont install - yay. As before I will need to keep downloading until I get a copy that installs but surely something weird has happened in windows.
