ACCEPTED Weapon and Armor Fixes (by kryptopyr)
Smile44 replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I believe they mean load order. The patch will add back in some things from W&A Fixes that are altered by GDO which is loaded later by BOSS. :) -
I can confirm that my weather pack seems to work flawlessly with this pack. I have reached level 21 with numerous quests on the go and very many battles in heavy areas - no CTDs or ILS so far. Which is good going. Also using my Survival pack (not RND) and a few others all installed after the Vega Core pack, which in turn is installed after CORE STEP. Have added a couple of interface mods from STEP Extended as well as dual wield parrying and associated mods and Alternate Start. I also have Sands of Time running smoothly along side. Next looking to add DCO and CWO. I will likely leave the latter until I need to do the civil war. None of these mods required any extra patching though it is possible that such might be worthwhile in the long run. I am running textures at 1024 max - you can hardly notice this with an ENB running with full effects the game looks great. I only point this out because the combined efforts of people on this forum are getting there as far as getting a heavily modded Skyrim working consistently well - which is fantastic IMO. :)

I was playing a very stable game I tried this out (I can't think why - but thought it couldn't hurt). I don't know for certain that this mod was responsible but I started to have the odd CTD which finally ended this game's run when I gained a repeatable CTD at the door to Dustman's Crypt (companions - proving honour). I couldn't get past that point and other earlier save games were having problems loading. Given the direction this thread has gone and some familiar sounding messages, I can see that using this mod at this time is not smart - as was my installing it when I was not getting any in game problems - whoops. I can not swear that this mod was responsible but I wont be using it on my new game. :)

+1! You just need to play with more caution, if you are approaching bandit forts, camps or any enemy without care and or stealth then you are asking for trouble. If I get hit through the neck or in the head by an arrow then I don't fancy my chances of survival - and the same goes for enemies when I am sniping them. That said it has to be a heart shot or head shot (if light or non armoured) getting killed by an arrow anywhere else in the body should not happen - and that is annoying. I'm sure there must be a happy medium it all depends on your definition of immersion / realism / fun fantasy sword and sorcery game. Too many variables there - I'll take the added danger, more fun to play with your heart in your mouth. :)

I am using this with UP 2 across the board. Have also added SoT to the game which sometimes gets my character in trouble, thankfully Lydia and Janessa keep me alive as long as I remember not to go charging in. I have had one ctd since stating my play though with this and it was after installing SoT. This was on horseback attempting to fight a large spider. It dawned on me I had not included the patch for Convenient Horses and SoT so installed that and once again not a hint of a crash in several hours play. Gameplay has become harder since reaching level 10. HLE coming to the rescue I suspect. I am not using any weather mods or non core sound mods but do have weather and rain enabled in the ENB and it seems fine though not as immersive or potentially challenging as the weather in my pack but that is as expected. I am using a skin texture for women which is good, not sure if there is the same thing for men but not overly bothered about body mods myself as its gameplay that most interests me but definitely worth testing as far as compatibility goes and since these are mainly texture and mesh only there should not be a problem. I also plan to start adding in select mods from Extended trying to find the sweet spot. I will let you know how it's going. :)

Of course you are right, feel free sounds like lots of fun. In fact it is what I did more or less. As I understand it this pack was fully tested as is and I am happy to corroborate that it works like a charm but on its own it needs more for my tastes and so I installed it exactly as detailed then played it and started to add mods from packs to it - and so far so good. Anyway the point of my posts was to a) find out any more info with respect to decisions made and b) to confirm that it works well both standalone and with other packs. You may do with that, what you will. :)
-
Of course just wondered if there had been specific reasons or whether as you have stated it was just due to testing. I have been playing with this to level 10 without a hint of a ctd or similar also I am using the lighting section of my Weather pack and my survival pack and a number of other mods to improve elements of gameplay such as moonlight tales and vampiric thirst. All good so far. The full weather pack will work fine with this without significant patching as will the survival pack. This is still a lot easier than Requiem to play but it is still fun. :)
-
Just started using this to test it out for myself. All works flawlessly even with an ENB. Combat was easy in Helgen but definitely harder outside, that said I did have Hadvar with me. Anyway as fas as this pack goes you have clearly done a good job but I would like to know about mods like iHud or Frostfall etc.. is there a reason you have not included those other than it is in other packs adding that would require the survival plugin from skyRe. In other words in your opinion would this pack be compatible with the Weather and lighting pack for example? I wouldn't expect you to troubleshoot mods outside of your pack guide but I do wonder about the imposed limitations - just to make things easier to troubleshoot or because the whole thing come crashing down if any more mods are added? :)

OK thanks for help, but I think I have sorted it. In the interest on keeping things nice and orderly in my common folder I had BOSS in it's own folder which it turns out was what was causing the problem - who knew? :)

pack Immersive Survival (by tehherb)
Smile44 replied to tehherb's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
I know about that but only SkyTEST adds anything here really the others just contribute to the variation. Seems to be fine like this have had no problems with it but if I was to add immersive patrols and Sic etc.. then there would be problems, but for this pack meant to be immersive survival based around hunting etc.. then it is fine on it's own. :) -
I'm having an unusual problem with BOSS. The program works fine out of MO and normally but other programs that use BOSS e.g. BUM and any skyproc program such as DSR and reproccer get stuck at the running BOSS part. Also BOSS will not read any of the changes made in the userlist made by BUM only the generic one included with BOSS. Has anyone come up with this before? It's getting annoying now so would love to find some kind of solution, pretty please, fingers crossed etc... :) Ok problem is solved - it never occurred to me that placing BOSS in it's own folder in \Common would be any kind of an issue but moving it out of the folder and into the common folder seems to have fixed it - don;t know why, don't know how, don't care/ SOLVED.

Indeed - and possibly just as long suffering. :)

Sounds like a plan. These presets are all highly subjective. But there are key ideas that potential users need to know e.g. Compatibility. Incidentally there are other preset suggestions hiding on this forum somewhere, be good idea to get them into this section as well. :)

Use spoiler tags to post large amounts of text - {spoiler} text {/spoiler} with these brackets [] instead of the ones shown. That said this is the wrong section for this post. Needs to be in the trouble shooting section, I'm sure one of the long suffering admins will move this when they get a chance. Have a look around the forum, at how it is structured and where different types of post are and general tips for posting which can often be found at the top of each section. :)

pack Immersive Survival (by tehherb)
Smile44 replied to tehherb's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Hi I am using this in a playthrough with all of STEP CORE and most of STEP Extended. My weather pack is in there but with Unreal ENB and I have added an as yet unpublished Vilja pack and DUEL V7 as well as an as yet unpublished other lands pack (Falskaar and Wyrmstooth and related mods). All of which is working well together so far. Below I am showing your Immersive Survival Pack with some extra mods that I feel will add to the immersive experience both as a hunter and as an explorer both inside and out. These mods I have added as suggestions mean that pretty much every mod in my Survival pack are included in yours but to suit the fact that I am a confirmed Requiem user I would not use most of these mods in my game and would need to highlight which ones not to include for users of Requiem, were we to do a combined Immersive Survival pack as we have begun to discuss. These do all work together well as far as I can tell. Only Frostfall, Hunter's Cabin, Pumping Iron (personally don't care about this one though the idea is cool) and the cloak mods are not covered by Requiem (Realistic Needs is suggested but Requiem already adds in recipes and food buffs but not penalties). I quite enjoy playing as a Hunter but as much as I like realism I prefer this kind to be in the background rather than the foreground, part of the atmosphere, all the animations that go with getting goods out from the carcass of animals grate on me after a while but I do see the attraction and why Hunterborn is so popular. Anyway to sum up, I have had no issues with your pack as it was intended by yourself and after I added my suggestions in, so thumbs up / or endorsed - to use mod speak. :) -
Yay we have a place for ENB suggestions etc.. So move this post there you mighty post movers. :)

I've been having a problem with getting DSR to run past the activating BOSS part. I don't think this is a bug to do with DSR as it has always run well for me before. Becuase it gets stuck at BOSS I think it may be something to do with BOSS because it doesn't seem to talk to BUM (in that it doesn't notice the userlist in the Skyrim folder) either but otherwise works perfectly well through MO. If anyone has had a similar problem I would love to hear some ideas about how you solved it. I have re-installed all mods involved and will be posting this on the other mod sites. Thanks in advance :)

[RESOLVED] Improving performance of Unreal Cinema for 1440p
Smile44 replied to DanielCoffey's question in Post-Processing Support
Interestingly I found that disabling weathers and rain in the enbseries.ini frees up a chunk of fps. Admitedly I did have my weather pack installed so did not need anything from the ENB in that department and I went from 15 fps (when it was raining) to 35 fps in the rain - still resource heavy but that is one tweak that made an instant difference. :) -
Yeah it is near the top you need to remove the // so //#define APPLYGAMECOLORCORRECTION becomes just #define APPLYGAMECOLORCORRECTION Does the trick. :)
-
Did you mean to move this thread recommending an ENB preset to the Support and Troubleshooting section? Seems an odd choice. Mods need to be added to the 'Mods' section for the links in the wiki. Perhaps ENB should have it's own sun section in Mods. :)
-
TEMPORARY NOTE: This is not a request for support. This is a mod suggestion originally placed in mods but moved here for reasons unknown. :) Hi adding this to the mod pool. Many of you may well be familiar with this especially if you follow Neo's SR:LE. This gives a very sombre look but it is also very well done interiors and exteriors look very well lit but it is in interiors that it really shines (so to speak). I keep falling in and out of affection for this ENB - currently very much in especially as it works well with my weather pack). This is very stylised but very immersive not to everyone's tatse but definitely worth trying out. Â Â Â LINK WIKI

SR works very well with Requiem - but I wouldn't know where to start with sorting out conflicts SR style. Requiem needs to overwrite just about everything. The Requiem Pack on top of SR is very stable. :) P.S. @DanielCoffey - you need to install ELFX Enhancer but not ELFX Exteriors when using RealVision if you do that then the interiors are very dark - that said I am working with Unreal again just now. Needs tweaking though as I can lose up to 40+ fps with it outside when raining but this is also with my weather pack installed. I expect there are several changes needed in the ini with respect to rain.

pack Weather and Lighting (by Smile44)
Smile44 replied to Smile44's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
BOSS is run by a group of individuals of whom WilliamImm is one. I think he has a lot to do with keeping things up to date - STEP wise anyway. :) -
I have another pack in the works, so assuming the things that were problems before are now fixed I can give feedback on the current format as I build the new pack. It does look a good deal better now than it did. :)
